I was recently selected as the chairperson for a trip to Washington, DC by our VFW post. Lucky me..... I have never booked a bus trip before. I have only ever gone on bus trips as a passenger with other groups. I didn't have a clue what to do so I just searched online and started calling places. I figured in my head, hey I get the cheapest price and the guys will be happy. The first couple companies I called were nice enough, and gave me prices, but certainly did not go out of their way to make me feel that comfortable or make this any easier on an old guy like me. Honestly, Werner Coach was the last place I called. I'm so glad I made that one last call to Werner! The woman who answered the phone transferred me to the sales manager, Lynsey. What a blessing! I apologized that I didn't really know what I was doing, but I needed a rate for a bunch of us guys to go to DC. She was so nice and knew exactly what questions to ask about what we wanted to do. Things the other companies didn't ask about rest stops, itinerary, she suggested places we could stop to eat and was just a joy. She was so accommodating even until the day before the trip when she called to confirm all the details. When our bus arrived earlier than expected I breathed a sigh of relief. The bus was clean, the AC worked, and it was comfortable. The driver pulled up, got out and introduced himself and shook my hand. His name was Jason. He went over the itinerary with me to make sure there were no last minute changes. Everyone loaded and we were on our way. Jason's driving was excellent. He was very cautious and safe. Even in Washington, DC. There was so much traffic and some of the streets are narrow and he handled it like a pro. Throughout the day he was on time and ready even when we were running late a few times. He pointed out sights to us as we drove by which was appreciated. We got home a little late due to traffic, but it was an awesome trip thanks to Werner. From the first call, to the time Jason dropped us off, they were first class. I took a group of 53 guests on a bus trip to Connecticut from Philadelphia for a 3 day trip. I requested a newer bus because of the distance and was told that they now have a new fleet of buses. I had a problem with this bus company before and was willing to give them another chance. In the past, one of their buses broke down on us on a trip and it took hours for a new bus. I lost a lot of business because of this. I vowed I would never use this bus company again. Why didn't I listen to my gut. Now, here we go again. The bus that was sent out this time was an old bus, not what I was told I would get. I complained about the problems to the bus driver. The bus driver stated this is what they had left on the yard. Most of the TV's on the bus didn't work. The PA system didn't work. The air conditioning was not equally distributed throughout the bus. It was freezing cold in the back of the bus and hot as hell in the front of the bus and it was 80-85 degrees outside. We really learned of the age of the bus when we returned home. Upon leaving Connecticut it was a bad storm. The bus was raining on the inside. Yes, literally raining/pouring on the inside. How embarrassing for my business and how upsetting for my guests. These customers paid top dollar for transportation as apart of a package. We called the bus company and was told by dispatch that all of their buses were out for the day and that they would not be able to get another bus to us. We traveled with the bus leaking on the inside on passengers for 4 hours. It was a nightmare. Several people had clothing and items ruined. The water was even leaking in the area of the bus driver as he was driving. The bus driver was livid as well and continued calling dispatch constantly. He was cursing and fussing. He understood and agreed with our anger. Finally, when we were almost home dispatch called to say they could provide a bus to us when we were less than 45 minutes home. Yeah right. This was just a ploy to act like they were trying to get us help. I have a travel agency business and lost several guest because of this bus company. I had to refund transportation fees to several guests. I called the bus company to receive some type of refund and apology and received no return call. I emailed the bus company several times and received not response. What type of company does not respond. I'm so upset. I will be writing reviews on every site I can. Please, I beg you, do not use this bus company at all! A good customer service practice would be to face the customer and own up to your bus problems and apologize. I didn't ask for all of the money back. I though 25% back would have been fair. Werner SUCKS!!! read more

I booked a bus months in advance for a business event. The communication in the beginning was great but that only lasted until they received my deposit. We finalized plans a couple of weeks before the event. It took 3 calls and no response to emails in order to get the updated invoice. I was told I would receive the bus driver's information the day before the event. At 3 PM on the day before I hadn't heard anything. When I called I was told she was busy with other things and I would have it before the end of the day. I called the next day as it hadn't been received and was told it was sent but while we were on the phone she composed the email and sent which I then received. The driver was given the wrong pickup information, which was admitted by the Linsey who stated she runs the business. That resulted in our people waiting in a parking lot in King of Prussia for over an hour and arriving late for the event. I asked to have the owner, Heath, call me, when this happened. To date I have not heard from him. I emailed to ask how this mistake would be addressed and reminding them that I was waiting for a call from the owner. No response at all. I would never use this company again. read more

It is 88 degrees outside and 108 degrees on the bus. How the heck so you send out a bus with no working air on a day like this? Our other bus is spewing noxious fumes and the kids are gagging from it. Lastly, the drivers are rude. Seriously, if you are going to charter a bus from here, you would be better off walking. read more

This is a long overdue review, but here it goes: We used Werner for our wedding shuttle. We procrastinated so it was a fairly last minute booking, but they were great to work with. Lynsey H was very accommodating and responsive. The driver was professional, on time and the bus was clean. They were also very reasonably priced relative to other companies. Will never, ever take another trip in this coach. To start the driver was 40 minutes late. The bus claimed to have Wifi but did not. There were no blinds against the blaring morning sun, no cupholders, and no outlets. Then there was the bathroom. Common courtesy would suggest that maybe, just maybe this company would have thought to empty the toilet before our journey from Columbia, PA to Stamford, Ct. The bathroom reeked and fumigated the entire bus! This caused already anxious passengers to point fingers at who stunk up the toilet and a verbal confrontation ensued making for a very uncomfortable trip. There was also no hand sanitizer in bathroom. A half hour into our travel he decides to stop at a rest stop - for a complete 30 minutes although we were already late! To make matters worse the driver did not keep on top of traffic patterns and got us stuck in an accident in Philadelphia for 3 hours. We ended up missing our first schedule event (and reason for the travel) because of being a few hours late. The ride home didn't go any better. The bus lingered on the street prior to departure bumping our travel home smack in the middle of rush hour NYC traffic. Then there was the unexpected change in driver. We sat at the King of Prussia rest stop from 6:22 - 7:10 waiting for the other driver to relieve him. An informed rider alerted the new driver of an accident ahead that closed all the turnpike lanes. Fortunately this person knew this because otherwise the driver was not checking traffic conditions. Then we got stuck again on Rt 30 twice because of construction - again because the driver did not stay on top of conditions. He could have easily turned off and went 896. Overall, what was supposed to be a three hour trip to Ct turned out to be a 1.5 hours in Ct and about 15 hours on a stinky bus! read more

This is a company that did not provide the service contracted and paid for, and whose owner never returned any of my calls. We had contracted for 2 buses to take (1) the wedding party and (2) the guests from the hotel to the venue. The first bus, for the wedding party, went to the destination--the venue--instead of to the hotel, making it necessary for the bride, groom, best man and maid of honor to rush to the venue in a taxi. The rest of the wedding party was delayed as well. This error resulted in additional expense and stress, and since all services had to be paid in advance, there was no way to recover. I called the owner multiple times. Each time, a secretary told me he "always" returned calls. He never ever returned mine. Mistakes happen. Apologies make them somewhat better. An owner who ignores customers whose contracts are not fulfilled as agreed doesn't deserve to have customers. There are other companies. Use them instead. read more

I called Werners in a panic, because the bus company I had lined up for my companies' trip backed out @ 4pm the day before the trip. Lynsey was very helpful and had my bus booked in about 5 minutes. This bus company is by far the worst! The bus driver Mr. Joseph Berry was rude and had no concern for the passengers safety. Running red lights, talking on the phone(about us), almost hit 2 people with his reckless driving, stuff was falling down from the over head storage and hitting people in the head... he did nothing to fix it. The ac didn't work on bus 874. This was just a horrible mistake booking with them. Save your money! If you do book with them at least save your self from Mr. Joseph Berry. read more

I would rather not give one star but I had no choice. I was asked to come in for an interview and application. I waited for an hour and a half for a interview. Asked to come back the next week in the middle of a rainstorm. I arrived 15 mins early, 45 minutes after waited , Finally the manager approaches me. She then informed me that there is no trainer that is there to train . I sat there and waited and waited and waited for this. Then saids, thank you so much and I will give you a call when we can reschedule your trainer. I drive 25 mins Back home in a rain storm, never received the call. What a joke, I would definitely never recommend this company to anyone... absolutely ridiridiculous and very unprofessional. read more

I used Werner Coach for our wedding transportation (taking guests from hotel to reception and back again). We ordered a luxury coach bus, which I believe is all they have anyway. The price was reasonable, the bus was on time (early), everything was clean, and the driver was very nice (put up with a bunch of loud drunks on way back). They did everything I needed. I rode a Werner Coach last weekend for my friend's wedding. Our driver Dan was super friendly and drove us safely to the ceremony and back to our hotel. Bus was clean and beautiful. AC was cranking on full blast and almost turned us into ice cubes, which felt amazing because it was over 90 degrees outside! BEWARE /CAUTION/ DESCRIPTION of UNSAFE CONDITIONS FOLLOW : On Sunday Sept.1. I boarded a Werner Coach to Atlantic City. First of all the driver was 10 minutes late to arrive at our stop.He proceeded to travel to the next and final stop where he left 1 too many people on the bus.This left a person without a seat.I had yelled up and informed him of this and he ignored me.The lady then sat in the isle of the bus which was illegal and a huge Safety concern for everyone on the bus.I then called the on call at Werner to explain the situation. Next thing the driver anchored the bus in a ghetto section in Philadelphia where everyone felt UNSAFE & SCARED ! We had to sit there for almost an hour until Werner sent transportation to pick up 4 volunteers of persons that did not want to continue on the dreadful trip. With this all said we arrived in A.C. 2 hours late which meant we were late coming back. On the way back the driver drove recklessly running Red Lights. On the following Tuesday I had called the Corporate office of Werner reporting all of this drivers UNSAFE BEHAVIOR. Heather in Customer Service took my call and I have to say she was quite rude never even apologizing for inconveniencing my wife and I. She also told me that she would get back to me about the situation LATER ON THAT DAY. Two days later she has yet to return my call. Needless to say I am totally finished with Werner Tours. I had the opportunity to ride a Werner coach for the first time last week after my friend's wedding. The driver Jason was exceptionally friendly and made several trips back in a timely fashion to and from our wedding venue to the hotel in the city. The bus was clean, comfortable, and I would definitely use Werner again and recommend for your next group trip or weekend getaway! My trip would have been a total disaster if it were not for the Bus driver Dave. He drove for us to a destination that had to cancel and not accept our group due to an unforeseen emergency. It was a 3 hour drive with inclement weather, but the driver drove with ease and care. I saw first hand how the company warned him to detour and exit due to a serious accident. We were able to avoid any delays and arrive safely to our destination .He was warm and accommodating to everyone on the bus. His wit, great personality, humor, and intelligence helped to make for a nice trip even though we were unable to visit the place that we had reserved. I look forward to riding with Dave in 2 months. I am sure that we will visit our place that we reserved and that the ride will be just as enjoyable the second time around. read more

We are senior citizens that drove 1 hour 10 minutes on Sat. to get one of their casino buses. Upon getting to the destination and going in the store to buy tickets, we were told that Werner had just called to say the trip had been cancelled. I called Werner's and was told the bus broke down. You mean to tell me that they don't have another bus to take its place. I had called Werner's two times through the week to verify that the casino bus was going to Atlantic City on Sat. and was assured they was going. On Monday I called and explained about the circumstances of us being senior citizens that we wasted gas, driving up to one of their stops. It was our anniversary and it was quite a disappointment. I told them the clerk in the store had suggested that we call Werner and ask about a comp ticket for our inconvenience. He said that Werner had done that in the past. I was quickly told we are not going to compensate anyone for the cancellation. I didn't ask about anyone else, I only asked about us. It's pretty sad that a company as large as Werner can't give one $28.00 ticket for an inconvenience that they caused. It was two of us and I didn't even ask for two tickets. My husband even sent them an email about the situation and they never answered the email either. Customer service can make a business or break a business; there customer service is non-existent unless you are ordering a bus. Thanks for caring about your customers. read more

I was on a Werner Bus yesterday and it was great. The bus arrived on time, in fact it was early. Driver was well dressed and polite. When we needed to wait a few extra minutes for one of our other group members to arrive, the driver was super flexible which made the day a relaxing experience. I learned from the driver that they just put a ton of money into upgrading their fleet, purchasing 9 new buses over the past year. All in all, our trip was great, and I would recommend Werner Coach to anyone! read more

In my experience, Werner buses have been consistently unreliable in both service and timeliness. I was recently left stranded on the side of the highway on a Werner bus. The company was unable to provide an alternate bus nor service the current one in a timely manner. The bus service was left to call other services in attempt to find us a suitable way to get back. It is consistent practice like this that forces me to leave a less than par review. Attending an institution that is a normal customer of Werner, many of my peers have had similar experiences. Of course, I don't write on behalf of that institution, but I wanted to speak from the experiences that myself and those I know who regularly use the service. I can't speak on the customer service aspect on Werner, because I don't typically interact with them on that level, but because I, as a student who needs reliable and timely transportation services, am left unable to recommend Werner. I hope their service on a week to week level improves because their service as it stands is frustrating at best. read more

I'm a teacher. My school recently finished using Werner Coach for a class trip to Harrisburg. First things first, the bus was super clean and the seats very comfortable. We hit some traffic on the way up, so that was important. Our bus driver, Frank was very nice and had a great sense of humor. He didn't mind a little noise, kids were a little rowdy, so we sang him a thank you song on the way back. We were picked up and dropped off on time. Totally unprofessional. Got on a bus, but 3 stops later I was told they didn't have enough people on the bus to make the trip. What the heck are you talking about? I purchased a ticket to a destination and was never told by anyone they only make the trip if they have 15 people or more. It isn't stipulated in the rules on the back of the ticket either. Called customer service and they were rude and not helpful. Will never again use this sorry excuse for a transportation service read more

My friend booked a Werner bus to take us all from Philly to medieval times for her birthday in January. Not having to worry about anyone drinking and driving was a HUGE relief. The driver was really friendly and arrived to pick us up on time (unlike other companies we've worked with where we have to make a million phone calls to locate the driver - can you say "buzz kill"). The bus was clean and comfortable for the trek to NJ. And they even let us BYOB/wine on the bus so everyone could tie one on before the show. All in all, it was a smooth trip. If I could have, I would have given Werner 0 stars. We used them for a field trip to DC yesterday and the buses were in horrendous condition. There were cracks in the bus where you could tell that the bus had hit something. The bathroom window was also cracked and looked like a baseball had hit it. The bus drivers were not prepared at all for the trip and did not know how to get to DC or drive from destination to destination while in DC. We spent much time driving in circles as they attempted to get us to our destinations. They also do not have a walkie talkie system for communication and the only way they could communciate with each other was to get off the bus and talk on the sidewalk. The bus was far from clean and when the trash can was full, the driver refused to empty it. Apparently, that isn't part of his job. The seats are extremely uncomfortable and there is no legroom. THere are no jacks for people to use to charge their electronics and there was no wifi compatibility even though the side of the bus said that there was. I will never ride on a Werner bus again! read more

We contracted a 33 passenger mini-bus for our wedding guests. The office staff that we dealt with beforehand were terrific. There was lots of communication right up until the wedding. However, that's where the positive ended. The driver, while a nice man, was pathetically ill informed as to the event needs, the air-conditioning did not work (and the heat index was 103), and my sister had to walk the driver through the entire 12:00-9:00 event. It was so disappointing! Although I contacted the office the Monday after the event and was told our concerns would be forwarded to the customer service person, we have not had anyone reach out to us by Friday afternoon. This compounds the feeling that no one cares once they have your money. read more

I have been teaching for over twenty years, and I have never experienced a worse bus trip than I did yesterday.After showing up two hours late, the bus drivers were hostile and incompetent. The buses were old. Two of the buses did not have working air conditioning on a hot day. Also, the video system did not work on three buses. They had no means of communication besides phones while they drove. Two of the buses did not even have that. We were left having to walk for blocks in order to find buses for pick-up. The driver on my bus was actually yelling at us and cursing. We had to remain calm and not say a thing since she was threatening to pull over and not continue to drive.We were concerned for our safety, and one student was actually crying due to her fear of the driver.We had many chaperones and even the assistant principal that witnessed this horrible situation.I highly recommend finding a different bus company. We will NEVER use their services again. I can't imagine this was an isolated incident. read more
