We were on a road trip and I had a hankering for chicken tortilla soup. So, I jumped on Yelp to find a nearby Mexican restaurant and Las Brisas just happened to be two exits down. I'm glad it was. It was mid-afternoon so there were only a few customers. The place was clean and cute. The waitress was friendly, prompt and accurate. Now, the star of the show was the chicken tortilla soup. It was a large bowl chocked full of broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and perfectly seasoned shredded chicken. The tortilla chips and cheese were nestled on top and rice cam e as a side. To say this style of soup was unexpected is an understatement. To say it was delicious, does not do it justice. Yea...I'm a fan. The red sauce on the enchiladas (my wife enjoyed them) was very good. If I'm ever passing through again, I'll be back to this joint. read more

For the price, this place is phenomenal. Food is excellent, beverages are so cheap (beers and margaritas only $4, not during happy hour). I had the steak burrito, fiancé had the pollo ranchero. Both were fantastic, but after a lunch at salt + smoke in St. Louis, neither of us could finish. But they were huge and delicious. We're moving to Cape Girardeau soon, and we will be back. read more

My cousin and my sister tells me I need to go to this authentic Mexican Restaurant. They tell me this it's the best, it's authentic, they are very accommodating. Well they were right, the staff is very accommodating, authentic and the food is great. The ambiance and decorations are very Mexican style. Their table service is second to none. In my opinion, the 2 areas they fall short on is; 1. Our food orders seem to be brought to our table as the food orders were completed in the kitchen. 2. Their building is a remodeled fast food hamburger place, which is obvious. For these 2 reasons and they have been in business in this area for just under 2 years, I gave 4 stars. I believe as this business develops, they have the potential to grow and mature The table service, ambiance and the food was clearly 5 stars. Good food, great prices. The thing that sets Las Brisas apart is the freshness of the food. Everything is made to order. The chips are hot and the salsa is cold. I do wish they put more salt on the salsa, but Scott city has lots of older folk who wouldn't eat it. would be five stars if they had some beer! read more

Over the years, I have found that your opinion and my opinion on Mexican food can be very different! We stopped in for lunch, actually driving from the Cape. Service is spot on as the chips are delivered before you can get comfortable. There is always a lunch special that is very economical (not cheap because there is good value there.) This little Mexican restaurant located in Scott city is a very nice restaurant. Clean and great service and good quality food. It is authentic Mexican restaurant with a wide variety of items on the menu. The only downside to this restaurant for some people might be that they do not serve alcohol. But other than that this restaurant is definitely worth the trip to Scott city Missouri. This restaurant can get a little bit busy on Friday and Saturday evenings at peak times so you might want to plan your trip around that. Otherwise go and enjoy the food. read more

Here is the correct number: 573-264-4737 I have it on speed dial. :) One of the girls even remembers what our kids like to eat when I wasn't with them one time and hubby took them to eat there after church. Always friendly. I like that they bring the food when it is done. Otherwise, it might get cold waiting on other's food at our table. You can order over the phone get it thru the drive-thru. We do that too. You also get chips & salsa too. At least, I do. My favorite dish is the Chimichangas! Steak, beef or chicken. Ummm...I am hungry now!
