Kemco of Burlington - Kemco Team

Unexpected ac failure resulted in a replacement of my HVAC units. I had their sales team come out…read moreto discuss options and we determined we needed both systems replaced. The team was professional, proactive and communicated with me in detail. The installation was timely and without issues. Highly recommend Kemco for your HVAC needs and after sales service. They stand behind their work! Did I mention they also beat the competitions price!!

My wife and I had an unfavorable experience. Recently our home HVAC system has been not performing…read moreas it should, so my wife called Kemco on Tuesday (07/19/22) and scheduled an appointment for 07/22/22. My wife and I were shopping around to get the best deal and save money and see Kemco has a deal posted on their website (screenshot is included in the review as to it's still found on the website) for 79.95 for a cooling service. The top 3 rated equivalent companies offered a similar deal. Since my wife and I used Kemco for our generator service in the past and had a positive experience, we decided to give them our business again. This would be the last time. The technician wasn't the issue, the technician was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. The issue is their bait and switch tactic. When my wife scheduled the appointment she mentioned the deal the dispatcher on the line didn't correct my wife about the deal or allude to any contingencies on the deal. When it came to pay the technician for the service, the total was 140$ instead of the advertised 79.95$. The only service that was done was cleaning the coils on the outside heat pump and an inspection of the HVAC system. My wife pulled the deal found on the website and showed the technician what was advertised. The technician called management staff, they were unreasonable and unwilling to see the error in their ways. Instead my wife was told if we wanted do the cooling service we would need to schedule an appointment. An appointment something like we just scheduled.

I recently purchased an electric vehicle (EV) and was looking to get a home charger installed. Duke…read moreEnergy has an EV charger prep program to get reimbursed for preparing your home or garage with said charger. They will reimburse up to $1,133. After extensively asking Duke all the questions to get this reimbursement, I asked for a list of contractors they have worked with. They gave me a list of 5+ electric companies. Go Green was the 3rd one I called and the only one that answered. Right away, they showed me elevated service. I explained the situation to them and they offered a free consultation to come check out my garage and give me an estimate for the EV charger installation. The very next week, Richie, the technician, came out and met with my husband to check out the space. The first estimate was a little more than what we wanted to spend (with one expensive part being the cost of the surge protector). My husband asked if we could provide the surge protector would Go Green supply the labor for installation. Richie said they could do that and also that he will come up with 5 different customizations of estimates based on different services and promotions. Richie left and within a few hours, the estimates were in my email inbox. I ended up choosing one of the mid-level ones and signed the invoice ocking in the price. Go Green had to order some parts so installation happened a little over 2 weeks later. Richie was the technician for installation too. It took him and his partner a little over 2 hours to install the charger. The city also needed to approve the charger so Richie said Go Green would handle the communication with them so they could come out. I did put in a request with him for a certain day and the city was able to accommodate. Once I received all my documents (the proof of EV registration, my paid invoice, and the approved permit), I applied for Duke's EV charger prep program. I was rejected about a week-ish later for not having an itemized invoice up to their standards. I immediately called Go Green and told them what happened and within the hour, they emailed me a new invoice which I re-submitted to Duke. Two weeks later, Duke emailed me approval for the program and two weeks after that, I received my check in the mail. This is a long review, but I wanted to explain the full process of working with Go Green to get approved for the EV charger prep program. I cannot recommend them enough. They are efficient and professional. I am extremely happy with their work!

Chisholm Service - One of our many service vans!

    Chisholm Service

I can honestly say that from start to finish my experience with Chisholm Service exceeded my…read moreexpectations! This whole process reminded me of how personal customer service used to be back before the push for speed and automation got in the way of individual customer care. I was in need of replacing my upstairs AC and furnace this Spring, but I really wanted to find the best price for a quality service and product, as this was going to be a major expense for me. I called around and had reps from at least 5 different companies in my area come to look at the situation and provide me with a quote. Chisholm's quote was the best price by a small margin, but it was the patience with which they handled my many questions regarding the varying systems, SEER vs. SEER2 ratings, and components that really got my attention right from the start. While some of the other companies came in the door trying to upsell me on things, Chisholm did not. Other companies also followed-up their initial visit with an automated system-generated quote that ONLY gave me an opportunity to click a button to accept it (and no way to send a simple reply email with any questions). Chisholm followed-up such automated emails with personalized emails and/or text messages that were easy to respond to. Chisholm also then took the time to answer more of my questions as I tried to compare the many quotes that I had received (which in most cases was quite confusing and seemed a bit like trying to compare apples to oranges). On installation day, Chisholm was on time and their technicians were friendly and easy to work with. They answered my questions and got the job done without any issues arising from my perspective. During the installation, they told me that this new (stronger) system should really have a larger fuse and advised that one of their team members would bring that by another day. Sure enough, I soon received a call to schedule that and when that more senior technician came by to do that simple job - he also inspected all of the work that had been done... this is what REALLY impressed me, as he noted a few items of concern that could have been done better and advised that he could come by the next week to repair those. Indeed, that next week he was back and completed small corrections on several of the initial installation configurations. He also noted that they would share the info with the initial install crew so that they could continue to improve. All in all, I am exceedingly pleased with the service that I had from Chisholm. I know that no company can provide 100% perfect service to all of their customers 100% of the time, but I do feel that I was somehow blessed to have received the fantastic service that I did. I originally thought that the name of this company was a little unusual since it didn't even mention "air conditioning", but in hindsight I now realize why 'Service' is in the name, as it really is what they provided to me (beyond the product and labor). I would HIGHLY recommend Chisholm Service to anyone. I truly found them easy to work with and extremely reasonable in their business practices.

According to them, $464 is actually what they would normally charge to come on a weekend, vacuum out two drain pans, put in a small valve, and check (not fill!) the r22 on two systems... that's for about an hour of work! Since I was so upset the company reimbursed me $150, so I am grateful for that. I know they do good work. But I gotta figure something else out.
