Went in there Friday night ordered dinner my roommate ordered her dinner, took one bite food was cold ask them could they reheat it, waitress, took my plate to get back to the kitchen brought it out a few minutes later the plate was hot and how they manage that I don't know but the food was still cold. I am a long time patron of this resteraunt. We go there pretty much once a week, however service continues to slip. They rotate workers frequently, which drops the service quality Today for instance called in a to go order a child's plate, a cheese quesadilla, and nacho Supreme. They confirmed this three times on the phone and then again at the window. They then left out the quesadilla, so I pulled back around and was told it would be an extra $7(rounded). I let them know I paid already, a kid took my payment, she searched through random receipts and said that wasn't the case but never gave me an itemized receipt. This is just one instance, but the others include wrong orders, hour delays in the often empty resteraunt, etc it's sad the service used to be amazing. read more

We always receive awesome service and great food here. The chips and salsa are good. The carne asada is very good. My husband gets a fajita fried inside a pineapple half with extra jalapeños. They have options for kids that are worried about trying something different. The drinks come in very large mugs. Overall good standard American-Mexican food. read more

I just moved back to Jackson and was delighted to discover its as good as ever. The portions are big enough for two meals so the prices are a bargain. The staff are friendly and attentive. I think the food is better than at the Cape restaurant, especially the lunch buffet. I wish the salsa were spicier, though! Maybe you could have two versions? read more

Just moved to Jackson from Texas and this is the best Mexican food I have found! The carnitas are incredible and almost melt in your mouth. The atmosphere was great with friendly service that was entertaining and helped navigate the menu. Cons: Not a fan of their red enchilada sauce... everything that I have had north of texas tastes like tomato paste : / their margaritas seemed a little odd as well. Food is bland and not authentic. Several years ago I came to this location and asked for hot sauce and they brought out Tabasco. I decided to be more specific and asked for Tapatio or Cholula and they brought me a lage bowl of somehow that resembled a type of Chinese hot sauce. I gave up at that point. We recently came for their Mexican buffet, which could either be the best thing or worst thing ever. I first checked out the buffet and noticed most items appeared brown and dry, and confirmed my decision to avoid when I saw that they thought people wanted to pay 11.99 for that GI distress in the making on the weekend. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Jackson. My go too is the steak fajita nachos. Very good blend of steak onions and peppers. Recommend adding a fresh jalapeño. My wife does the Che Ken chimichanga or steak fajitas. Both are excellent. Great beer value too! Another great meal!!! Steak fajita nachos and chicken chimichanga!!! My husband and I love Mexican food. Several other Mexican restaurants in the area are fine but don't have a buffet. I heard that they did so we thought we would give them a try. Even though they were super crowded about noon on a Sunday, the food was good, hot, and delicious. Our waitress was SO! helpful and offered to have the kitchen make any dish on the buffet with corn rather than flour tortillas to accommodate for a gluten free diet. You don't get service like that everyday on a buffet or even ordering off the menu actually. We will be going back soon I'm sure and highly recommend the Jackson Missouri El Toreros. I love Mexican food, and living in a small town like Jackson you'll get restaurants like this. This place is ok, its affordable and all but most of the food runs right through you. The place seems very clean and well managed, I just wish it was "a hair" warmer during winter, it seems to have a slight chill. read more

I love Mexican food. It's my go-to cuisine when I'm out and about. Burritos and tacos take me to my happy place. Pico de gallo makes me feel warm and fuzzy! I've had my fair share of the good, bad, and ugly Mexican. With that being said,this restaurant did not disappoint! It was soooooooo good. The ingredients were fresh, and the service was great. I had the fajita platter with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It tasted HEAVENLY. It was seasoned to perfection, and the different flavors created a party for my taste buds. My biggest pet peeve in Mexican food, is when the beans and rice are bland. I hate when they lack flavor and are on your plate just to fill it up. Not this time. Those beans and rice were really good. My mother ordered the chimichanga platter. DELICIOUS. The leftovers were even great the next day. It's hard to ruin Mexican food, so I'm thankful that this place knocked it out of the park. Next time I'm in Jackson, I will be visiting for another delicious meal. The restaurant was spacious, the refills were quick, and the servers were very good. This place really earned a 5 star review. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it!! read more

This is a good resturant. The food is typical for a Midwest Mexican restaurant but is usually done well. The lunch buffet was a great idea and is always awesome. They don't rip you off with choices and even include deserts. If you leave hungry, it's your fault. read more

Food was okay but service was terrible. Took 10 minutes to get drinks. Took 10 minutes after it was ordered to get outlr cheese sauce for the chips. Food came out in a good time. Our waitress was given a party table of 30-40 people and we were never given to someone else. After our food was delivered we never saw her again and no one else in the restaurant was any help. My empty drink cup sat at the end of the table for 15 minutes and was still sitting there when we left. Expected better service for a meal I paid money for. read more

Ordered for takeout & went through the drive-through to pick it up. got home & was missing the cheese dip. Called them and spoke to the manager who refused to credit it back to my card. He told me I could come back and get it. I didn't want to I was already home. I asked again just to credit it. He said no. He told me I could bring the order back and show him it's missing. What?
