    Lashes

Brooklyn is the sweetest! Very patient and kind, excellent instructor. I came to class a bit nervous not knowing much about lashing and by the end of the training I felt confident. I would highly recommend this training if you want to enter a new venture and be taught by a patient professional.

This review would have been 5 stars if not for my initial experience…read more for the school for Andrew I drove from Los Angeles for a 4:30 PM appointment and arrived early. Unfortunately, my original barber did not show up until around 4:50 PM. When I politely asked what happened, his response came across as dismissive and unprofessional rather than acknowledging the delay. After driving all the way from LA and waiting well past my appointment time, that was disappointing. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Uriyah (I may be misspelling his name). When I explained the situation and requested a different barber, he handled everything professionally, respectfully, and without hesitation. The school was extremely busy, but he listened and found a solution. I was reassigned to Andrew, and Andrew was absolutely 5 stars. He was friendly, professional, attentive, and gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. We had great conversations throughout the appointment, he made me feel comfortable, and he was incredibly kind to my dog as well. His attention to detail, positive attitude, and genuine care for his craft completely turned the experience around. So while I'm giving the school 4 stars because of the initial appointment experience, Andrew personally earned 5 stars from me. He completely salvaged the visit, and I'd happily book with him again. Thank you to Andrew and Uriyah for turning a frustrating start into a great experience.

I went to Paul Mitchell Beauty School in Temecula yesterday for what I thought would be a very…read morebasic service, a trim with long layers. Before my appointment, I understood I would be working with students, not licensed professionals, so I was patient and had realistic expectations. What I did not expect was to spend 4.5 hours in the chair for such a simple service. I made it very clear from the beginning that I am pregnant, did not want to be sitting for hours, and most importantly, wanted to keep my length. My hair was extremely long, it reached my thighs, and I specifically asked for it to stay around my lower back with just a trim and layers. Instead, my hair was cut to below my shoulders. That is not a trim. Going from thigh-length hair to below my shoulders is a drastic change, and once that hair is gone, there's no fixing it. What made the situation even more concerning was that after already cutting off so much of my hair, the student who was originally assigned to me admitted that she was scared to continue. She repeatedly said she needed to find the instructor, Mel, for help because she wasn't confident in what she was doing. Hearing that after so much of my hair had already been cut was incredibly alarming. If she wasn't confident, I wish someone had stepped in much sooner before so much irreversible damage had been done. To make matters worse, it took four additional instructors trying to "fix" my hair, and after all that time, I still left incredibly unhappy. During the process, one stylist even told me I was "extra emotional because I'm pregnant." That comment was completely dismissive and unprofessional. I wasn't upset because I'm pregnant, I was upset because my hair was cut far shorter than what I explicitly requested. What disappointed me the most was the lack of guidance from the instructors. I understand this is a learning environment, but instructors are there to supervise and step in when things are going wrong. Instead of being honest and correcting the mistakes, they continued encouraging the student by saying the haircut looked "fantastic," even though it clearly wasn't what I had asked for. To make this experience even more upsetting, I had my maternity photoshoot scheduled for the very next day. I had been growing my hair for years, and now I have to look back on those once-in-a-lifetime photos feeling self-conscious about a haircut I never wanted. I understand students need real clients to learn, and I truly wanted to support them. However, clients also deserve to have their requests respected and to receive proper supervision when a student is struggling. Unfortunately, this experience left me very aggravated, and I cannot recommend this location based on how my situation was handled. I don't even want to post the before and after picture because I hate it so much!

So I went to Aubrey at s c c b b and it was the best experience I've had in a long time. I have very long curly hair that I like straight. So she had to blow dry my hair, flat iron it, and shampoo it! Everyone there was so nice, smiling, and so accommodating! I'm probably going to have my cast on for 6 to 8 weeks. So I will be coming here weekly to get my hair washed, blow dried, and straightened. The price was amazing as well! So if you are ever in a pinch like me with a broken arm, go to SCCBB! WORST SCHOOL EXPERIENCE EVER…read more This school was an absolute nightmare. They clearly only care about taking your money and give NOTHING in return. In a 6-month program, we went through four teachers, and then had an entire month with NO teacher at all. We were literally left to figure things out ourselves. There was ZERO real hands-on training, and I graduated with no basic skills in brows, lashes, or facials. How is that even acceptable? The place was filthy. There was mold, the sink water came out WHITE, and we were still expected to use it on clients' faces. Laundry from barbers and estheticians was mixed together, and I saw towels with hair being reused. It was disgusting, unprofessional, and dangerous. We complained, and they did NOTHING. This school is a complete failure in every way -- education, hygiene, professionalism, and safety. If you value your time, money, and future, DO NOT enroll here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Devyn was very enthusiastic and excited to get right into it. It's been extremely challenging to find a reliable stylist in the North County area, so Devyn's willingness to really take her time, ask questions and be patient with my textured natural hair was so very appreciate. I felt like she really has a high regard and respect for her craft and it really shows in the work that she out puts. I feel so blessed to model her beautiful work and for her first silk press I think she did absolutely amazing. She's a natural with all hair textures and I look forward to working with her again soon! The student salon space overall feels very upscale and luxurious. This school from day one has been amazing, so supportive, enthusiastic, and I had the greatest experience from the teachers including Ms lynda - Every girl that I've ever come across in this class has been impeccable, amazing, outstanding words cannot say enough of how deserving the school is each and every girl from day one!!! The school from day one prepares you gives you all the knowledge and teachings you will ever need for an aesthetician they give you bookwork, they give you test, hands on training can you even get to work on clients and they can book appointments with you Tuesday through Friday at 5:30 and 730 appointment times they teach you everything from waxing to using high frequency microdermabrasion, and chemical peel with enzyme peel's you name it they will teach you everything. Miss Felicia was 100% correct when she said the esthe girls have a bond like not other. I've walked out with friend for a life time, and a school experience I'll never forget. Not to mention when we all graduate individually we get a potluck and the tunnel!! With all the barbers and esthe girls in support of our success. Thank you thank you for giving me a career I absolutely love.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!…read more Wish I could give it 0 stars! Can't believe this POS is still even open! I attended the Esthetics course for this school from 2003-2004. I (like so many other students, more then half!) found it almost impossible to finish on time because the school was so boring. It took me a year but I managed to finish those boring hours eventually! I wasn't aware that Paul Mitchell existed until after I had signed up here but 16 years later am STILL sorry I didn't transfer there instead despite the fact that it was 3 times more expensive. Well worth it if you ask me! We NEVER had any "clients" to work on so we always had to practice on each other which was terrible because we didn't get enough real experience. My teacher was a very nice woman (the only nice thing I can say about this school! I did like my teacher ok!) and she noticed I was struggling and the school made the offer that I could go to night school if I needed to to get my hours that way. That made it worse! The teacher was only there from 9-5 everyday so I wasn't even being supervised after 5 pm except by the cosmetology teacher who spent her time telling me about her special diet. I pretty much paid them to sit after hours in an empty classroom and they actually let me!! All of this isn't even why I HATE this school though! My real motivation is the fact that right after I graduated I had a baby and became a stay at home mom, so I didn't go for my license but obviously still planned to. About 7 years went by and I couldn't find my proof of hours because they were repossessed in my storage unit so I contacted the school about a new copy of my proof of hours. The snotty woman on the phone informed me that "they are legally required to only hold onto those records for up to five years and it had been seven, but since it had been so long I should probably go back to school anyways since I probably don't remember anything anyways". First of all, this is NOT rocket science and I have a photographic memory so I actually remember 3/4 of what I learned despite the fact that it has been 16 years now! I recently reached out to the state board because I apparently forgot to finish paying the last quarter of my student loan off (darn) and have been denied financial aid to community college today because of it. While I was checking that info on the government website it showed that I attended the school from 2003-2004 and in fact graduated, but naturally that is NOT enough proof for me to take my test! The only proof I can use is from the school, who apparently wiped their asses with it years ago. Thanks guys! Btw, I paid a little over $2000 back in 2003, today they charge $10,000! I would rather stab myself in the eye then pay another school like this that much money to "retake my hours" Hope this helps! Please do check out the reviews that are "not recommended at this time" as well. There are 18 of them and half of them are bad! Sneaky sneaky!!

FAIL: When I got a student, I provided him with a clear description of what I wanted him to do (description below), yet several times he was unsure of what the simple instructions meant, so he had to call over his instructor. The sad thing is that the instructor was also fairly clueless. He keeps insisting on ignoring my instructions and doing only what he knows. My hair is naturally curly when the length is greater than 1.25 inches, yet he treated my hair like it was straight. It's appalling that students aren't properly taught the difference in curly vs. straight hair, so I'll never go back and tell everyone not to go here. FAIL: The student also decided to shorten my beard that naturally blends into my hair without asking me. I asked what he was doing without my consent and he said, "Oh, OK" Analysis: The students ARE CLEARLY NOT taught to keep their workspace clean, the difference between curly and straight hair, or that you should always ask the customer if the directions they're going in are right. My instructions: "Keep the top around ¾ to 1 inch to control the curl. Use scissors only on the sides -- don't shorten them, just remove bulk. Blend the sides into the top softly with scissors, no thinning shears."
