My wife and I came here on Sunday afternoon. The food was good but not long after we left we both was throwing up on side of the road And not feeling well.. Not saying it was that place but just saying eat at a place and start throwing up not long after. Also the service was not the best I ever got at a Mexican restaurant probably one of the worst. Worst Customer Service! We ordered a couple of drinks on their Specials menu. Then we ordered a Large Cheese dip. Waitress said they're making it fresh right now so it would take about 10 minutes. When the cheese dip showed up it was cold, Food was ok. Got our bill, $7 margaritas are not $14. They wanted to charge my wife $7 extra because she asked for Strawberry. I asked to speak to a manager. Some guy named Raul showed up and wouldn't even listen to me. So I just paid the bill. Raul wasn't even the manager. They didn't have one there tonight! This was the first Mexican restaurant my Sister and I tried since we moved here. We were amazed. The space, the color, the friendliness made the whole atmosphere feel grand. Staff kind and attentive. Food good and "Wow" on the Pina Colada. I'm glad I didn't order the large one. To me the ultimate test is the "Flan." You might even say I am "Flan" picky, but they did not disappoint. Their Flan was one of the best I've had in a long time. It really made my night. Told them we would be back when family gets here, because we were impressed and pleased. read more

New location in Florence at the mall. Food was served quickly and fresh. My 8 year old and myself went for lunch after church. I've heard a few reports of bad service and long wait times. I think its pretty common to jump to the negative comments, but I want to challenge you to read this one first. Wow! This place was fantastic! I stopped by while on business in the Florence area today for lunch. The food was outstanding, the restaurant was very nice and well-kept, and the staff were beyond friendly! Working away from home and on the road is always a challenge, but the team here at Las Trojas Cantina were also incredibly accommodating with letting me connect to their WiFi so I could also work while enjoying my lunch! That was also awesome! The chips and salsa were amazing and the lunch chimi was amazing, hot, fresh, and fast! When I reviewed my bill, I was again impressed! It was all under $10.00! Like so many others I have to say that Las Trojas was great as far as the quality of the food, the Fajita's were terrific and the serving size was as good as can be had at a local Mexican restaurant but management really needs to step up and take care of the service issues. There are ample number of servers but it's as if no one here has ever had experience waiting tables or waiting on people. Service is as terrible as any restaurant in the Shoals area. The lunch prices are better than the dinner prices, as with most restaurants, but the overriding issue is the service again. If Las Trojas could greatly improve their servers service then they could achieve a 4 to 5-star​ review. read more

Only reason this is getting more than one star is because the alcohol was good. So here's what Happened. Back in December after I turned 21 my friend and I decided to try this place out and get drinks. Cool. We like Mexican food and we had money to blow so we were excited. We get there and we walk in, we had to find our own table because there was nobody at what we assumed was the hostess table. Not a huge deal, we just sat at a nearby booth. The waitress comes up and asks us what we would like to drink. We start off with a water and a sweet tea. She brings it out In a timely manner. So we ask her if she has a drink menu. She gives us a drink menu and I immediately knew I wanted a small coconut margarita on the rocks. My friend got a medium pomegranate margarita on the rocks. So she takes our drink order. She brought mine back first. She not only brought me a medium coconut margarita on the rocks (even though I only wanted a small). She brought me a medium FROZEN coconut margarita. She said "the bartender messed up so I'm giving you both of these." At the same time. I didn't question her but my friend looked at me and said "I don't think that's legal." I drank them both anyway and that's all I had. Meanwhile, my friends pomegranate margarita was still sitting on the bar. She had to flag down another waiter to go get her drink after 15 minutes of it sitting up there. When she got it it was watered down and gross. So she decided to get something else but drank it anyway. She ended up getting a martini. She is the type to like strong drinks, but this tasted and smelled like straight up 100% acetone nail polish remover. Neither of us could drink it. If I remember correctly I think her last resort drink was an elephant foot beer. And that's all we had alcohol wise. Then comes time to order food. So we order our food and my friend orders a plate with no onions (she's allergic). I order the fajitas. and I'm not even joking when I say this, we timed it. It took TWO AND A HALF HOURS for our food to get to our table. The waitress kept coming back to our table and apologizing saying they were throwing our order away in the kitchen, she had to keep printing new ones, and they can't understand what she's saying. My friend was already mad at the service, and the alcohol made it worse for her. I told her to stay calm be patient and maybe it'll come out. We knew the place was new so we gave it the benefit of the doubt. My plate comes out first. Everything is fine. Hers comes out and it's got onions all in it when she specifically said no onions. So the server took it back. She told the waitress to make sure they weren't just scraping the onions off of the plate. Waitress goes and checks. She comes back and says "yeah that's what he was doing. I told him to remake it completely." So they remake it but they left the same refried beans on the plate. So they were cold, but everything else was hot. My friend asked to speak to the restaurant manager and the waitress tried to go and get him. he would not come to our table. He was sitting at a booth chit-chatting with his employees. So my friend got up and went to him. And I was observing her from our table that he was getting an earful. We got our food for no charge. But we still tipped the waitress. We haven't been back. read more

Another 30 to get our order taken. We were not the only ones experiencing the issues. watched several tables get up and leave. They bussed and cleaned one table while the guy had left for the restroom with his young son. He walked out once he returned to an empty table. Finally getting our food after being there an hour it was cold. Just not worth my time. when there is a multitude of other places to eat at a better price. This restaurant has experienced a rapid decline. Terrible service. The servers mostly ignored my well mannered group. Finally served my margarita. I ordered a tamale and chicken soup on a cold night. The tamale was unrecognizable and inedible. And, oh course, the waitress never asked why it was uneaten. The chicken soup was so-so, but never received the sides which were supposed to accompany it nor any water although I asked for both twice. The main issue we had, as a party of four, was communication with our waiter. My order was completely wrong, as was a friend of mine's. When we tried to explain it to the waiter he could not understand us. I went last night (6April2019) and tried to pay with cash. After having an explanation of why wrong charges may appear on my ticket, I put the cash in for the waiter. He came back to tell me that the only person with the cash register key had left and I needed to pay with a credit card. All of it seemed so sketchy. Service to the table, initially was quick with drink orders and chips/salsa also quick to table. I simply stated it's been over an hour and no food and i know mistakes happen but perhaps our order didn't get turned in. She assured it was the kitchen but would check. She did not return. Finally we waived a manager down around the hour 15 min time frame m. At the ONE HOUR 50 min mark FOOD ARRIVES. My order was wrong but only bc of no sauce but my friends order which was a chimichanga w a side of refried beans only arrived w a PLATE of refried beans. My plate and food was cold to the touch. Still no waitress so flagged manager down again. It was 2 hours+ at this point. My food was stuck in a microwave and returned; i tried to eat it but couldn't. Now for time for checks. All kind of mixed up and the waitress finally cane over rolling her eyes and attitude apparently because we asked for the correct checks. While she was working on the checks the manager came over(we did not summon him) and asked what happened so as we were explaining the waitress sees him and comes over saying to us there was no reason for us to get a manager involved as she was fixing the checks. I will never dine here nor will my friend because of this horrific experience all of which could have been avoided w good customer service. Visited for the first time yesterday. Wife ordered chicken taco salad, daughter ordered beef nachos and I ordered chicken fajitas. Chicken fajitas might as well been called bell pepper fajitas. I've never seen such a plate full of bell peppers. So many it was disgusting. Picked through it to find maybe one slice of onion and tough chicken. Beef nachos were tasteless. My wife swapped her taco salad so my daughter would eat. This place should be called Las Blandos because the food is flavorless and has no redeeming quality whatsoever. I've eaten at the Huntsville location and its great but this place is on a fast track to failure if they don't fix their food or service. And, their tea? Over $3.00! This is my family and I second trip in. We were so excited that the Florence Mall had gotten a sit down Mexican restaurant. The first time we visited was right after they opened and figured they were just slow, however our visit today (2nd visit) was awful!!! We were sat with no problems delivered chips promptly along with our drink order and our app order of a small cheese dip ( which we never received). We then ordered my husband got an app quesadilla however it was small, our son got the chimichanga plate and it came out correctly. I had ordered a fajita salad minus Guacamole, beans, sour cream and cheese and asked for the queso to be put on the side and it was on their over half of my salad was covered in cheese sauce when I asked them not to add it, also very little lettuce. I had added shrimp to my salad along with the grilled chicken it came with. Upon getting our check they charged us for the queso we never received and tried telling us they put the whole thing in my salad when it came with it and let me mind you I requested not to have it on it. The waitress never refilled drinks or asked if they could fix my order. They did fix the mix up on the Queso and we didn't pay for it. We will never be going back. I didn't want to go back this time, but my husband always gives places a second chance. Go to Rosie's down by UNA they're AMAZING!!! read more

Well. Let me tell you what. This was seriously some of the best Mexican I have ever ate. When I walked in I seen a guy eating a huge item. It was called the angel. Fired shell with chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp and onions covered in cheese sauce. It was amazing! 5/5!!! Our waiter Drew was the bomb. My drink never got below half full. He was always there to fill me back up. Food only took maybe 7 minutes to get out to us. So I'd definitely recommend this place. read more
