I've taken excellent classes at Wild Heart Performing Arts Studio. Suzana, the owner and head…read moreinstructor, is as sweet as can be and leads with an eye on beauty and her students' growth. A sanctuary of sorts. I highly recommend Wild Heart to anyone interested in dance or movement and fostering their personal development under expert supervision.

This Dance Studio is a BALLET COMMUNITY Not only is the owner, Suzana, a wonderful and…read morehard-working person, but the awesome dancers who attend classes here are non-judgmental, kind and creative individuals. I have seen people work so hard and really grow in short amounts of time here (one of those people are me ). I have been able to grow as an absolute beginner adult (I took ballet, jazz and tap for maybe a year or two when I was a child, but it was no longer affordable so I stopped). I have not only learned foundational vocabulary and techniques in the absolute beginner intensive offered by Suzana and her amazing teachers and students (worth every dollar and drop of sweat haha!), but I have become absolutely obsessed about Classical Ballet and its history! As a Queens native, I love how convenient the location of this studio is, as opposed to traveling somewhere out in Manhattan twice a week. Wildheart Studio has a very cozy feel to it, and inspirational quotes and pictures surround the walls of the studio. I love being challenged physically and mentally here (I've been going for 6 months now), but the best part is having the support of people who dance bravely, make mistakes openly, and shine brightly beside me. Thank you so much Wildheart Studio, Suzana, Gina and all my dear classmates and friends ! You are all inspiring to watch and I feel so lucky to dance with you every week

My husband and I have been wanting to take salsa dance classes for a while, so we were super…read moreexcited when a friend told us about this place! First, it's very affordable! It's around $120 for 4 weeks of classes and each class is an hour and a half long. That's a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me! Next, it's important to know that they have a class schedule that is updated monthly. They offer both salsa and bachata classes and different levels for each one. They have 5 different levels of salsa classes and 2 different levels of bachata classes. So whatever your skill level currently is, you should be able to find a class that works for you! Also, you don't need to have a partner to attend! The class starts by teaching the basic steps as individuals. When it's time for partner work, they have us start with a partner but then we rotate partners throughout the room! That said, if you're wanting a class where you stick with the same partner the entire time, this ain't it. However, if you're looking for a fun time, this is DEFINITELY it! Our instructor, Felipe, has been doing a fantastic job of teaching us! He's got a fun personality, which makes the experience that much better. Oh! They also have social dance nights each month, which you can attend whether or you're not you're a current student for a set price. Anyways, I'm excited to keep learning and taking more classes here! Hopefully you'll feel the same too.

The space is not huge but it was ample enough for us and the other dancers. The instructors were friiendly and engaging. They walked around and helped students. Edmee who leads the team is top notch. her classes are fun and youll get a good workout. I highly recommend bobby as well. if you love latin music his class is extremely fun. the night classes are harder as the crowd tends to be young professionals. in the morning its a bit of an older crowd. Most of the songs felt really slow (barely broke a sweat), the moves overall felt disassociated from the music and she would stop doing the moves during class to basically test if we knew what was supposed to come next. Not particularly helpful. She saw a fair amount of women struggling with the moves (including myself) but still chose to do this. There was maybe 2 songs that felt good but everything else was meh. I also didn't like how she incorporated non-dance moves into the choreography which really took me out of the mood of being excited to dance with no judgment. I love Zumba so would be willing to come back to try it with a different instructor, but wouldn't come back for her particular class.

Another friend had taken classes at this academy before and highly recommended it, so the three of us booked an Introduction to Ballet class on Sunday at 12:00. Check-in was quick and easy. The class was $25 for an hour and a half, which I think is very reasonable considering it's from an actual ballet school. There's no strict dress code, which worked out well since none of us owned ballet attire -- we just wore regular workout clothes and socks, and it was perfectly fine. The instructor was wonderful. She started by asking who had never taken ballet before, then positioned the newer students between people with experience so it would be easier to follow along. I really appreciated that, as I have no dance background and definitely found myself lost more than once. Having people around me to follow made it much less intimidating. The class itself was energetic and fun. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made sure to keep things approachable for beginners. I'm sure my form was atrocious and I messed up plenty of times, but nobody cared -- the atmosphere was supportive and welcoming, and everyone was just there to enjoy themselves and keep trying. The class had people of all different skill levels and abilities, and it felt very inclusive. Overall, this was a great introduction class, especially for someone nervous about trying something new. I never once felt self-conscious, and I genuinely had fun. I'd highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to take dance classes, whether you have experience or not. If I were interested in pursuing ballet, I would definitely come back.
