Something I have had for 15 years, and I have dry cleaned multiple times, it has never been ruined like this. It basically has a layer of faux fur that was taken off of it and is way thinner now. And it had vomit on the sleeve, and that was not properly cleaned because it still smells of vomit. The prices were good, but unfortunately they did a poor job. I called them back to notify them and request a refund or discount, and the lady said she can't and had another customer and hung up. I called back a bit later twice and now they are not picking up my calls or calling me back. UPDATE: I am lowering my review to 1 star. I emailed this shop owner my receipts and told them I took the coat to another dry cleaner that said it had been clearly water washed (not dry cleaned by fur method as indicated on the tag) and permanently damaged so they could do nothing. The outter shell has shrunken (no stretch) and the inner part has been stripped of a whole layer of faux fur. I asked for Happy Laundromat to reimburse me and pay to help replace my only winter coat. They did neither.

Ridgewood Laundromat, exactly one block away! I hefted up my polka dot sack, slung it over my shoulder, and headed out into the FREEZING Ridgewood wilderness. One point five minutes later, I was entering a tiny little vintage hideaway. Their drop off prices were listed in the window (I believe it's $8 for up to 10 pounds) including comforters and blankets and anything out of the ordinary. I didn't really take the time to study it... like I said... freezing! The woman inside (also tiny) was very sweet and told me they are open from 8:30am to 8:30pm. I'm not sure if that's just on Saturdays or if that is their daily schedule. She also asked if I would like to pick it up later that day, or wait until the morning. So, it's nice to know that they do same day drop off. It would be nice if they were open later, but since they are so close, I could easily run over before work. When I went to pick up the next morning, she remembered me and immediately headed over to pull down my bag. Happy to report that all my clothes are fresh, clean and folded!! I will definitely be back.

I washed my laundry there, very clearly posted here online, and on the doors of the business. Closes at 11. I wash my clothes, and dry them. I'm in before 9 but one of the things I'm washing is my duvet. It's huge, and needs to dry for a while. So around 10:40 I return to get it, aware that it may be wet still, but prepared to suck it up and let it air dry because I know they're getting ready to close. I walk up to the door, it's locked. I'm looking at the sign, it says closes at 11. I call, I call, I call. Finally someone comes to the door and scolds...me? Because they're closed. And I at first am apologetic and mention that the hours are posted as 11, but that I just wanna grab my things and leave. She continues to scold me and asks if I'm dumb? She then continues that 11 is when she has to lock the door but she has to clean before that so they actually close earlier. I honestly don't care. Maybe I am dumb. She gets upset over the fact people are drying their clothes at 9:00 when the laundromat closes at 10:00, she likes to scold people and talk to them rudely. If you have questions you're better off figuring it out alone than asking her, I've also heard her on the phone talking shit about customers currently washing their clothes. Overall the laundromat is clean and the machines work well but the service isn't the best from that specific worker.

I brought several jackets to Tina's for dry cleaning and while 3/4 came out clean (hence the two stars), my down jacket pictured in this post came out a drastically different shade with new markings left from the cleaning process. I understand that sometimes the chemicals used in dry cleaning can alter the color of older fabric, and many of the stains were very deep-set, so while the result was bad I am most disappointed with Tina's response. She insisted that nothing had changed, saying that I had altered the images shown below, and that the camera was making the jacket appear brighter, going as far as to point out that I am on the beach which couldn't possibly be February (weird to have to defend this but yes! You can go to the beach year-round). Despite showing her many photos of the jacket in its previous state, with timestamps to match, she continued to gaslight and insisted I pay full-price. I was very hopeful coming to Tina's as she has many wonderful reviews, but am frankly taken aback by today's encounter. Please consider using a different laundromat if you would like to avoid a similar experience.

After trying many different laundromats in the area (both that I can walk to and drive to) I was very happy to stumble across Lavanderia by accident. They advertise that the machines are brand new, which was probably about a year or so ago I would guess, but the machines are definitely on the nicer/newer side for this area. Lavanderia is brightly light, and open 24 hours which is a great convenience. All the machines also operate with a laundry card. The first time you give a $1 deposit for the card (which you can get back when you return the card, or you can hold on to it). You can fill up the card with cash or any form of credit card (debit with cc logo is accepted too) which is also a great convenience. There is one or two TVs, and the front desk sells various types of detergents etc should you need it. My only complaint at all is that the overall space is kind of tight when its busy. The folding tables can be in the way of people trying to get in and out of the dryers at times. To avoid that situation I would try to go at off hours. Otherwise I definitely recommend.
