Preface: This is a midwestern Mexican restaurant. Being from down south I expected bland food. Why? That's who they cater to. Pro tip, ask for the house made hot sauce. OMG, it changes everything! Service is awesome; food, best midwest Mexican I could ask for. Ask for the sauce.

I am a regular here at Las Brisas, but I thought why not leave a review as my dinning experience today. I go off a 10/10 scale and every time something wrong happens I think if it is regular or not. So started out great with a nice warm welcome and the waiter was very patient and nice. I got cheese dip and ordered a grilled chicken cheese quesadilla. The chips were a little harder than usual but I'm not complaining. I just got the cheese and it already had clumps of cheese. -1. I want the cheese smooth. Just got my food as you can see below. It was good. I do have to say you have to pay a little more for using a card than cash. So overall I say 9/10 recommend.

While traveling we were staying the night at The Super 8...Las Brisas was a short walk away. We went there for dinner and were very happy with the margaritas, food, service and prices.

I spotted a big sign for Las Brisas shortly after passing Sikeston, MO on I-57 E and decided to take my chances--trying a place without yelping it first is a rare thing for me these days. It's in the middle of nowhere and didn't look like much from the outside, but as soon as I stepped inside, I was ecstatic! The same kind of painted chairs/booths as the great Mexican restaurant I used to frequent in Memphis! I had to ask the young man which part of Mexico they are from and he said Jalisco, where the El Gallo Giro people are from as well (I believe). From the booths, chairs, table tops to the wall paintings, the interior oozes cultural pride. The food was as impressive as the décor. Complimentary chips and salsa both above average. My travel companion practically scraped clean his huge plate of chimichanga, rice and beans. While the chicken enchilada and chile relleno might have been a little too cheesy and saucy for my timid palate, I still ate more than usual and he had no problem helping me finish up the plate. As he dipped the last chip into the rich cheese and sauce mixture on my plate, he declared this as the best Mexican food he had since leaving California (take it with a grain of salt as hunger might have clouded his judgment). Driving through the mid section of the country isn't the most exciting road trip of all, but finding a place like Las Brisas will surely brighten up your drive! Right off Exit 12 on I-57 with gas stations nearby, just do it.

We were on a very long road trip and decided to stop for some real Mexican food! I saw the reviews were great on here so we chose Las Brisas and were not disappointed. The food was good and the service was great. The restaurant was clean and we received our food in a timely fashion. We will definitely be back since we make this trip once a year. I am glad we discovered Las Brisas!

It's not authentic I can tell you that, the horchata was watery, the taco was sad and the enchiladas made me mad. I was hungry though.

Nice atmosphere. The food is pretty good compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Affordable pricing and friendly staff.

Service was fast but the food was average. Restrooms were not clean and there were lots of flies.

I'm unsure how something this good ended up here, but I'm happy it has. The tongue gorditas were little pockets of flavor; the lengua being done just right. $1 tacos (Tuesday's only) were a treat: the asada, pollo, and pastor being good and filling. Stop on by, the only real Mexican joint in Union City.

The front of the store is jammed with fresh produce in a small fridge and a wall of assorted baked Mexican pastries. The rest of the storefront was squeezed full of different hot sauces and other snacks and drinks. The back of the place was where the food magic happens. The menu is stupid simple (and I mean this in a good way) I opted for the torta cubana that I've heard so much about and IT WAS THE BEST DECISION. I've never had bread like it---super pillowy and soft. The sandwich was stuffed and overflowing with Al pastor and asada and a questionable hotdog/ham love child. The sandwich was huge and I definitely left with a happy full belly. My friends ordered tacos and apparently there was nothing super special about those...it's probably still worth coming back for $1 taco Tuesday! All in all, give this place a shot if you're into those hole-in-the-wall experiences. You won't he disappointed!

We popped in on a Sunday and ordered a picture of margaritas to start off with! Here's a tip for those of us visiting Kentucky. The server looked at me as though I had two heads! He then repeated it to me, as though I must've misspoken. . . "A picture of Margarita's?" I confirmed, Ummm yes, we'll take the midday drunk special please, and thank you so much! I mean I didn't say it... I didn't have to say it... "It's Sunday" the man reminded me gently. I'm sure my face was absolutely blank. Ummmm?? Hmmm... 'Sunday you say?'... Turns out you cannot buy alcohol in Kentucky on a Sunday, and here I am trying to order a whole dang picture in broad daylight when my butt probably should've been in church if I was gunna be in Kentucky. The place was super clean. Nothing sticky icky or gooey. Outside of not offering up illegal alcoholic beverages on Sundays, our server was great! The food though. OMG. The FOOD! First, I don't know why anyone ever orders anything other than "The Special Dinner" I ordered that and 420 munchies were covered ALL NIGHT! It's like 5 entres for 12 bucks! The bathrooms were clean, there was a step so not so much wheelchair accessible. Rich and Kai LOVED their foods too!
