Best taco truck that reminds me of California. I been searching for something close to authentic…read moreMexican food and I finally found the spot. Please note: It is CASH ONLY. This place had several choices along with several meats to choose from. Soft Tacos to Gorditas you are bound to find something. I choose the tacos Al Pastor, Chicken and Carne Asada. All the meats were fresh and hot with tortillas tasting handmade. Topped with the typical onion and cilantro. They give you salsa on the side. The Gorditas is what got me excited! I love that they use a handmade mass dough to make these. The meat of choice was Carne Asada. They were out of Lengua. I will go back again and again for this. It was my absolute favorite. They have Jaritos to drink. And they have a little market on the side behind all the plants and flowers. You can find the handmade tortillas here along with other goodies for your Mexican dishes. Give it a try!!

I love food trucks. I really really do. I think they are amazing and how much flavor can be packed…read moreon to a small truck always surprises me. I've attended food truck festivals in other cities but this was my first here in Asheville. There were roughly 15 trucks serving up a variety of styles. I went with some friends and my husband and I think between the 4 of us we sampled something from at least 8 of the trucks. I was a big fan of the Farm to Fender truck, and the Peruvian truck.. It wasn't as packed as I was expecting. The lines ebbed and flowed so I never really had to wait too long to order, I just did it in an intelligent order I suppose. We never did manage to snag seats, but that didn't ruin anything in my mind. My two gripes would be: 1. having to buy a wrist band to order adult beverages and not realizing there would only be beer and hard liquor (well, mixed drinks). I guess that's my fault for not asking what was there, but that was a waste of $3 for me. I just wanted a cider. 2. Having to pay to vote for my favorite food truck. I get that this event costs money to put on, but I don't know, I just plain didn't vote because I had bought a useless wrist band to drink. Just my two cents. I totally enjoyed myself and all the wonderful food and can't wait for it to happen again!

What a great way to learn about and try the food trucks around Asheville, just gather them all on…read morethe parking lot of the Masonic Temple and make it a competition for the best one! A truck with music, a bouncy castle for kids and also a couple clothing trucks and you are all set for a great afternoon! We showed up pretty late, around 6 pm but the place was still going strong. Very lovely were the tables all around with fresh flowers on them to sit and enjoy food from different trucks. Tacos, Burgers, BBQ, Farm to Table, Sandwiches, Peruvian... Probably more but I don't remember all. At this time a couple of them were already sold out of some dishes but the boards were easy enough to navigate around the sold out items and plenty of food was still available . We got some special fries from the Peruvian truck that came with garlic sauce and herbs , unfortunately I can't remember their name, they were crunchy and honestly amazing, 5 bucks for a big portion. We also got vegetarian tacos and beans and rice the truck offered different protein options, one of them being queso frito, a sort of grilled cheese that I really liked. Then we tried the fried green tomatoes from the farm to table truck that came with a dip and were breaded with some coarse stuff that was great. Too bad there was no beer or cider, I also missed some dessert options or coffee , cookies? Sweets?? Also the YELP wheel was nowhere to be found although I got a free turn as a special offer... I ll be back next year for sure!
