Well, for as long as I've been a patient of Dr. Suzuki and for each visit, they take my blood pressure, ask you all the health questions and provide me with PPE (eye covering) during each visit. While I've not been to many dentists throughout my life, Dr. Suzuki is the only dentist who does the health check. Her staff, front office, dental hygienists and assistants are great; personable, helpful and kind. Appointments for regular teeth cleaning is made before you leave your appointment. If there is any dental work needed, they have a network of specialty dentists they refer you to. If you have a dental emergency, Dr. Suzuki is readily available. Located in the Kuakini Medical Center, parking is never a problem. The office validates your parking stub but there remains a small fee at the toll booth. I live on Maui and brought my elderly mom here to have a filling replaced. She is in the nursing home at Kuakini and has outlived her dental work. Recently, she complained about a filling being worn. I checked with her regular dentist and it would have been difficult to transport her there. However, she hadn't seen a dentist in over two years. It was an easy and convenient move to transport her to Dr. Suzuki's Office. The office staff, dental hygienist, and Dr. Suzuki were very kind and understanding. They did x-rays, made recommendations, completed the replacement of two fillings, and did a thorough cleaning. Dr. Suzuki is experienced and has a good disposition. If you have a relative in the Kuakini nursing home, I would highly recommend walking over to Dr. Suzuki's Office and talking to them about scheduling an appointment. My mom is now on a six month schedule, and we are thankful that we had the opportunity to take her there. read more

Well, I do and I'm so thrilled about it! :D I have the best Dentist in Dr. Laura Suzuki, Hygenist in Cathy, dental procedures assistant in Beatrice, and last but not least is the equally amazing and efficient reception-admin desk personnel who seamlessly coordinate the entire show. Let me tell you all about them! :D Been coming here for the past three years and always grateful to have found this dentist office thru a friend's referral :) RECEPTION/OFFICE - Their reception personnel know exactly what needs to be done to set your next appointment and even when things come up and you need to make a schedule change. If you have text messaging with your cellular phone, they'll send text messages to your phone the week prior and week of your appointment so you be less likely to forget! Fantastic service! :D CLEANING PART I - HYGENIST CATHY - For my check ups, Cathy is my assigned hygenist. She's been my hygenist since I started coming here is always cheerful, quick, and efficient! She checks me in, jots down my health history since last visit, measures my blood pressure, and every other time, x-rays my teeth. She then works to help me maintain my whites as pearly as they can be! She's always very gentle and I love her for it! CLEANING PART II - DR. SUZUKI - When Cathy is complete, Dr. Suzuki comes in to check on my cleaning, x-rays, and does a visual check on each of my teeth! Probably checks many other technical things about my teeth! Hehe She's always busy but always very personable. Every visit she asks how I'm doing which is a nice touch bc it adds to the welcome feeling I already have being here at her office :) ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES - Sometimes I have bite or teeth issues and when I let Cathy or Dr. Suzuki know, doctor and staff immediately take action to see what's going on. Beatrice who is responsible for setting up these procedures is terrific about making sure everything is ready for Dr. Suzuki! Beatrice IS wonderful but you don't want to have to see her all that often bc it most likely means you are having some sort of dental procedure hehe ;) Well, just know that Beatrice is good at making you feel nice and comfy while on her side of the office :) Dr. Suzuki is always very smart at analyzing what needs to be done. She's very much a perfectionist who cares about how tooth issues are resolved. She'll double check what she can to be sure everything is set before you leave and will even call you by phone personally to be sure everything is A-OK. When Dr. Suzuki is not immediately available, the office will call to set an appointment for me. What fantastic customer service, right?! :D Totally Amazing!! :D Every one of the entire office plays their part and works well together as a team. They're an awesome group of people who do awesome work! :) If you're looking for caring, knowledgeable, efficient, warm and welcoming dentistry personnel, look no further than this Dr. Laura Suzuki's office! :D Thank you for taking such good care of me, Dr. Suzuki, Cathy, Beatrice, & Staff! :D ----- OFFICE LOCATION - Located on the 8th and top most floor of the Kuakini Medical Bldg (not the hospital!), I always kinda get a little lost finding my way between the parking structure & two elevators (btwn the parking structure and medical bldg) on the way to the medical bldg so I always try to be sure I'm there a little early in case I get a little lost with the floors. PARKING STRUCTURE / STUB - Parking structure is a short drive in from the street (Kuakini). Pull a parking stub as you enter the structure and remember to take it with you to your visit. There is a flat rate parking charge of $2 so be sure to get your validation stickers when you check in or out of the dentist office. CHECK IN - Out of the elevators, walk to the side with a hallway. Dr. Suzuki's office is just a short distance from the elevator. As you open the door, the reception desk is immediately to the right. Check in with the reception desk, give them your parking stub, then have a seat along the comfy fuzzy dk brown sofa seating opposite the reception desk. Dr. Suzuki and her staff are amazing. I had what turned out to be a cracked tooth in the back. It was tender, scraping my tongue and I asked a friend if they knew a good dentist. She sent me Dr. SSuziki's number.I called and the receptionist could not have been kinder. I explained what was happening and she asked if I could come in that afternoon. I took that appointment like a winning lottery ticket. it turned out that it was in its own way. I got there 15 minutes early and when I walked through the door I was greeted with the truest form of aloha. I thanked them for fitting me in as I was in pain, they were so kind and caring. I was in the back and with the dental hygienist in no time. She was so kind and incredibly professional. She got me settled in and prepared for Dr. Suzuki. Dr. Suzuki came in, again incredibly kind and professional. We chatted just a bit, she made me comfortable and took a look, yup a cracked molar. She was rather surprised I was not in more pain, but according to my husband, I have a high threshold for pain. I am a 9/11 firefighter with a bunch of chronic illnesses going on so I think i have gotten used to a certain level of pain. Dr. Suzuki numbed me up, made sure I was not feeling anything and went to work. It seemed like no time before she was done. The tooth was repaired and a temporary filling put in. I could tell immediately everything was better, the tooth was not scraping my tongue and when I bit down there was no pain. I was so grateful. Then I went out to pay (expecting the worst since my health insurance does not have dental) but found out I was paying a very fair price, inexpensive actually for the work that was done and the comfort it brought me. I cannot recommend Dr. Suzuki and her staff enough. Professional, experienced, kind (they truly practice Athe spirit of aloha) and fairly priced. And they got me in same day in a busy office because I was uncomfortable. Thank you, Dr. Suzuki and staff. You are my dentist in Hawaii (I live here six months of the year) for sure. I cannot say enough good things about you and your office, truly fantastic. Such a wonderful and honest dentist practice! I found out about Dr. Suzuki after another debating was trying to upcharge my insurance for cavities that I didn't even have! Dr. Suzuki saved me from many days of being embarrassed, and I wasn't even her patient. I've had 2 temporary teeth that was placed in the beginning of the first round of quarantine. I'm not able to return to CA until the ending of October so I was desperate. Kylie (front office) and Beatrice (assistant) made the experience wonderful. They made me feel like I was one of their regular patients. Dr. Suzuki was very down-to-earth and reassuring. I felt very welcomed and at ease.
