I am so happy I found this place! I took my daughter in to get her ears pierced at 9 months old. It…read morewas very important to me to have her ears pierced with a needle and not a piercing gun as it heals much better and there is a lower risk for infection I believe. Cleo was very nice and informative. She really took her time and was very precise. I did not feel like the service was rushed at all and everything seemed super sanitary. Cleo went over everything with my husband and me, we selected the earrings we wanted (14k gold with Swarovski crystal), and signed forms. She numbed my daughter's ear with topical numbing. Once numbing was done, she measured both ears and marked the spot she was going to pierce. My baby cried when she got the piercing (expected), but settled pretty quickly after. We gave her a bottle of milk immediately after and she was okay. She did end up waking up a bit more that night, I'm sure because her ears felt warm or were sore, but by morning she was back to normal! We clean her ears twice a day and so far her ears are healing well! *knock on wood* Overall, I was happy with the experience and feel it was the best that it could be.

As someone who used to work at Claire's, I was not willing to pay for someone to pierce my daughter's ears with a gun. We did pay a lot more to have our daughter's ears pierced, however it was done properly, quick and very accurate.

Beauty Brows OC - Brows shaping + Brows lamination

My mom has had permanent brows as long as I can remember. She said it helped with her morning…read moreroutine but as she aged, those brows kind of became bluish grey blocks and I swore to myself that I did not want to do that to my face. Well, with the trend of thin brows of the 90s and early aughts, which clearly did a number on my own brows. Apparently, hair does not always grow back the way you want it to. Take that as a lesson and try to shape not overpluck. I had been letting my brows grow in and just drawing them in all this time. I had looked into permanent brows and microblading for a long time but never did it due to cost and upkeep. Anyway, with hormonal shifts and passing time, my brows have been looking sparse these last few years. Drawing in and powdering my brows in the morning takes longer than I would prefer. I did a deep dive into microblading and nano-blading, weighing the pros and cons. I settled upon a few permanent make-up artists in the area and reached out to them. It was time for me to take charge of my morning routine. Saena Kim has a robust repertoire on Yelp and Instagram so I reached out to her. Making an appointment was easy as she utilizes an online booking system. The consultation is $50 and goes towards your procedure if you choose to continue with her. With my oily skin, I knew that most PMA would suggest combination powder brows, but she suggested nano brows that are machine assisted. I trusted her with literally tattooing my face, so I went with her suggestion after voicing my concerns. I asked about the inks, she used (which are inorganic). I asked about her experience with nano brows (4+ years). I asked about the numbing prior to the procedure (topically applied). My appointment from start to finish was about an hour and a half. She took the time to shape my brows, get feedback from me, and went to work with her machine. My pain was minimal; I might have fallen asleep. She has offered microblading services for years. She also offers lash extensions, brow lamination, brow correction, and lip blush too. She rents a space inside Sola Salons in the Woodbury Town Center. It's a small, cute space with feminine details and bright lighting. There are other beauty services offered inside the salon as well, just know where you need to go. There is plenty of parking in the lot. I will be back in a few weeks for a touch-up session but so far my brows have been looking more shapely than ever before. The brows are healing nicely and I will post an update with side-by-side images, when all is said and done. Thanks Saena for giving my brows new life!

I went to Sumi Lashes and chose the wispy volume style because I wanted soft, fluttery, "I woke up…read morelike this" vibes... and now I accidentally look like I have my life together. The technician was so gentle I almost fell asleep, which is saying a lot because I don't even trust people near my eyeballs like that. The salon was clean, quiet, and relaxing--basically the opposite of my daily chaos. My lashes came out super lightweight but still full, like natural... if my natural self were just better. They've been holding up really well too, surviving naps, showers, and me aggressively rubbing my eyes at 2am (don't recommend, but still). Only downside? Now I have to book ahead because apparently everyone else also wants to look effortlessly put together.

I've been coming here for over two years now, and honestly, the only reason I haven't left is…read morebecause the work is consistently good and the pricing is fair. It's hard to find that balance, but lately, the experience as a customer has been really disappointing. Pros: Technically speaking, the lashes are great. I'm a loyal client because I trust the quality of the work and the price point is exactly where it should be. The studio is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Everything is branded and color coordinated. They have a great board with styles and lengths displayed to make consultations easier. Cons: While the work is high-quality, the service feels incredibly one-sided. They are extremely strict about appointment confirmations, which I'd understand for a brand-new client, but I've been coming here for years and have a near-perfect track record outside of being a few minutes late a handful of times (always within their 15 minute grace period). I recently had an appointment canceled because I didn't confirm via text--meanwhile, I just brought a newborn home and my phone is the last thing on my mind. When I explained the situation, there was zero flexibility or effort to help me out, which was a huge letdown since I needed that touchup for our birth announcement video. A while back a tech got lash glue on my brand-new clothes (including a pair of expensive jeans and freshly altered white top) which completely ruined them. I have no idea how this happened but when I pointed it out at my next visit, there wasn't even an offer for a small credit or any gesture to make it right. Clients are expected to be on time, yet I have had to wait on multiple occasions because they weren't ready for me. Plus, one of the techs frequently stops mid-application to check out other customers or help other techs, which just drags out the appointment. Usually I go every four weeks but recently I've had some big events and trying to get a touch-up has been difficult. I replied to confirm an available slot immediately only to be told it was actually already booked. It actually caused me to miss getting a touch-up before my son was born. I really want to keep supporting this business because the results are consistent, but I hope they start showing a bit more consideration for their loyal, long-term clients. Skills are important, but so is how you treat people.
