I fully expected to be turned away, but instead the staff welcomed me in with nothing but kindness. They still sat me down, took my order, and made sure I was taken care of without making me feel rushed or uncomfortable in the slightest. That level of hospitality really surprised me and speaks volumes about their customer service. Food was great, but the people are what stood out the most. Love when they do Fiesta food! Chicken on a stick was perfect and no standing in long lines of people. Sausage on a stick was super tasty and also less expensive than at Fiesta events. I'm a fan of Las Palapas. I got the Breakfast bowl and it was delicious. It was just the right amount of food and it had avocados in it. Avocados are a gift from whatever diety you believe in. Add a few tortillas and magic happens. I have always received excellent customer service when I've eaten there. Iris was the best server I have had at Las Palapas. Never had horrible complaints about this location. This morning ordered 14 tacos was told I had to go inside to pick up. My son was asleep in car seat so calling ahead to place order and pick up through drive was a great option. When I pulled up to the window they said I can only pick up inside and there was nothing they could do about it. Meh. Definitely had better in San Antonio. Really unsure why the drive thru lines here are so long. The food is just okay and the service is not that great. The girl who took our order over the speaker was nice but the guy who took our card and gave us our order wasn't very nice at all. Barely acknowledged our presence as he was chit chatting and laughing with his coworkers. There were times where we didn't even know if he was talking to us or his coworkers. Wasn't fun. As for the food, nothing to write home about. The enchiladas were a soggy mess, the carne guisada was bland and the meat was dry and chewy. I love that they still continue to offer the rollback specials on Monday's and Wednesday's some of my favorite plates are the chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas, the burrito with chicken fajita, the chicken soup is to doe for, great flavor and filling which is surprising because soup rarely fills me up. Ordered tortilla soup as part of my meal, Appeared to be the chicken soup instead- waiter argued that it was the tortilla because he gave me a saucer of tortilla strips to add. Even as chicken it was not anything I was going to eat and told him so. Large hunks of chicken skin and gristle attached. Broth was so salty it would have been unhealthy to eat. Last time eating from here. I can't really speak about the dine in portion but the drive thru is shady. Constantly leaving out parts of my orders, possibly intentional (left out queso, guacamole, salsa when they charge a lot for it) then they tie the bag tight so you can't really check it in the drive thru line without holding up the line. Food is cold, not sure how this happens but if you order tacos and get anything else the tacos will be cold and mushy while the other item may be warm. Taste wise is actually good when they get it right! Service is spotty sometimes they have some friendly staff, just be ready to catch your food in case they drop it out of the window (legit happened fortunately caught it) Proof is in the pic, ordered the super nachos 5 min after pick up (supposed to come with guacamole and sour cream note how the cheese is already hardened). I received outstanding service at Las Palapas at Babcock Rd, and Eckhert Rd. this evening (Monday), at about 6:00p. from Manager Abby Rodriguez. My wife and I placed a telephone order on the drive to this Las Palapas, after leaving my wife's work. The young man who answered and took our order said the Total came out to about $34.00. We frequent this location, and based on our order we were very surprised the total was so high. I told the young man on the phone that I would take care of the order when we arrived to pick up the order at the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, I spoke with Ms. Rodriguez about our telephone order. After a few minutes, she determined the total was actually $15.66. We had been charged for two Rollback Specials, instead of one. She was very professional, friendly and courteous. She apologized for the error and confusion on the phone order. She confirmed our order. and ensured everything was resolved perfectly. Ms. Abby Rodriguez is an asset to Las Palapas, and we appreciated the very efficient and calm manner in which she made a poor situation turn out to be a positive one for us! read more

The cheese and chips was more like the weird yellow stuff you get at the stadium for nachos than any queso you get anywhere else. While waiting for a Togo order I witnessed a food service employee go into the bathroom, stay for a couple of minutes, and leave without ever removing/changing gloves. The employee went straight back to bussing tables. The manager argued with me when I asked that they refund my meal as I'd lost my appetite and didn't want to eat tacos prepared on their likely poop-smeared surfaces. The manager was extremely rude and told me he didn't want to hear it when I tried to explain that even a busser needs to practice safe hand- washing. He suggested that since the unsanitary employee was a busser, my food should be just fine and I don't need to worry about it. This manager needs to take a sanitation course.
