I was nervous about going here because I've never went to a business using Yelp before but it turned out to be a great experience. Everyone here is super nice and respectful and I just signed up for a second dance cycle. You don't even need any experience. Just have fun!

I absolutely love the SIQ community and will provide an in-depth review. Grab a snack because it's quite long haha! My experiences (salsa classes): Beginner 1 with Victoria (Vicki): starts from the basic (foundation) step, and introduces more elaborate/technical moves each class. Vicki is amazing. She pushes us to challenge ourselves and somehow, even when I felt there was no way I could master a step, by the end of the class I'd be gracefully executing it, and feeling so accomplished! She has a great way of working with people of all levels, and she breaks it down until *everyone* in the room feels confident. I took Beg 1 twice and learned new moves each time. There is time reserved for partnerwork (so important!) and the staff all respect your wishes (they don't assume you want to lead/follow based on gender, allow you to mix or stay with one partner during session, etc.). Beginner Partnerwork with Vicki: This class really helped me to open up and trust- to FOLLOW my partner! I always felt challenged but never overwhelmed, and Vicki had us cracking up while somehow covering everything we needed to get through each hour session. I am seriously shocked about how much I learned between this class and Beg 1 in such a short time. One-on-one with Steve: I wanted to take an individual session to assess if I should move on to Beg 2, and Adv PW, and to work on my turns. Steve is like a Mr. Miyagi of salsa hahaha! He is so calm and gave me such good tips, noting I was way too harsh on myself, and making me feel very comfortable (and less self-conscious). I left the session feeling chill- motivated and proud of my progress. Social: I attended one social and had a blast. I brought some friends and family and they all enjoyed it as well! Great DJ, the fun and fantastic SIQ family and Latin music into the night- it was perfect. The staff is always so friendly and courteous. The studio is clean (although you will sweat!) and there are lots of offerings. I am so happy I took a chance and took that first class. I can't imagine not learning and socializing in this community now. If you're still considering it...go for it!!

don't go if you can't stand a room with poor Air conditioning. Main dancing spaces are oddly shaped and poorly built.

It was the best decision we made. Leo choreographed our entire dance within the first three lessons, and from there he helped us fine‑tune every detail. He prepared us for different scenarios, gave us tips to make sure we always looked confident and comfortable, and made every session fun, positive and encouraging. He was also incredibly flexible and easy to work with when it came to scheduling, which made the whole experience even smoother during a busy wedding planning season. On our wedding day, our guests raved about our first dance. Multiple people told us it was the best they've ever seen and that is entirely thanks to Leo. He turned two total beginners into dancers who felt proud, relaxed, and excited to be on the floor. What an incredible experience. Thank you Leo for giving us a moment we'll remember forever. We highly, highly recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional instructor!

A little background, I am not what you would call a dance enthusiast, I am fairly shy when it comes to the dance floor and don't like attention. Leo made the experience totally comfortable and after 1 listen to our first dance song, started developing a routine that was really impressive. By the end of our sessions, I was confident to present our dance to our friends and family, and I didn't look like a total doofus on the dance floor! He even included a lift that made the attendees applaud. We are very thankful to Leo for his talents and making the experience completely comfortable. It was absolutely confidence builder for me, I can't recommend Leo enough. Also, the routine he developed for us photographed really well, I am so happy with this experience.

I have seen people work so hard and really grow in short amounts of time here (one of those people are me ). I have been able to grow as an absolute beginner adult (I took ballet, jazz and tap for maybe a year or two when I was a child, but it was no longer affordable so I stopped). I have not only learned foundational vocabulary and techniques in the absolute beginner intensive offered by Suzana and her amazing teachers and students (worth every dollar and drop of sweat haha!), but I have become absolutely obsessed about Classical Ballet and its history! As a Queens native, I love how convenient the location of this studio is, as opposed to traveling somewhere out in Manhattan twice a week. Wildheart Studio has a very cozy feel to it, and inspirational quotes and pictures surround the walls of the studio. I love being challenged physically and mentally here (I've been going for 6 months now), but the best part is having the support of people who dance bravely, make mistakes openly, and shine brightly beside me. Thank you so much Wildheart Studio, Suzana, Gina and all my dear classmates and friends ! You are all inspiring to watch and I feel so lucky to dance with you every week

Most of the songs felt really slow (barely broke a sweat), the moves overall felt disassociated from the music and she would stop doing the moves during class to basically test if we knew what was supposed to come next. Not particularly helpful. She saw a fair amount of women struggling with the moves (including myself) but still chose to do this. There was maybe 2 songs that felt good but everything else was meh. I also didn't like how she incorporated non-dance moves into the choreography which really took me out of the mood of being excited to dance with no judgment. I love Zumba so would be willing to come back to try it with a different instructor, but wouldn't come back for her particular class.

Another friend had taken classes at this academy before and highly recommended it, so the three of us booked an Introduction to Ballet class on Sunday at 12:00. Check-in was quick and easy. The class was $25 for an hour and a half, which I think is very reasonable considering it's from an actual ballet school. There's no strict dress code, which worked out well since none of us owned ballet attire -- we just wore regular workout clothes and socks, and it was perfectly fine. The instructor was wonderful. She started by asking who had never taken ballet before, then positioned the newer students between people with experience so it would be easier to follow along. I really appreciated that, as I have no dance background and definitely found myself lost more than once. Having people around me to follow made it much less intimidating. The class itself was energetic and fun. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made sure to keep things approachable for beginners. I'm sure my form was atrocious and I messed up plenty of times, but nobody cared -- the atmosphere was supportive and welcoming, and everyone was just there to enjoy themselves and keep trying. The class had people of all different skill levels and abilities, and it felt very inclusive. Overall, this was a great introduction class, especially for someone nervous about trying something new. I never once felt self-conscious, and I genuinely had fun. I'd highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to take dance classes, whether you have experience or not. If I were interested in pursuing ballet, I would definitely come back.
