The teachers are all very effective. I have had classes with Alina, Lien and with Maggie, and was more than pleased with their teaching. I've been going to classes regularly for over 15 months and continuing to get more out of each class. My endurance, flexibility, strength and overall well-being is significantly better now. Recently some Pilates mat classes have been added to the schedule instead of the yoga classes and these are helping me to do the yoga poses better. The breathing and the core development in Pilates are different and complementary to yoga. My teacher Alina shared the purpose and meaning of Pilates method along with the practice of the unique Pilates poses. I appreciate the way she added something that is effective to advance my personal goals for my overall fitness. I love the way I feel after each class.

This is a very weird yoga studio. I had a class last week and it was canceled two hours beforehand…read more I tried to call and it was very hard to get in contact with someone. First off, the website is like a blog and mostly in Chinese and it was very hard to find the number and email. You cannot call as it is text only - and when you do you get an automated message that states that we need to download WeChat. Many people don't have that app. I scheduled the same class again this week and wanted to confirm that the class was still on. I texted the number instead of downloading WeChat and the owner responded back, which I appreciated. But she said they normally cancel the class if they don't have 3 or more people signed up. That is so bizarre I've never heard of that. I've taken many yoga classes and never had that experience- and sometimes I'm the only student in the class and the teacher still shows up. I didn't realize that you had to pay $5 to use their mat or to bring your own mat- however this was my fault - I should have read the email for that information. But again, I've taken many yoga classes throughout the years and never had to pay to use a mat. Another bizarre thing is you need to wait for the instructor in the lobby in order to enter the studio. If you click on the elevator button it will not go up to the "m level" as only the instructor has the key to go up the building. I got there earlier and was confused and kept pressing the elevator button and it was not going up. Luckily, I bumped into the instructor in the lobby. The yoga studio is dark and there are no windows or natural light. It also gets a bit stuffy in there The instructor was nice, but she is clearly new at teaching. There was no flow and the transitions were awkward. It felt like a Pilates class because she kept doing repetitions and would say "do this 10-20 times" and "hold it" On top of that she was doing adjustments on everyone. I am fine with adjustments but she should ask in the beginning of class if people are comfortable to being adjusted and touched. She adjusted one girl and I heard her say "ouch" and was in pain. This is a beginners yoga class and yet she was teaching headstands, one legged pigeon, and camel pose. All the students had difficulty with those poses and the instructor wasn't providing modified or alternative poses which is very dangerous. She didn't put music on until the end of the class- not sure if she had trouble with turning on the music. Lastly, she was looking at her watch/ phone every 10 minutes to see how much time was left and even ended 3 minutes earlier. She realized and decided to add a last minute exercise to fill the remaining time.

There is teacher claimed to go through the same as you do and try to put you into 10 classes at least of membership . Do your research before you come in try the lesson. I end up signed for 10 classes but only went for 5. The classes are ok but very different ways. They focus more on relaxing, free style dancing and etc. which can be weird for some new student. Again if you are looking for serious yoga practice look for somewhere else. I am also surprised that the class schedule won't provide instructor's name associated, meaning if you want to attend someone's class in particular you will have no way to know. This is for older people I think, as they did very light yoga poses and they goes with flow. Be cautious!

I also like the fact that in the whole time I went there, we did not have two classes that were the same. certainly seemed like a very balanced exercise/ breathing/ meditation/ spiritual program to the nay Sayers.... give it an honest try!

BUT at this price point of $70 a month for adults in Flushing, it's still pretty good! It has the essentials in the weight room, with a nice variety of machines and weights. I rarely see broken or out of service equipment. The cardio room never gets overly packed, and they have a nice basketball court that I regularly see people using. The pool is decent but constantly packed so I stopped using it. I think it's just packed because corona park's pool closed Overall, it fits my needs and I don't need to spend as much as other gyms in the area.

With top qualified teachers and aids, lead by the program's Director Lois Rothstein, rest assured that your child will have a rewarding experience at the Y. They create an environment that fosters a love of learning and friendship. Like everything, beginnings can be hard but with 3-K teachers such as Ms. Marieta and Ms. Ruby, children embrace starting school everyday and anticipate the next. Ms. Miri and Ms. Elizabeth reinforce children's curiosity of learning and play in Pre-K through deeper exploration of the various subjects. Adding interactive play elements to engage children's sense of independence, focus and accomplishment. The Early Childhood Program at the YMCA is a hidden treasure in our community. Join the many students and parents that hoped it could continue through 8th grade. I highly recommend this program to all parents with young children.

BELIEVE IT. I should…read morepreface this with a disclosure. I have never done yoga and while I was interested and curious about meditation, I never committed to anything beyond an app. My wife did YogaCare's FULL CIRCLE program and was so impressed by her experience that she booked me into their URBAN MEDITATION RETREAT and essentially commanded that I was doing this. I am a cynical sarcastic person, and had a worry that this would be slow torture as I'd been sent 'under duress' -- I couldn't have been more wrong. What Candice and Ulises have built is a truly warm and welcoming community. One where a complete (out of shape and sedentary) novice like me felt absolutely comfortable and all doubt evaporated in seconds. This three-day experience was absolutely invigorating and eye-opening. Ulises' approach to meditation is grounded in the "real" world without sacrificing a profound sense of the spiritual. His openness and encouragement made the three days resonate and they continue to. All of this is done with no dogmatic right or wrong -- it is all presented with a 'just try it' sense that made it inclusive and all the more impactful. Our group was made up of a newbies like me, as well as a number of returning students -- they shared the same kind and open tone that Candice set. Over the course of the retreat, we did all manner of breathing exercises, deep meditation and some yoga movement. While the movement was wildly uncharted territory, I remained open and thoroughly appreciated it. A highlight for me was after a morning session of breathing and meditation, Ulises led us down Fulton Street to the bustling South Street Seaport to see if we could maintain a meditative consciousness while surrounded by the relentless chaos of New York City. If there is any proof needed of the value of the practice -- this was it. I have returned to Yoga Care for a number of weeks now to do their breathing and meditation workshops and am beyond grateful for my 'forced' weekend in their kind care and have been inspired to make meditation part of my life as I've already begun to see the results.

My one caveat is this, although I appreciate the full circle pulse classes, there's are just too many being offered and it is not nearly as good/beneficial as a reg bikram yoga class. I really think they should just offer it once or twice a week because it is a complement to hot yoga but when they add it in all the time during time slots that are convenient for me when I would rather be taking the regular hot yoga, well that really sucks big time and it makes me upset. And sad/mad combo if that is a thing. People who are on the same page probably get what I'm saying. Please I love the studio. For the love of Bikram yoga and normal people who want to advance in yoga and who also are not overweight or have any Heath body issues, please limit the fcp classes since I'm comming for a workout/detox generally and the fcp class just isn't doin it for me, although yes it is beneficial to take once or twice a week to keep my body in check with the alignment. Ok I have said my peace and I hope you take this into account. Gracias. UPDATE!!!!! Ok yes, yes Candace you are right about those classes just being offered twice a week and I'm sorry I wrote how it was way more times a week and how I didn't like that at all. I guess I just wish the Friday evening class was just a regular ol bikram class if I really had to gripe about something. But no biggie cuz I ended up taking a dance class at that time slot so it worked out fine. I don't know who you are but I love you Candace, thank you for clarifying and ok yeah I think you are definitely running things extremely well there! Yoga people are the best!!! I hung out wif some losers once at a comedy club who said they hated yoga people and went on and on about it, but they obvi have major issues. Weirdos. I def don't talk to them anymore.
