Both years the doctor got offended when I declined her upsell attempts. When you check in, the standard check in paperwork is you consenting to pay additional for non-necessary tests and then act like I'm the asshole for declining after I realized the scam they were running! Also they shipped my contacts to the wrong address even after I confirmed it in writing. No apology or accountability. I had to go drive to the wrong address in the middle of the workday to retrieve. They get two stars instead of one star because they can, in fact, give prescriptions for glasses and contacts. Just don't hope for much else.

I love how I am greeted warmly and am treated very personably every visit! They have great technology to make sure your eyes are receiving the best care. As others have noted, the support staff at the front is shockingly out of tune with their patients (that term should actually be "customers", because this is NOT a medical service provider. Furthermore, it becomes evident quickly that these gatekeepers don't really know what they're doing or how to do it. When they become self conscious about that, they will step up efforts to gaslight you and really make you pay for their own ineptitude. Once you get past the gargoyles at the front, you begin with the basic series of eye tests from a technician who is already trying to upsell your exam with alternatives to pupil dilation. Odd, but okay whatever, let's continue. Off to the exam room. I was not able to see Dr Nash, but the doctor I did get was good, hence the second star. She seemed efficient, knowledgeable, and thorough, although she was quite cold and not very personable. Okay exam is over, time to pick some frames. But from where? It had struck me that the selection seemed rather sparse when I first walked in, but I thought surely there must be some out-of-sight show room or a hidden display somewhere with ample selection. They certainly have the space at the facility. But, nope. What you see is what you get and let me tell ya, it's not much. I would feel confident estimating that the options were 1/20th of what you'd find with any other optometrist. With nothing to settle on, I opted to retain my old frames and just get new lenses with the new prescription. And here's where they level the boom on you; "basic lenses" will still cost you out of pocket. But should you want scratch protection and anti glare coating; $365. Excuse me?? What?! I have top notch insurance, I have never paid anywhere close to that for new glasses (frames and lenses) with all the bells and whistles. "Can you please check that again?" [the ineptitude cogs start clunking] "Yep, that's right" comes the response. Riiiight. Welp, I'm out. Thanks for the new prescription guess I'm ordering online. This place is just milking its customer base for every penny they can get under the guise of "eye care". This is not an eye care center. This is a grossly overpriced eyewear store, and the staff are just salespeople, rude ones at that. The convenience of location for some does not mitigate the negatives.

Without establishing any type of care, they took me in last minute on Halloween when my son scratched my literal eyeball and got me fixed up. They relieved the pain and guided me on how to care for and heal the scratch on my eyeball and they were very caring throughout the entire process!! They didn't overcharge me and they made sure it was the most pleasant experience, despite the circumstances!! I even saw someone walk in from the street with no appointment looking to get her glasses adjusted and they took her right on in, fixed her glasses, her lenses, and had her back on her way within 30 minutes!! Without any impact to the appointments they had scheduled!! Dr. Hoover genuinely gives the most comprehensive, thorough eye exam I've ever had and it was super informative! I learned a lot about my eyes and eyes in general! I really, really enjoyed it! Even when Dr. Hoover is out, he makes sure to have caring and competent optometrists take his place in his absence and they are very nice and knowledgeable as well!! Plus, His lead assistants are the bomb!! They really know their stuff and they're extremely helpful!! Tia is the best!! She always helps me pick out the best and cutest glasses and does not go for the most expensive pair in the shop when she's helping you. You can tell that they all genuinely care. The prices on some items (glasses) are a bit higher than some of their competitors in the storefront scene but I'm hoping that just means they're higher quality. Exams are a bit pricey but I imagine consistent with the field--I always pay more for a visit to the eye doctor than I do for a visit to the family doctor even with vision insurance but I assume that is an insurance issue rather than an issue specific to this establishment. The doctors and nurses I've interacted with as well as the front-end employees here have all been friendly and efficient during my visits. I have occasionally had issues with order notification---that is, calling to see if my glasses or contacts have arrived only to be told "oh, yeah" (I'd have expected the call from them prior to my call). Clean establishment in a decent location and I will likely continue to use them for my eyecare needs while in the area.
