The way product companies work, is that they know all the details of how their product works. They patent them, they engineer them, they build them and they sell them. But when repairs are needed, a product company has incentive to sell a new product and not have it's existing, already sold product repaired. So they have incentive to assure the product can't be repaired. This is exactly what occurred with Epson. They kept suggesting that new parts be purchased without providing any evidence that the new part would resolve the problem. In the end a new product was purchased. An HP Printer, for less than half the cost of the Epson ET-8700 I bought, which is not a cheap machine. So far, the HP has exceeded expectations, not to mention the quality and features of the original Epson, for half the cost. RO had the printer for 5 weeks or so, and the cost for repairs was the diagnostic about 21 dollars. They even absorbed the cost of one part replaced, I wasn't charged for the part since it didn't fix the problem. I would recommend the RO company to anyone who has a problem with a printer and doesn't want to get ripped off in the process. Can't say the same for Epson Printers, though.
