Salad, potato wedges, and tortillas also came with our meal. Everything was nicely presented and tasted great! All of the dishes were so flavorful. We ended up ordering more of our favorites for our first dinner stop. There was also a young lady playing some tunes, so it made the ambience a little more romantic. She doesn't work for the restaurant, so we just gave her a tip before she left. The only complaint I have is that mosquitos and flies were buzzing around once the sun was starting to set. Separated only by a small offset of rocks you can climb over, Playa Manzanillo sits to left of Angelito & has a much more beautiful beach that backs up into the cliff with many tropical plants & palm trees surround. The beach itself is very small but is at least 5 feet deep soon as you enter. Making it the perfect beach for adults to gather round in & socialize. There is also some great snorkeling around the rocks. I saw a giant sea turtle & a eel one day. Very cool! :)) There are many cute restaurants that provide lounge chairs, umbrellas, food & drink service that have very good food & as long as you purchase drinks & food you can use the lounge chairs & umbrellas for free. This is my favorite place to go sit beachside, have a leisurely lunch, have a coco frio and/or a few beers or margaritas & go for a swim. It's mostly Europeans, locals & a few tourist. Some local guitars players usually come by that 'play for pay' & a few others selling their handmade goods. It's pretty laid back & peaceful which I adore. If you like a laid back clothing optional beach where you can UNPLUG & UNWIND, just have a peaceful, chill day in paradise with the love of your life or your BFF, you will love Playa Manzanillo. It gets pretty packed on the weekends so plan accordingly. Recommend for Adults Only.

There is usually a crowd waiting to eat here but don't just get in line--make sure you check in and put your name on the waitlist first. They will call your name when a table is ready for you. Although it's bustling, service is prompt & food comes out quickly. Everything we got was solid breakfast. Not pictured but we also ordered takeout from here when I was having stomach problems, and the chicken soup + chocolate cake really hit the spot. I don't think you need to go out of your way to try it but worth eating at if the wait isn't too long and you're in the area!

Locally, it's the most popular place where everyone goes for brunch, date night or a special occasion, as it has fabulous views, great food & is very romantic. The hotel & restaurant is very beautiful, the service is excellent & the Local Oaxaca food is always amazing here. I spent about a year here & ate here a lot. It's one of my favorite places in Puerto Escondido. I always end up here. One of my most favorite fish dishes of all time is the banana leaf wrapped filet in adobo. Its phenomenal. I also love the fresh octopus & the shrimp & filet. The breakfast/brunch is also fabulous, the fresh fruit dishes are amazing & the burger is a fresh ground short rib. Hubby & I love that they sprinkle the fries with fresh local Oaxacan cheese & herbs. Of course the Margaritas are also excellent, it's a must visit place when in Puerto Escondido for cocktails & sunsets. Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer, and this is one of our favorite dreamy destinations. Highest Recommendations.

Very good otherwise, but I wanted heat! Also tried the arrachera which was again, good, but not great for Mexico. I get it. It's a hotel restaurant which probably caters to American and Canadian tastes, but I guess there should be an option for those that like spicy food :) So many tourist spots have a killer super spicy salsa to make up for this, but sadly we didn't find it here. Getting there was also a little challenge. We had no problem with our cab driver that we made friends with, but it might be a challenge or actually a reason to charge more for the carefree tourist. There is actually quite a bit of unpaved bumpy dirt road to get there A good reminder to ask about the fare before you take the ride. I was shocked how little our guy charged us but he did say he would charge more if we were a normal tourist fare. Worth the trip for the views and service for sure. Looks like a great surf spot in the cove below too!
