They don't seem to understand people can't respond within 30 mins when they need to reschedule you due technician booked is not available. Not everyone is free all day just to come for lash appt. Unfortunately some of us have a busy schedule, cant come during office hour or the following day or 2 with such short notice. Instead of asking my availability and try to accommodate, they asked if I was seeking to maintain the same refill price passing the time frame. Staff needs some serious communication training. This is such a turn off for a loyal customer. Ive been getting refills consistently for many years, I'm taking my business elsewhere after this experience.

I've had falsies that looked better than my results & will NEVER come back here again. I'll run through the main points: * My lashes ended up looking like they were chopped off at the ends, very unlike what I've seen on the advertised Instagram posts so I was VERY disappointed that I paid $186.00 for them! Just like when you get a haircut, there should be some technique to layering the lashes instead of making them look blunt and unflattering. When I brought this up to their IG account, they said "Monolid are difficult to work with, that's why" ... but isn't that what I'm trusting them to do? Especially after they've constantly advertised their expertise in "choosing the right style for your eye shape". * It was a very unwelcoming atmosphere, one of the lash techs quickly glanced at me when I walked in and there was no one at the front desk so it was completely silent. A simple "hello" would have been nice. I've never been there and this was my first time ever getting lash extensions. This was at their new Midtown East location on grand opening day too. * My lash tech (Lia) poked my right eye so many times it was watering non-stop. I brought this up to one of the workers there and he said it was because my "eyes are sensitive". No, it's not only about my eyes being sensitive because it was actually extremely painful, and only on one eye. Please use gentler hands! * Lia didn't take a photo of my lashes afterwards, even though the man on the phone said ALL of Wink Bar's employees are required to do so. I watched 2 clients who left before me get their photos taken. Was it because mine turned out poorly? I asked them about this over the phone afterwards and they said it was because Lia was "tired and must have forgot" and "she didn't eat lunch" that day... ok then maybe don't overwork your techs so they are fully attentive during the session and treat all customers equally! I took a bunch of videos too to show how unflattering they turned out. * They spoke to me in Chinese right off the bat, which threw me off because their Instagram account gives off a completely different vibe. I expressed that I was not the best at Chinese and responded mostly in English, and could honestly barely hear the lash tech talk to me because she was basically whispering. Plus, not every person who is Asian is able to speak/understand Chinese so I'm not sure if they do this to everyone. * I followed all of the instructions and care tips for my lashes, but ~40% of them fell out by day 4. It felt like an overall waste of money and time. I was really unsatisfied with the results especially after having my hopes up / being so excited to finally visit Wink Bar from across the country.

I was told the tools were cleaned with the alcohol pads but I have never seen or smelled any of those being used. Second, and I think this is the bigger problem - the technician often takes long pauses between lash applications, and I can hear her using her phone. This usually results in much longer appointment time than it needs to be. Obviously I don't like that but I also feel uncomfortable saying something to her because it feels like I'm confronting her. I've just sucked it up all this time until one day, she just left me on the table for more than 5 minutes because she was taking pictures of some stuff that she was selling. When I got to the place I told the receptionist that I wanted my lashed to extend up (glamour like) and that I wanted them thicker. My normal lashes are usually short and straight so I wanted this to standout but will a natural feel. She recommended me lashed from 10-12, C curl with 0.26 thickness. They turned out very well and thank god not all crooked. I love them a lot and the glue doesn't burn, but there were some things that I was concerned about. 1) The tech was very nice, but she accidentally dropped the tool on my forehead. Also, on my right eye she used a little more glue so it hurt a little when she was be brushing apart the lashes.. I could feel the pull. ________________________________________________________________________ 1.5 months later: 2) now to finish my review .....It has been 1.5 months and I still have half of my lashes in tact. However, I have noticed, that compared to another place I've tried last year, more of my real lashes fall off with the lashes. =(. Overall: These are good quality lashes with minimum glue burn. I went back for the second time today and asked for the same exact thing as before, knowing I'll be set and happy for at least another month or two. The facilities are beautiful, the rooms/beds are super comfortable (I'm sure I fell asleep at least a couple of times), the girls that work there are 10/10 friendly and professional. Prices are definitely fair for the quality of work - bring cash if you want a bit if a discount. I know a lot of people scout out different lash places around the city to use groupon and other promotional discounts (I certainly have), but I'm pretty sure I've found my forever go-to place.
