I went to Chop'd for the first time today and I really enjoyed my meal…read more Chop'd is a salad place and they do it well. While thy have ready made stuff like wrap soup etc for me their USP is that you can make your own salad from the tons of fresh ingredients. Start with a base - deli leaves, couscous or pasta, add upto 3 toppings or house items (4 if you don't need a bag), one main deli item like mozzarella or chorizos or roast chicken, could even double up and then add sundries and garnishing and finish it off with a choice of dressing. They have a wide variety of ingredients so the number of permutations and combination that you could try out is probably a million different. I would like to mix different things up and try out, I feel that it will never be boring unlike the other traditional pre-made salad places. The staff were helpful and guided me through the process and the meal is reasonably priced (under six quid for a standard salad). My salad has a deli leaves base with eggs, chopped onions, mixes peppers and Jalapeños. For the deli side I chose Chorizo and Roast chicken and garnished with some corriander and finished it with classic cease dressing. The salad was super tasty and all ingredients were of top notch quality and I for one is going to be a regular. 4 stars only because of the long wait time today but it will not deter me! PS: found out just now that they have an app and you can order your food online and it will be kept ready for you when you get there!

Don't try to find it based on its address - just go to Waitrose (at the underground level) then turn left. it is right below KPMG. The food at Curry Garden Blackheath is better than average, but it's let down by average value and…read morepoor service. With the exception of their specials on Tuesday and Sunday nights, many of Blackheath's other Indian restaurants provide better value. The food, although well made, is overpriced and in smaller portions compared to restaurants like Taste of Raj around the corner, which is only slighly more expensive but far superior. We were charged also £3 for a large serve of coke each, which was poured from a flat warm bottle kept under the counter. We told the person in charge that the drinks were flat, but he insisted they weren't, before making a big show of opening another warm bottle in front of us to show it wasn't flat. Would a cold can or individual bottle been too much to expect for that price? The biggest dispappointment during our visit was the attitude of the waiters. Most Indian restaurants bend over backwards for their customers, but, with the exception of replacing our drink, Curry Garden left us waiting around between courses despite only two tables being occupied. To add to the insult, they charge a 12.5% service charge, which is displayed on a hand written receipt which didn't even specify what we'd been charged for - only a series of added up numbers. With the number of Indian Restaurants around the Blackheath Greenwhich area, I'll definately be going somewhere else next time I want a curry.

Considering this place is way out in the middle of nowhere, it's pretty good!…read more The place is cosy and inviting and has some outdoor seating which is a nice touch. The staff are friendly and children are welcome. It was quite busy when we arrived but they were still able to accommodate us with no reservation... I had the doogh to drink, which was delicious. Unlike some other places, theirs is not as thick so it's easier to drink... Then I had a skewer of chicken with a skewer of minced lamb. The lamb was really nice but I found the chicken a bit bland. I'm sure it was really well prepared but I wanted some chilli sauce and they were quite busy so it was difficult to get their attention to ask for some. Everyone else thought theirs was delicious! Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something to eat in the area :)

They have a lunch offer available where you can get 2 courses for £7.95 and if you are a Lewisham council employee they will also give you a complimentary soft drink. I tried the hummus and bread to start and the lamb moussaka for my main and both were delicious. You get a huge portion of hummus, way too much to finish and the moussaka was really tasted and the accompanying salad tasted so fresh. My colleague tried the tzatziki and lamb kebab and she said it tasted great. Service is swift, which is what you need at lunchtime and the decor and environment is very open and modern. At the time of our visit it was a lovely summer day so they had the large windows open, which was nice and you could even sit outside if you wished, but I would expect it could be quite noisy as it is on the main road.

Server said they would come out slow. Umm about 7 dishes all at once on table and then last 2 were fish. Server rude, ghost like, ignorant. No one checked in on us, offered us another drink. What I hate about Europe is added tip. I will not come back because I felt he almost was purposely ignoring us. Credit card "declined" because he doesn't even know how to use the card reader. Had to do it for him. Anyway... smoke aubergine delish with a crunch on it. Spicy Feta not that spicy and more like whipped cream but super good. Pita was like four quarters of one, very minimal and boy was it good but expensive. Bluefin toro was delish as was the black cod. We had Manhattans that were perfect. Will not be back unfortunately after spending over 250 pounds for self service basically. Management, get this guy out.
