Since I moved to NYC, I've been taking the Martz bus to visit my family in Scranton pretty regularly. Let's say 6 round trips per year. I have never had any type of issue. I don't think the bus has ever been even ONE MINUTE late leaving Scranton or leaving PABT. While you do get a nice mix of working professionals from the stops in the Poconos, your stereotypes about *who* is taking the bus if not traveling for work are going to be pretty accurate. Is it painful to pay $133.99 to have to sit next to someone who spends the whole trip eating and talking on their phone? Yes. Have I witnessed people drink personal alcohol on the bus? Yes. Did I once witness a man--while on the moving bus--call Martz customer service (rather than speaking to the driver) to ask for the bus to be stopped due to cosmetic damage on the bus's exterior? Yes. Still, these people are greatly outnumbered by respectful commuters. It's not perfect, the price is way higher than you'd expect, but it gets the job done. The peace of mind and quality time with my family has been priceless.

When we got on the bus we were informed that the bathroom was NOT Functioning, REALLY, WHY WAS THAT BUS SENT OUT THAT WAY? That should have been Checked Before it even left for our pick up. That Should NOT Have Happened!!! Also our escort said we would be stopping somewhere but the driver said he wasn't told this and he never asked whether we needed a bathroom break at any point in time until one of the passengers had to ask to stop. That was over a 3 hr ride and most of us didn't get the chance to use restrooms before getting the bus thinking we could use the one on the bus. NOT a good ride back home. I entered a marked crosswalk with a green light and pedestrian crossing signal activated, hence I had right of way. Their coach initiated a left turn and would have run me over had I not pushed myself off it and launched myself back from the center lane of a 3-lane street. The driver then waved to me in a dismissive way 2 blocks later. I had flipped him off right before his wave after collecting myself and his explanation, as conveyed by management, was that this was his way of saying "sorry", though it was clearly an "eff you" back in reaction to my gesture (bear in mind i didn't just nearly kill him and in response to my reaction) Management initially seemed concerned about this when I made them aware of the situation. They first escalated it to their insurance company (trying to cover liability, no doubt, in my estimation), but their insurance company said that the footage from the bus's cameras was inconclusive due to glare. Upon that finding, management immediately ceased dialogue with me, noting they've addressed the matter internally (refused to share any color), and that I will not be hearing from them again. This was after chasing them again for over a week from the last interaction. I've not ridden on Elite, but I would advise caution given my experience with a reckless and entitled driver employed by them compounded by management's seemingly lacking commitment to safety and accountability - at least in my view. Though I'd be happy to reengage with management to better appreciate they take this seriously. My offer to speak with them to understand what actions they've taken still stands.

This was back in 2023 and then the announcement came that they were going out of business at the end of the year and they would honor any gift cards by sending a check. I had my daughter go into the business show them the gift card and gave my name,address and phone number so they had all the information there but they never sent a $75 check even though she was there before the end of December 2023. When I called them about this saying that I never received the check, they looked in their file and saw that my name was associated with a gift card so they had the information but I said to them I never received the $75 check because I checked with my bank where I would have made the deposit. They offered no way of compensating that even though they have the information knowing that they did not issue me a $75 refund. Not sure if the owner of the company knows how this process was not fully compensating people that had given them the information that they also had in their files. If they could see that the gift card was not honored you think they would have said we will still send you a $75 check since you did not receive that from them.

The main user is Martz Trailways of course but it also has Greyhound and it used to have Susquehanna Trailways buses stop in on Friday and Sunday (not sure if they do any more). This stop is very busy in the mornings and evenings with commuters for New York City and for that purpose only it serves the community well.

The shelter is not heated so winter wait is somewhat chilly. Overall it is a convinient place to commute from given the large number of buses servicing the stop.
