We popped in on a Sunday and ordered a picture of margaritas to start off with! Here's a tip for those of us visiting Kentucky. The server looked at me as though I had two heads! He then repeated it to me, as though I must've misspoken. . . "A picture of Margarita's?" I confirmed, Ummm yes, we'll take the midday drunk special please, and thank you so much! I mean I didn't say it... I didn't have to say it... "It's Sunday" the man reminded me gently. I'm sure my face was absolutely blank. Ummmm?? Hmmm... 'Sunday you say?'... Turns out you cannot buy alcohol in Kentucky on a Sunday, and here I am trying to order a whole dang picture in broad daylight when my butt probably should've been in church if I was gunna be in Kentucky. The place was super clean. Nothing sticky icky or gooey. Outside of not offering up illegal alcoholic beverages on Sundays, our server was great! The food though. OMG. The FOOD! First, I don't know why anyone ever orders anything other than "The Special Dinner" I ordered that and 420 munchies were covered ALL NIGHT! It's like 5 entres for 12 bucks! The bathrooms were clean, there was a step so not so much wheelchair accessible. Rich and Kai LOVED their foods too!

I loved the fact that they kept bringing out warm chips with salsa. The fajitas consisted of a mixture of meats, including beef, chicken, and shrimp on a nice sizzling hot plate. When we arrived, we were immediately sat at the booth. The service was on point as they were pretty expedient with taking our order and bring out the food in a timely manner. In order to pay, you simply just head to the front counter like Denny's. I was able to use my credit card for payment.

It's in a former Ruby Tuesday, and there is a bar. We sat at the bar, and were brought some chips and salsa before we had even ordered any drinks. The menu was large, and the prices were reasonable. There were also some happy hour specials on margs and beer. A 21 ounce glass of margarita (with ice) for $5.99. They had a handful of draft beers as well. The food was good enough, and came out in a decent amount of time. I had the enchiladas Mexican flag, three chicken enchiladas, one with red sauce, one with white sauce and one with green sauce served on a piping hot plate, and had no complaints about it. The bartender was nice although a little bit scattered, but I would come in again if I was staying next door.

The man who served me was very polite and informative about the deals and food prices. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and a roll. The roll was delicious--it tasted fresh and had what seemed like a honey butter glaze on top. The spicy chicken sandwich had good flavor, but the bread was a bit soggy from being pre-packaged. I think these sandwiches would be even better if they were made upon request to avoid the bread getting soggy from sitting too long. The seating area was decent for a shared restaurant space, which is located next to another quick food option and connected to a gas station. The area was clean, well-lit, and had plenty of windows, creating a comfortable environment for a quick bite. I didn't notice if drinks were available in this section since I already had one with me. Overall, it's a nice little stop if you're looking for a quick meal, and if you enjoy fried chicken, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.

However, I wish I had taken a photo of my husband's platter--carnitas (pork tips), rice, beans, jalapenos, lettuce and tomatoes, and tortillas. He said, "It was all delicious, but the pork was incredible, so tender and moist." He orders carnitas often back in our hometown and as we travel. He said this was the best ever. We have only been to Sikeston twice. The first time we had the "throwed rolls" because who could pass up that experience? This time it was El Cerrito, and now that we will be traveling to Chicago more often because of a family member's move, we will go right back to El Cerrito, a welcoming family restaurant with super good food. P.S. Someone had ordered something that was served in a half a pineapple. It was so lovely. I asked what it was but can't remember the name. The daughter of the owner said it was a fajita served in the pineapple and that the fajita took on some of the pineapple flavor, a very tempting selection. In addition to the food, the service was excellent as well.
