Tons of great history in this hotel as it has hosted water sports in the past, off-road racing, and beauty pageants. Walking distance from the beach-five minutes, driving distance from the historic town shopping center. This hotel is very well kept, and I believe a highlight of it would have to be the pool area. Decorated with palm trees and well kept giant birds of paradise. There are three functional hot tubs in addition to the very large lap pool surrounded by reclining beach chairs. The inside of the facility appears aged, but not in a degrading way, but rather gives off retro vibes. I did not have the opportunity to eat in their facilities. They did provide you with two standard size water bottles in addition to coffee and cream. My room was very well kept, was clean and definitely gave off resort vibes. The staff here was very friendly and very flexible when it came to park in the car in the registration area. They provide self parking or valet parking for a small additional fee. The parking lot is gated and is monitored 24 seven by security personnel. In this hotel, I felt safe and did not get a sense that I was a rough area. Reason why I did not rate this hotel a five-star has to do with the water coming from the shower. It is a known fact that while in Mexico, it's not recommended to consume water coming out of any home faucets or showers. Upon showering, I noticed the water having a mineral/sulfuric scent. It wasn't overpowering nor overbearing, but to those sensitive to smells, this could've resulted in a poor experience. At this time, I am not sure if it has to do with San Nicolas being an older hotel or if this is a common occurrence with hotels throughout Mexico. I would recommend staying here however (TIP) I would also suggest researching the water issue with nearby hotels if you are particular about water smells.

She then offered a 20% refund and asked me to change my review, which I again declined. She claimed that despite paying for full event planning services, the event was subpar because I hadn't been involved in planning it. They didn't call. They didn't ask me to go their warehouse. They didn't do anything until the week of the event, when they tried to fit me into their random available times to walk them through my space via FaceTime. To clarify, I paid $2,000 for someone to plan and orchestrate an event. What I received was maybe a $200-$300 setup, and it's apparently my fault for not planning the event I paid someone to plan. She argued that I should have requested changes during the setup. However, I wasn't home at the time. The whole point of hiring this service was to arrive at a fully set-up event with my guests. When I arrived, they were still setting up as my guests were arriving (even though they were supposed to have been gone by then). So, there wasn't time to make changes, and it would have been an awkward conversation anyway. Instead of blaming me, they should have done the job they were paid to do or not sold the package in the first place. To add insult to injury, she compared this situation to eating a pizza and then requesting a refund. This was over $2k. It's not even close to ordering a pizza and asking for a refund. She ripped me off. I stand by my request for a full refund. She should have offered that refund on her own. This event was pitiful. I will never use their services again or recommend them to anyone.

Elena and her team were absolutely phenomenal and made our wedding day so much more enjoyable and stress-free. Day-of Coordination: Elena stood out not only on the wedding day but also in the months leading up to it. She was incredibly helpful during the planning process--offering thoughtful insight into creating a seamless timeline and even helping with ideas for decor and place settings tailored to our outdoor, beachy (and occasionally windy!) wedding. She thought of every detail, from preparing us in advance to get those dreamy photos (like the first kiss and cake cutting) to ensuring everything ran on schedule without a hitch. On the day, Elena was a true lifesaver. From the rehearsal to the ceremony and reception, I never once had to worry about where I needed to be or what was next. She kept everything moving smoothly, pointing me in the right direction while allowing me to fully enjoy the company of our guests and the magic of the day. And she always made sure we were taken care of (never without a drink in hand!). Her leadership and attention to detail made it all so effortless for us. Florals: Melissa tackled all of our floral arrangements, and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out! I booked her early and we initially just did a couple meetings to discuss our vision and needs regarding coordination, vendor contracts and florals since we did not need a full-planning service, only partial. She was always upfront and gave me honest opinions especially when it came to where to splurge and save, and what could look good and what wouldn't. The last 2 months is where she really shined, helping us follow up with vendors on details, setting deadlines for me to book rentals, reviewing contracts and constantly doing sanity checks when I needed it. The day of, she came extremely prepared, everything flowed smoothly (except some technical issues on part of the venue) and she was great at going with the flow and just letting the vibe and natural mood of the day go, and fixing whatever problems I threw at her. We also had her as our florist and she truly out did herself- her prices were incredibly reasonable and she handled everything like a champ when her assistant got sick the day of the reception. She also took my back and forth floral design suggestions and changes very well, as I am quite particular on details in some areas and deferred to her expertise in others. Honestly could not have done it without her and she was without a doubt my #1 worth it vendor! Would absolutely hire her for all your wedding planning and floral needs.
