We stayed in the grande building. It has a nice view that overlooks the resort. The room was a little outdated-appliances and decor, but nonetheless we made do. Just spent the weekend here. The view from our room was gorgeous. We had a great day in the pool at the swim up bar overlooking the ocean. The condo was super cute and the ac was wonderful. Full kitchen and washer and dryer for convenience. Was super grateful there were two bathrooms for 4 women. We were able to rent jet skis right in the beach in front of the resort. Unfortunately I have to give this a star, I was vibing with my 7 inch speaker by the pool, listening to the queen Beyoncé and everyone was vibing and having a good time. Great stay rooms are nice very clean and full equipped kitchen. Grounds are awesome with a lot of fun for the kiddos also there's a small restaurant for breakfast. The only star I take off is the staff and check in. Literally 1 1/2 for check in it was a headache. The lady's at the front are very slow. I mean there was people out the door and waiting for the bands and bracelets was a headache even after waiting all that time for us to get our keys. Waited on the side for another 30 minutes for the bands. Other than that I recommend with a small walk from your room to the beach. Very nice read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!' I give this place a one star for three main reasons: 1 Too expensive for what you get. The beach and food are great in Puerto Penasco, but their prices are insanely expensive. A descent place like this one cost you double than Cabo, Cancun or any well respected beach destination in Mexico. 2 unprofessional service and lack of attention to the customer, The Check In staff are not helpful and they are even boarder line rude. 3 management is TERRIBLE. A day and a half after I left I received a charge on my credit card for $250. After 5 attempts to call and three transfers I still was not give a reason for the charge. I'm still fighting it almost a week later. Worth noting that we left the place clean and on time. I would not recommend to stay at this place. This is not a hotel. This complex is privately owned individuals units that do not provide toiletries, not even soap and sponge for the dishes. In addition, you do not receive copies of what you sign. read more

My family and I stayed in Las Palmas unit 705D for one week July 2021. The unit was clean however it is very outdated. The essentials in the kitchen were provided, however there could have been minor additions to make it more effective. The pots and pans were half broken. There was nothing to clean off the counters with and we were only provided two kitchen hand towels. The refrigerator did not have an ice machine, therefor adding a few ice trays would have been a nice addition. The televisions in each room worked, but only for local television which is in all Spanish. Frustrating restrictions in the unit in regards to the lowest possible temperature of AC. The overall grounds of Las Palmas were clean but very minimal. Almost all of the pool umbrellas were broken. Minimal lounge chairs at the pool. The swim up bar constantly had meat (for tacos etc) just laying out on counter. Most of the bartenders were friendly, but always on phone and therefor we had to wave/signal to get attention to place drink order. While I would rate this stay average as a whole my family and I will not stay here again. Many of the other resorts on Sandy Beach have much higher standards and facilities for the same price. read more

Horrible experience staying here. Aside from minor gripes about the toilet paper, towels, and other basic essentials not being replenished, the over priced food and drink, the owners and staff mainly made our stay extremely unpleasant. Discrimination of any sort should never be allowed, especially on a work related vacation. We essentially got harassed by the staff because two women in our group are lesbians. They showed some light affection in the "Adults Only" pool and got crucified - flagged as inappropriate and absolutely embarrassed. As soon as security told them to separate they did, they complied and respected their wishes. Meanwhile, other "straight" couples were allowed to show affection freely, without any shame or conviction. As the days went on, the staff continued to be rude, un-attentive, and harsh to our party. The security guards would continually approach us after this incident saying things like "you're already on thin ice" or "be careful what you do" all because two women shared a kiss in the pool. There was nothing we did as a group to deserve that kind of threatening treatment. After previous business with this resort and seeing some true colors, we will not be returning. The bartenders can be rude and unenthusiastic, the amenities close way too early, and the overall energy and ambiance the staff creates is negative. Honestly, If I can't hot-tub past 6pm I'm not interested. Absolutely lame. Please spare yourself and give your time and money to a resort/staff that knows how to respect human beings... read more

STAY AWAY FROM VILLA-05 LAS PALMAS!!!! For our 2024 family vacation we decided to try Las Palmas Resort and spent very good money to stay at Villa-05 which we thought we will have all the commodities needed, but not the case. 1st day during our arrival the garage didn't work so we had to wait for maintenance to fix it since we had all our stuff and needed to park the truck close by to unload. 1st day same night the water heater wasn't working, waited for maintenance again which took different people to get it working, close to 10 pm. 2nd night my son found a cockroach on top of his bed, that same day at night we found cockroaches in the master bathroom and kitchen. 3rd day water heater not working again and had to get maintenance back on it. 4th day the owner and his maintenance people decided to show up unnoticed to replace washer and dryer that were not working, he just showed up and opened the villa without letting us know at all!! This Villa was the worst experience! Do not recommence it at all! read more

The room we rented via Airbnb and the renter were fantastic. Very clean and colorful pad with everything we needed (king bed, stove, fridge, blender...NETFLIX!) The pool was amazing and perfect for the kids. They loved the waterslides and mini slides. The beach was beautiful, the water warm, and the tide made for a good time collecting seashells with the kids. My only complaint was their restaurant, located next to the pool. About as bad as bad gets. We ordered their overpriced wings that took waaay too long to come out, and when they did, they were char-black burned. We sent them back and waited another half hour for six wings. Steer clear of the restaurant and this resort is an absolutely wonderful experience. read more

This resort gets 4 stars for the kind, personable staff and remodeled accommodations. We stayed in a very nice condo on the seventh floor #701. The beds are very comfortable and we love spending time on the extended Terrace. The condo had everything we needed for a great stay including beach chairs and boogie boards. The room has a purified soft water system clean enough to drink which is a big plus in México . The staff made our stay a lot better by being so welcoming and accommodating. My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years. We enjoy the small size of the resort and options for food and drinks. The new pool is a nice addition but the main resort buildings/houses will need to be remodeled soon imo. I am compelled to write this review bc the quality of my unit (Bonita 701) is not acceptable. No pot to boil water. No extras like a pepper shaker. The patio furniture is a mess. Broken seats. Bird droppings on them. Mind you this is supposed to be the pent house ! Cmon owners. Time to spend some $ imo. The beds are comfortable. The unit is very nice but needs some love. Another thing that I noticed on this trip is the furniture down by the pool with the slides. I sat on one and the wheels flew off. No joke. Bird dropping on almost every chair. Cushions are in need of freshening up. They are all saggy. Lastly, the new pool bar. To be fair, I have only been there once and will update if things improve. We waited for 10m while they made chicken fingers and joked around. When I did get my drink, he actually grunted. The bar setup looks sloppy. I haven't tried the food but will report if I do. Sandy beach is so beautiful these things won't wreck our trip but I did take notice this trip about the quality and upkeep at las Palmas. read more

I stayed at a 12 person villa. I loved the space. Very close to the beach. They have wristbands and beach towels cards. Our villa had a two car garage. The only thing I would say is there only one key so it was hard to leave the house locked up with our group. The front desk gave us laundry detergent and trash bags when we needed more for the villa. do not go to this resort if you are in a same sex relationship. they are flagrantly discriminatory against gay people and will make your life miserable you if you show any type of affection toward each other on the premises. every year my work group comes down for an extended weekend to relax and enjoy some time together. Two women in our group who happen to be in a same sex relationship were attacked for sharing a kiss in the Adults Only pool when other straight couples were allowed to love on each other without anyone batting an eye. These women were asked to stop, which they immediately agreed to and left the pool in confusion and embarrassment. Even though it was an adults only pool full of other adults who were allowed to show affection to each other, they felt unwelcome and were made to feel like they were doing something wrong. But even respectful compliance was not enough because the next day security guards followed our group onto the beach (separate from the villas), ordered us to tell the women (which by that point they had somehow embellished the story to be FOUR women lol) to leave the premises and return their wristbands all because someone in the pool who owned a condo at this place made a complaint that they were uncomfortable with the kiss. They came by later, knocking on doors and checking IDs like we were some sort of criminals. This establishment makes up unreasonable rules as they go along, fabricates pieces of the story to pull the strings they need to pull to keep only a certain type of person happy (even if they're homophobes), and makes what is supposed to be a relaxing getaway, a living hell. in addition, one of the bedrooms absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke to a nauseating degree (to which their only solution was spraying more and more febreze), and every single bathroom was lacking towels and toilet paper. All the waitstaff were rude and extremely slow to make drinks even when the bar was slow during the midday. Couldn't even get a smile out of them. Reading these other reviews about the crappy service only further validates the experience we had. this was anything but a relaxing vacation for all of us involved and our group will be finding another place to go for our annual trips. read more

One of my favorite trips down to Mexico. We stayed in the villas a few steps away from the beach. A little more crowded than I wanted, but can't really complain. If you don't care for vendors constantly approaching you, then stay somewhere else for sure. Villa was very clean and lost everything was in working order. Worst place I've ever stayed. The owners are horrible people. The condo was dirty. We slept in someone else's filth. The sink flooded the kitchen. Then the dish washer was also broken. I opened the dishwasher and the front the the counter top came crashing down and almost took my toes off. The elevator was broken so we had to walk up 7 flights of stairs. Multiple times a day. I spent two days trying to clean from the house keeping not coming and the flooding in the bathroom and kitchen. Oh yeah, the bathroom also flooded cause they shower curtain isn't really a rod and kept falling. It fell and hit my son in the head. House keeping came and they decided to take all my cleaning stuff that I brought from home. So the front desk ask the owners of las palmas to stay another night for free considering my entire time was spent moping and doing dishes. (Also, the dishes weren't washed and were put away dirty. ) They said they'd give us a who 15% discount. We would only have to pay $197!!!! Are you kidding me??? This place sucks. Was there on 6-26-18 thru 7-2-18 for 50 guest wedding, The wedding was Beautiful!! Cons All the guest had complaint's about each of their condo units from missing pots and pans to broken elevators. We stayed at V-5 on the last nite all the sewer lines backed up dirty water coming from Shower drains, Toilet's " the smell" and sinks. When I approached the front desk with complaints all they could say is sorry its broken!! Elevator "Sorry its the wind" my mom was on the 7th floor. No pots and pans, "Sorry we don't know what happened" No partial reimbursement, no sincere we are working on it!! Nothing, Nada, Zip, You paid Thank You Señor, Sorry..... All of our guest 100% have come down with a stomach bug that leads to Diarrhea, Vomiting, And fever!! Even out baby witch only drinks from bottle. So I am assuming its a pool water thing or general water supply contaminated. "" YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! I get home and i find a charge $52 dollars for dirty towels.. What!!! I just brought you over 15k in revenue from reservations and wedding.. Now you're gonna nickel and dime me over towels!!! Sorry Señor again!! The location is superb. The staff is very accommodating. The condo could use some attention. The beds are quite uncomfortable. This is a very awful place to stay. My family and I stayed from Aug 15, 2021 thru Aug 18,2021. When we got home (9 hours later) we realized we had forgotten our IPAD at the complex. Called them immediately and was informed that no one had turned it in and suggested I call the following day to speak to manager. So, we called several times the next day, finally spoke to her. She also informed me that no one turned it in. All the times we called we would get the run around. I informed her that we pin pointed it via Apple location search and it clearly shows it is in that area. She was adamant that nothing was missing! BS!!!! So unprofessional and rude. What really ticks me off is how they lie out of there a-holes like no tomorrow. No moral compass, no honesty, just plain conniving crooks!!!! And thats not all. During check in they gave us an earful of "do not "things or you will have to pay for it (i.e. loose a towel and we will charge $25 among other weird things)!!! It was really distasteful!!! I can go on about this God awful place. PLEASE people save your money and go find another complex/condo!! I don't expect top notch service but some decent service would have been nice. I have been going to Rocky Point all my life, I even got married at Playa Bointa. My family and I go about 2-4 times a year and I love to try new resorts. So for my first experience with Las Palmas I was very disappointed!! A friend of mine had told me he had a bad experience when he stayed there so I was hesitant but I really wanted to try one of their Villas. I book Villa #8 in June for October. Three months in advance. I was concerned when I notice I could no longer see the villa online. I spoke to the manager and she assured me that the owner took it out of the rental pool but would respect my reservation. And if there were any problems she would contact me and put me in another villa equal to #8. When we arrived to check in she told me I could not stay in villa #8 but she could give me 2 two bedroom condos!! I thought that was bs! After going back and forth with her for 2 hours and her going back and forth with the owner on the phone, who I assumed lives in AZ she said we could have the villa. I believe the problem was between the owner and managing company and I should have never been involved in the first place!! Needless to say their managing sucks. They are very unprofessional!!
