A friend, who had a high-end house, had his windows and patio door replaced by HomeSealed with Okna products, a brand I had never heard of. I was so impressed with the quality and looks of his windows and patio door, I called HomeSealed and arranged for replacements. I love the windows. It's 0 degrees F right now, and I can run my hand around the windows, and not a draft anywhere. Same with the patio door. The windows are easy cleaning, they lock securely, and the install job was great, with little damage to exiting trim. Great warranty too and an easy online service portal if something is not right. I had rental units and used a discount window company for replacements, and those windows failed frequently. You get what you pay for, and this is an investment that will last many years and pay for itself in fuel savings. If you have the funds for Pella or Anderson's best, you ought to check out Okna. If you're thinking about windows from a big-box store, good luck if there's an install problem, or parts/ warranty service are needed.

Can't frankly say how good they are at the job - because they failed at the sales cycle…read more For four windows in a base configuration, they were north of $14k. To put in perspective: Home Depot installed the highest end Simonton windows possible with the specs requested and came in at around $7k installed. Which means that HomeSealed has excessive profits padded in. So...if you don't care about the money side, they might be perfectly fine to work with as a local outfit. EDIT: laminated was requested as a cost compare option, not a requirement. Even if laminated were a requirement, Home Depot's was still cheaper by over $3k. Fact is - as we said - HomeSealed is just priced higher because they don't use every manufacturer, they only use the ones they use, which tend to lean the higher cost. That's what we said: they might be fine at their job and you might want the best of whatever, maybe they're fine. BUT...if you're like 95% of homeowners who feel that significant pricing differences for basic things like colors is illogical, HomeSealed isn't for you.

FIVE out of FIVE stars for CAB Construction!…read more When I learned I my commercial building needed a new roof, I reached out to several contractors for quotes, one of them being CAB Construction. After a prompt initial phone call, John M. met me at my building, perfectly prepared to answer all my questions and he'd very obviously paid attention to my specific concerns from when we spoke (about being a messy tear-off in a tight, highly visible lot.) Worth noting, as a single woman business owner - John's candor and professionalism were greatly appreciated. He met / exceeded every promise on price, workmanship and completion date (which was not an easy goal to meet, but he got it done!) The process could not have been easier for me. And despite the fact CAB was by far the most equipped + experienced company I spoke to - they also came in with the lowest price. I recommend CAB Construction to anyone for roofing. Hopefully John M gets your call. :) (I'll be putting siding on my house in the next year - I'll be going with them 'cause they do that, too!)

Infinity Roofing. Recommended to us by a friend, Infinity has become our go to for those projects…read morethat I just won't be doing myself. I'm an electrician by trade, there are many things I will do, roofs and doors aren't on that list. Our first project was quoted by a salesperson named Aaron and it was a rip and replace of our roof. He was a good guy and came in and gave us a solid deal with all the service and upgrades I was looking for. Financed this venture through Enerbank USA and paid it off interest free in the years' time allotted. Our latest venture happened through a simple phone call. We had just dealt with the seriously cold Polar Vortex and noticed some issues with our doors. Infinity happened to call us to check on our roof and during this conversation, I had requested anyone with experience with doors. Well guess what, they do doors! About a week later a salesperson named Mark came out and gave us, the Provia doors booklet and a bit of homework. He then came back and we proceeded to build some doors, three to be exact. Again, we will be going with the 12-month interest free financing. We are excited as can be to get these new doors installed and seal this house up. In the business of home remodeling, there are many fast wheelers and dealers out there. We personally have found Infinity to be more of a partner than just a contractor in our home ventures. You really get what you pay for these days and pay for what you get, so why not deal with a company that has your back? I'll throw some pics up once our doors are installed. It was a little pricier than we initially expected but I am expecting the quality of the goods to be second to none. Another plus is not only did we get a deal for the time of year we are purchasing but we also received a nice loyalty discount of an additional 5% since we are on our second project with Infinity. That's what's up as every penny counts!

AVOID INFINITY EXTERIORS AT ALL COSTS…read more They did not fulfill multiple aspects of the contract, our roof has been leaking all week just shortly after installation, and the company has failed to acknowledge or remedy this. They also chipped paint all over the exterior of the house and damaged our brand new windows. In addition, they reused extremely rusted materials despite the contract specifying they would be replaced. When told of these, the quality manager came out -- he papered over some issues, said he would get back to me on others (and didn't), and told me the area with ripped metal where water was getting in was "fine" (that night, we had even more water coming in). Our package also included a "50 point inspection" afterwards to ensure everything was installed properly. Not only did this not happen, but when the Quality Manager came out in response to my complaints he admitted multiple things were missed on initial installation. These were only caught by me having to go up on my roof and check, instead of the 50 point inspection. I am more than happy to update this review should the company decide to fulfill the contract and fix the failing roof. For now, I am forced to spend my time and energy calling, consulting lawyers, and contacting NARI.

I made that very clear to the scheduler. The scheduler confirmed that that could be done. I subsequently received an email confirming the appointment. I replied, repeating my insistence that I simply wanted the repair made in a single visit without a separate visit from an estimator. Sure enough, an estimator arrived 20 minutes late without any equipment. He was downright rude when I complained, saying "no one does business that way." I told him that Guardian was put on notice at least twice that I was not interested in a two step process. I would not have bothered taking time off from work had they simply told me they required a two step process. At my request, the manager called me, and I explained the situation. She was pleasant on the phone and said that she would she she could find someone in the organization to address the issue. I forwarded the earlier email for her records. She promptly acknowledged receipt. That was all two weeks ago. I never heard from her again. She did not respond to three follow-up emails of increasing urgency. The repair still have not been made, and I am back to square one. I DID receive a robotext asking me to rate my experience. (eyeroll). Stay away from these people. They are arrogant and beyond worthless unless you have a major project, and even then you have to worry about how they respond to a problem. Dear Guardian: am sorry I am not worth your precious time. It will not happen again.

Have had a LOT of communication with Guardian over the past few years. They did a sealant on our…read moreroof, but due to the age of the roof that plan did not hold up - they did explain to us that we really should have a new roof, which we agreed with and they subsequently gave us a credit off of the original quote. Workers were very diligent and hard-working. The project managers had to deal with extra problems that were uncovered when the old roof was taken off - many layers and uneven spots, for which we did pay extra. Our problem is with the follow up. While our manager/site boss - not exactly sure what his title is -was communicative during the process and did come back to follow up with some debris that was left in the gutter, etc. we told him that our large front bush got damaged. He assured us that they have a company that they work with, and that he would have them get in touch with us. That was three months ago, and I have sent him five texts, none of which were answered. While the roof itself seems fine, the lack of follow-up communication does not bode well for potential future problems.

I am spending the time to write this detailed review, to help someone who is looking for…read morecompetent , honest contractor with a quality brand of windows With all the contractors in the market it is hard to know who to select ( who you can trust ) I found that Artic Sun met the 3 important criteria, critical in buying new windows: Fair pricing Quality windows -( I have had cheap quality windows lose their insulation ability in a short time ) A competent , windows installer that has construction background. This is can make a difference I met with 5 window contractors before finding David with Artic Sun. 2 of the contractors bids were double of those of Artic Sun Not happy with any of these contractors. So I research and learned Polaris Thermaweld brand is highly rated, medium price range. Searching the internet for Polaris ,found Arctic Sun. Met with David - the owner -he was polite, respectful, honest, and not pushy most of the other contractors. He has been in the window business and installing for 25 years. I needed a garage window done, but major issue were with 1st floor and 2nd floor picture window- 2nd floor window directly above 1st floor window. I initially wanted the just 1st floor window done, as the inside wood had deteriorated, and concerned there may be water coming in as outside trim not in good shape. I had David look at this window, and then the 2nd floor window, just to get his thoughts. There was a visible gap on the top of the 2nd floor window frame, seen from the outside. David looked closely at this 2nd floor window, said if I was to replace any window- do this one. He pointed out how there was were areas of potential water damage coming through the wall down to the 1 st floor window, areas where the plaster was expanding, which indicates water may be flowing through. David was legitimately concerned there was an issue. None of the other contractors said anything about issues with this window. They just said " sure we can replace that " No other comments. Didn't care, just wanted to sell windows I decided to do the 1st and 2nd floor windows ( and the small garage window) And good thing I did. David was right- there were many issues with both windows. Jim, who did the window installation, has been doing this for 24 years. He is knows how to build, how houses are constructed. He told me the 2nd floor picture window was originally installed upside down, so the window sill was on top, angle down, which allowed the flow of water into the window casing. This rotted the wood inside the wall, creating several holes. The water then flowed down to the first floor window, which was directly below the 2nd floor window. There also, were holes in the window frame. rotted wood and evidence of carpenter ants. Jim repaired everything, added some boards, and foam insulation The new windows look amazing !! The new vinyl windows look like high end wood windows and match my other wood ones. David and Jim are cousins, it was obvious listening to their conversations that they work well together- also significant factor. After the job was done, they cleaned up every area, move drain sprout back into position - basically could not tell any work was done. David cleaned my new windows so well, you could not tell there was glass. I am so appreciate of their knowledge, expertise and advice. If I had just done the 1st floor window ( which was my initial plan ) there would have been continued water flowing down from 2nd floor , causing damage to my new window. This is a great company , I highly recommend them. They know what they are doing!!
