We gave it a rest and began visiting again about 2 years ago. It was a great run but here we go again. We were served some days old guacamole on our meal. There is nothing nastier than guac that isn't fresh. We were visiting on average once or twice a month. Off the list they go again. Inexpensive Mexican food. I eat here regularly, and it is always consistent. Probably not the best Mexican food I've ever ate, but for the price, you can't really complain. The staff is always friendly and usually prompt about everything. I typically get the Arroz con Camaron, Enchiladas, or Fajitas. All are pretty good and can cure a Mexican craving. We actually really liked the food at the Casa Mexicana, Florence, AL. Last week we had a friend from the North come down. We went to Casa Mexicana and my husband asked if they gave a military discount. They did. If a restaurant says, "yes", then we are happy. If the management says, "No", we just thank them and enjoy our meal. Today my husband (39 yrs, 4 months, 17 days in the USAF) asked the same question. Our children missed having him home for 15 of those years so he could be at various bases. We are very proud of his service that keeps America free and allows businesses like this to operate. However, when he asked about a military discount, the gal at the front looked at him and said very rudely, "We do NOT support your military". If you cannot appreciate living in a free country, which our military has kept us free) then please understand why we cannot support your restaurant. We are passing around the word! read more

They offer a wide variety of combination plates, which at $7 are a decent deal for dinner. Also their food service might have been the fastest I've ever experienced. Other than that, the food itself was just ok. My wife and I got various pairings of chicken tacos, enchiladas and chili con queso. The beans were especially runny and the enchilada sauce was pretty bland. But for Mexican food in a small southern town, I'd say it's a probably a good option. read more

Omg this restaurant is horrible!!! I ate there today as I was here visiting family . I had the steak fajitas. The steak was tough. The guac tasted like they use old avacados. So far I'll say since moving to Florence, AL, and not being able to find good authentic Mexican food here, this place by far is pretty good. Salsa was OK. Could be more spicy, could add some cilantro and onions, but it was decent. So far better than what I have had since moving here from Texas. Ordered the chicken fajita meal and it was pretty good. Casa used to be one of my favorite places to eat when I lived here. Now when I visit Florence Casa is on my list of places to go. Tonight, me and my family went to eat and the food was decent, but the service was insulting. Our waiter was Augustine and he was very rude and even laughed and smarted off when we asked for anything. I'm not one to complain about much, but I feel that he may need to be told it's not kind to laugh and smart off to customers. The food on the other hand was good. I used to eat at Casa fairly often. It seems like they have reduced the quality of the ingredients consistently over the years and I have been unable to continue to eat there. Amazing little place. There is always a big crowd there for lunch, but service is amazingly fast. The luncheon fajitas are generous enough that you better doggy bag some of them or you will be sleepy all afternoon. This place has been in business at he same location for about 10 years and always has lots of customers--a pretty good sign of a good place to eat. read more
