Our wedding was supposed to happen in the midst of Covid-19. But, had to get postponed to the following year 2021. Long story short everything was about money for them. I wanted to change to an outdoor venue since it was more safe for our small 85 guests. But, they made it seem like they couldn't find outdoor winery in Valle de Guadalupe. Here I am contacting places 7 months before my wedding. Everywhere I called they're was availability. At first everything was going great and little things started to fall out of place. Keep in mind that all the planning started in December of 2019. I would say that you need to stay on top of everything! I mean everything! Keep asking questions or state your concerns. If you want a certain vendor at your wedding I would say contact them directly. Going thru Lorena Cardenas will cost you an arm and a leg. I had three different vendors and was less than half the price. Taco stand guy $240 for 100 people, Mariachi $600 for 3 hours and also a music group for $500 for the whole night. My biggest complaint was getting a call literally 4 weeks before my wedding that the church was missing a document. I sent all the documents that was required in July of 2020 and why are they telling me about this 4 weeks before my wedding? I was so stressed out!! Literally, had to call several churches in LA to get this paperwork expedited to Ensenada within a 2 weeks. Also, I had the DJ call me the night before my wedding asking me for the type of music I wanted him to play. Which was so weird because I wasn't even prepare for that phone call. I told him to play newer hip-hop and Spanish music and that didn't happened. When it was time to our bridal party to enter he didn't even announce their names. Other things happened during our wedding planning that aren't worth sharing that bother me. I would say STAY ON TOP OF THEM!! Ask questions and state your concerns. Tons of great history in this hotel as it has hosted water sports in the past, off-road racing, and beauty pageants. Walking distance from the beach-five minutes, driving distance from the historic town shopping center. This hotel is very well kept, and I believe a highlight of it would have to be the pool area. Decorated with palm trees and well kept giant birds of paradise. There are three functional hot tubs in addition to the very large lap pool surrounded by reclining beach chairs. The inside of the facility appears aged, but not in a degrading way, but rather gives off retro vibes. I did not have the opportunity to eat in their facilities. They did provide you with two standard size water bottles in addition to coffee and cream. My room was very well kept, was clean and definitely gave off resort vibes. The staff here was very friendly and very flexible when it came to park in the car in the registration area. They provide self parking or valet parking for a small additional fee. The parking lot is gated and is monitored 24 seven by security personnel. In this hotel, I felt safe and did not get a sense that I was a rough area. Reason why I did not rate this hotel a five-star has to do with the water coming from the shower. It is a known fact that while in Mexico, it's not recommended to consume water coming out of any home faucets or showers. Upon showering, I noticed the water having a mineral/sulfuric scent. It wasn't overpowering nor overbearing, but to those sensitive to smells, this could've resulted in a poor experience. At this time, I am not sure if it has to do with San Nicolas being an older hotel or if this is a common occurrence with hotels throughout Mexico. I would recommend staying here however (TIP) I would also suggest researching the water issue with nearby hotels if you are particular about water smells.

I didn't know what to expect as it was my first time getting married but as calm as she was, SO PROFESSIONAL, she made me calm with her aura. Very soft spoken but yet stern as she reminded us of things we needed the day before the wedding. If we knew she did it all, not just be the officiant, we would've have booked her for it all. She made it as easy as can be. I'm sure she does this a lot and it shows. She got emotional at our wedding but her and her team was amazing to work with. I would say I would hire her again but I don't plan on getting married again because I found my forever. I am sure if you find yourself working with her, she will not let you down.
