After a long day at the lake, we're always starving and looking for somewhere open past 9. In Brenham, unless you want to go to Chili's, you have limited options. Las Fuentes has been our go to place this year since we never make it to Chappell Hill on time anymore. The margaritas are good and I'm a margarita snob. The green sauce is not very good but the red salsa makes up for it. I've finally found a dish I like too, the fajitas with the creamy mushroom sauce. We'll keep coming back. read more

Lousiest Mexican food I've ever eaten. The salsa is warm (gross) and had no flavor. I ordered the stuffed avocados with chicken. They looked pre-made and tasted like they were coated in shake and bake. The chicken tasted like cut up bland chicken thighs. They came on a large plate with 5 shreds of lettuce, a couple pieces of diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of rice and a small cup of tortilla soup which my husband ate. The menu stated it came with the soup, rice and chile con queso. But when I asked for the queso, the manager came over and pointed out that the menu stated the queso only came with the grilled shrimp which was $3 more. So, I pointed out the *comma* after "tortilla soup" and if that was the case, the rice shouldn't have been on my plate either. He oh so generously gave it to me anyways but it was melted velveeta cheese! Really? C'mon now! Next time, we will stick with Los Cabos where we usually go. MUCH better food and service! read more

Saw some reviews way different than my experience so feel the need to chime in. Awesome service - fast always checking if I'm good - fast - all food out in under 10. Nice look - some character to the place. Finally I saw Pollo Diablo and said THAT's for me. well. it was mighty tasty but 0% hot. DONT CALL NON HOT FOOD 'Diablo' bro, please! Met a friend at the place over the weekend. I have to say neither of us were very impressed. You get complimentary queso and red salsa, both of which have no taste what so ever. The chips we were given were borderline stale as well. The service was very slow. There was one guy waiting on a whole room full of people while 3 other servers sat and rolled silverware, in plain view of the guests. So when our water was low, or we needed another margarita, or our salads came out to us minus dressings, they could see, and still just continued to roll silverware. Also, there was manager tending the door. He never check on our table and we were seated next to the door! Talk about amazing customer service. Because of all this we didn't enjoy the food. It could have been heaven but we wouldn't have known. Well, you can roll one less Las Fuentas, I will not be back. read more

Very terrible place. Shrimp enchiladas the sauce is as sweet sause. When I told the manager he argued with me like I wasn't a Mexican. He said that's the way Mexican make there enchiladas sauce. Stopped in last night with family, mainly as it was one of the few restaurants open after 8pm. Not our first choice, but how can you go wrong with Tex Mex? So we thought. Salsa was not much more than tomato juice with some onions in it. Completely flavorless. Dinner arrived pretty quickly, probably as we were the only table there. From the get go, very disappointed. We ordered fajitas for 2. The meat was definitely not fresh. As it was so precisely cut, reminded me of the bagged fajita meat you can get from HEB. The onions were there, but not grilled & hard to find. I'm accustomed to getting not only guacamole & pico, but also cheese & sour cream. Got neither. The borracho beans were just as pitiful & flavorless. Overall, I would not go out of my way to ever go back to this place. read more

Typical Tex Mex menu. I had the beef fajitas. Salsa, chips and relish tray were all brought out. Pretty good. The fajitas were definitely above average, but the homemade tortillas were as good as ive had - the service was OK - waited a long time to order and pay, but they were quick to keep my water glass full. The margarita was very good. If you're looking for a casual, relaxing dinner with good Tex Mex, I would recommend this place. read more

I got the nachos..The chicken did not have flavor. I didn't care for them. Nothing special. The service wasn't that great. Only saw the server two or three times. The plates were hot but the food in the middle was cold. You could tell it was pre-prepared. My mother-in-law ordered the three cheese enchiladas and asked for charro beans instead of rice, and got the rice and refried beans but no charro beans...Not the place to go... read more

Good, solid Tex-Mex! Chicken and beef fajitas were good and tender. Fajita enchiladas were excellent. Enjoyed the chalupas with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Guacamole very tasty and salsa and chips were spot on. Attentive wait staff. Easy ingress and egress located on the north side of 290. You won't be disappointed.
