Even if there was anything negative to say, it would be all canceled out by Paula's impeccable attention to detail and her customer service. Paula is friendly, calm, knowledgeable and approachable. Shes the kind of person that will notice when you're having anxiety; she will talk you through it and when she sees you're getting cold, she will offer a blanket. Pro Tip: You will have to lie on your back for up to 1.5 hours, eyes closed the whole time. If you're not back sleeper like me, bring earbuds to play your own music/audiobook/podcast, just in case...and the caffeine must wait! Even if the calming sounds of the "Spa" like music is playing in the Salon and you are in a private room, unfortunately, it will NOT completely drown out the sounds of any of the usual business happenings of a nail salon (i.e phone ringing, talking etc.) So save any caffeine you need that day for after the service! The massage chairs relaxed my back while getting my feet worked on. The salon was clean and well maintained. The technicians were professional and kind. So walk-ins are not the best because they'll put their appointments first which should be expected if you didn't call to make an appointment. I've been going here since i was a kid, since before this became 'Simple Nails' and the customer service is crap. I only go to one nail tech which is the owner because the rest of the nail techs can do simple basic styles, but it's just so overpriced and it's frustrating when I'm asking for this and that with how I want my nails (as simple as my set was today) and the nail tech DOES NOT understand. I can only be patient for so long but i asked for a square shaped kateye and got almond shape and the shift of the kateye isn't the same as I've gotten before and she cut me with the drill a few times on my left thumb. If I am going to pay that much for my nails then it should be exactly how I want them. And after getting off the phone with the owner trying to explain how frustrating it is to pay for a $85 manicure when the nail tech wasn't giving that type of service or the nails weren't how I wanted them, the owner just proceeded to give me attitude. This place really is only good for helping and scamming the elderly, and I see why I don't really see any young ladies going there. I thought things would've went differently after speaking to the owner but she was okay with losing a loyal customer today. I don't like how she knows i am a loyal customer and i tip really good and the one time I make a complaint she wants to give me the attitude? Yeah I wouldn't recommend this place if you're in Waimānalo. Unfortunately it is the only nail salon in Waimānalo.

I sent her some looks I had in mind ahead of time but she also took the time during the appointment to make sure she had the details that I wanted down. My experience with Kelsey was excellent. A group of friendlies went to Shine Nail Salon within 30 minutes of opening and we swarmed them for…read morebirthday nails/pedicures. Since this was decided overnight we didn't give them any warning. But they took it in stride. There were three customers there when 5 of us arrived between 9-9:30. There were four girlies getting pedicures, one set of acrylic nails and one gel manicure. We all walked out the door around 11:30am. I think this is spectacular timing which included a few other customers entering for services who weren't turned away and thrown right into the rotation. Personally I got my gel off and regular nail polish on my nails. A week later and they are still looking good. No chips! Everything I encountered was clean and sanitary. They also lent us a cart so we could set out some breakfast treats for our little party. I recommend this gem of a business and maybe we will give them a heads up next time!

Called ahead to make sure I could get a pedicure since most salons are busy just before the holiday! Got there at the appointed time and was taken immediately- basic pedicure is all I had time for got in and out in 40 min. Great job on cutting my nails - cleaning and file down the nails. A quick and efficient job. Will be back to try their other services
