They think of the little things. I had made my appointment online a couple of weeks before using one of the flyers that came in the mail, I scanned the QR code. I did put it in my phone as a reminder however I actually put in the wrong day, I would have been a day late however they sent me a reminder text to let me know that hey your appointment is coming up. Amazing, and very timely! I spoke mainly with Brandon and in all my years I have never spoken to any car repair place and receive such great service. He listened to my concerns as I have a few because my car is older. They kept me apprised of every step of the way. From initial diagnostics, when they finish them they sent me a link that took me to a website but not only detailed information about what needed to be done, but also recommendations with PICTURES to show what they were talking about. I was able to show them to my brother who was mechanic in New Jersey he said I see their concern and he agreed on their diagnostics, but we're getting rid of the car within a year so no need to do those things right now. When I spoke to Brandon we talked about what needed to be done for the inspection, the things that I wanted to have done extra including the oil and having an A/C repaired, and there was zero hard sell of any of the other options that were recommended but not needed at time of service. I have never had such an amazing experience at a mechanic shop in all my years and I can guarantee I will never go to another auto repair shop as long as I live in this area, I finally found the best mechanics around and trust me I've been to probably just about all of them including dealerships. I had a tricky battery issue that they helped me sort out over the past week, and they were nothing but honest, patient, and helpful the whole way through. This place is a disgrace to the automotive industry, and the owner, Luigi, should not be in business. I brought my son's car in for inspection stickers -- something simple. Luigi kept the car for TWO WEEKS and never did any work. No inspection. No repairs. Not even a phone call. Just silence, excuses, and complete disregard for our time. During that time, my son and I had to share my car -- all while he was preparing for his high school graduation. He had graduation rehearsals, a job to get to, and so did I. This caused real stress and hardship, but Luigi didn't care. He held the car hostage without explanation. When we called for updates, he was rude and nasty every single time. After two weeks of no progress, we went to the shop in person to get answers. What happened next was appalling. As soon as I entered the building -- calmly and respectfully -- Luigi came storming through the door, screaming at me in front of my teenage son. I hadn't even said a word. He yelled, "I'll call you when it's ready!" then shouted, "Take your paperwork and your car and GET OUT!" He was angry, aggressive, and hostile, acting as though I had no right to even be there. To make things worse, his wife was just as rude, cold, and completely unprofessional. Let me be clear: I am an African-American woman, and based on how I was treated -- with open hostility, no provocation, and no professionalism -- I strongly believe this was racially motivated. Luigi spoke to me with a level of disrespect and aggression that made me feel targeted, humiliated, and unsafe. My son watched it all unfold, and it was heartbreaking. Luigi originally quoted $250 for inspection stickers -- yet no service was performed. Just two weeks of delays, verbal abuse, and a total lack of accountability. Even though I feared for my life in that moment, one thing is certain: this will be the last time Luigi ever screams at a Black woman like that without being held accountable. He may have thought he could get away with it -- but not this time. If you are a woman, a person of color, or simply someone who expects to be treated with dignity and respect, then this is not the place for you. I will never go back. I will never recommend this business. And I will make sure everyone I know stays far away from Five Points Gulf Service Center in Blue Bell, PA. And I've always been skeptical with mechanics but Uri Auto has never yet (in the last 3-4 years) given me any cause for concern. Solid work and reasonable prices, down to even the smallest tasks. It's difficult for me to characterize any car mechanic as trustworthy (unless you know all there is to know about cars/maintenance and can judge prices and quality of work for yourself) but Uri Auto is as close as it's going to get! We had a very negative experience recently and won't be returning. Not sure how we could trust them after this... Took our car to hinks as we've done for years for an inspection. Was quoted over $2,750 for repairs necessary to make the car pass inspection. With such a high price tag to fix an older car, we actually considered trading it in for a new car before ultimately deciding to get it fixed. Priced out the parts online and found that with labor, should've been able to get the car repaired for about half the price. Took it to another area garage that confirmed they'd be able to do the repair for $1,200, so we went with that garage. When they went to do the work, we got a call from them and I was expecting bad news and additional repairs / money needed... but they actually told me that they couldn't find any of these major problems with the car. There was only one minor fix needed. Car passed inspection and the inspection and minor repair cost me $125. I was so shocked that I took it to a 3rd garage and asked them to review the issues Hinks had identified and the 3rd garage confirmed they couldn't find any sign of those issues. Feel taken advantage of by a business we've been supporting for years. Would've been taken for a $2,500 ride if we didn't get a second opinion.

Since my first oil change over two years ago, I have brought my car to Ambler Tire for safety/emissions inspection, alignment work, and new tires. When I called Ambler Tire, the owner (Dave) answered and I requested an oil change. I gave him the year, make, and model of my car. He instantly said I would need the synthetic oil which is more expensive than standard oil. I said that's okay because I know my car manual recommends synthetic oil. When I called the other four places, they gave me a price for a standard oil change and didn't even ask for what type of car. I asked what if I need synthetic oil and they said it would be 2-3 times as much as the standard oil change. Based on those phone calls, I immediately decided on Ambler Tire which seemed to be the most knowledgeable, experienced, and actually cared about my car. After calling around to multiple shops, Ambler Tire is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. Their prices are right in the middle. I am okay paying a little more to know that my car is in good hands.

For years my boyfriend, mom and I had been taking our cars to places like Pep Boys. Where the service was average, the cost was pretty steep, and well, it's overall just very impersonal. Half the time I felt like there would be a major problem WITH my car AFTER taking it to them for something routine. Luckily, about 8 years ago we found Willow Grove Auto. And I can never imagine taking our vehicles to anyone else now. First off, its a family run business located right by the Willow Grove Mall. The owner Bernie is a great guy who clearly prides himself on giving customers excellent care, fantastic customer service, and the best price he can give you. In fact, there are always deals or specials, like coupons for inspection, etc. The mechanics there are AMAZING. They are VERY experienced and are great at both older cars (like mine which is a 99 Plymouth Voyager) or newer vehicles. So many times I have described a problem over the phone or when dropping off the car and before they even look at it, they have a good idea of what the problem may be, and what I can expect to pay. They are also excellent at figuring out more complicated issues. I've run into some pretty odd issues with my van after a car accident and they do everything to take care of the problem at a very reasonable price. There's been many times when we have needed help in an emergency. For example, we got a flat tire while leaving for a vacation. We dropped by and they were able to fix it within a half hour so we could get on our way. Growing up I always heard things like "you can't trust mechanics". Or since I am a girl "Make sure you bring a man with you when taking your car in". LOL These statements are just RIDICULOUS when it comes to Willow Grove Auto and do not even SLIGHTLY apply. They do EVERYTHING they can to give you a fair price, an honest evaluation. I can't tell you how many times they have talked to me and explained EXACTLY what they were going to do so I wasn't in the dark. They are always upfront and honest. If they recommend something, it means you need it. These guys aren't gonna go and sell you new tires just to make money if you don't need them. But they WILL do everything they can to keep your vehicle up and running smoothly and safely. And finally, they make the experience simple and pleasant. Everyone is friendly. They take the time to get to know their customers and familiarize themselves with your needs. I'm often surprised by how much they remember without even looking up the details in the system! They also know money is tight for me, so they ALWAYS call with an estimate before doing anything major to the vehicle. I could go on and on about how great they are but rather than do that, I urge you to take your vehicle to them just once.
