She took care of the entire store and restaurant all by herself. The restaurant is very tiny, but the food is delish. The restaurant was empty when I arrived at 1pm. She put on the Mexican music when I arrive. Service is fast. The owner explained the menu and provided good recommendations. I tried 4 tacos of different meat: birria, lengua, steak and carnitas. All are served with onions and lime. I love birria and lengua the most, followed by carnitas. I picked an authentic Mexican soda from their fridge. I love all the drink options available.

However in the back there's a dining area. They make tacos and tortas. After looking around a bit we found where to order at. It's got a window in the back. There's a small menu of a few authentic Mexican items and the choices of protein. Mostly it's tacos of course. These are pretty easy to make. It's $4 each. Protein choices include beef, chicken, or get beans and vegetables. Got us a couple of tacos with the beans. These were topped with cilantro and onions. Small but full of flavor. The store has drinks such as Jarritos, and you can get big ass cans of beans so you can make tacos for later. Good place to get authentic Mexican food. It's located on West Jackson Street at Illinois Avenue in a building that looks unassuming from outside. There's taqueria is located in the back, and you order at the window.

It was only about 2 minutes after the scheduled pickup time when a man from the food truck came knocking on our car window. We hadn't even told him we were with DoorDash yet--he simply asked if we were there to pick up an order. And keep noted I've completed hundred of door dash orders before this some being from this exact food truck with 0 hassle. Anyways after we said yes, he immediately told us to get out and come to the window because the food had been ready. His tone was rude and confrontational, as if we had been sitting there for a long time, even though it had only been a couple of minutes. I asked if there was an issue because I was genuinely confused why someone felt the need to come knock on our car window. There was no reason to approach our vehicle, especially while we were taking care of our infant. My fiancé then went to the window, and I followed. At the window, the employee changed the story about how long we'd supposedly been waiting and pointed to the order on the screen as if she already knew exactly which order it was. Then, immediately after showing us the order, she asked what was in it, which didn't make much sense. The entire interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessarily hostile. We understand that restaurants want orders picked up promptly, but being only a couple of minutes past the pickup time does not justify employees knocking on customers' car windows and speaking to them disrespectfully. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way. This place needs to really reconsider how they treat drivers/customers. I would've gave 0 stars if that had been an option.
