We just finished our pool on June 5 2023 with Barr Pool and the experience was great!…read moreWe had 4 companies bid out our pool and the prices varied by about $20,000. Barr was not the cheapest but not the even close to the most expensive pool builder. So why did we pick Barr Pool? When we met with Mark (Owner) compared to the other companies you feel like you are being treated by someone who cares about the service and large investment you are about to make. He is the owner and it is a local family business. Mark fielded our numerous questions during the quote process and during the design/layout phase, he was extremely knowledgably and he did not try to pressure us to upgrade if not needed (2 of the 4 other companies tried to have us purchase unneeded products). The Barr Team was responsive, timely, and professional during the entire process. This is a long process but worth it. You have the waiting list phase (ours was 10 long months), the staging phase (bring equipment over to our house about 1 month), and construction phase (8 Weeks). Mark told us up front that they will show up and complete the work needed and then bounce but they stuck to the agreed timeline. There are 3 different teams I worked with during the construction. Mark (Main POC and general contractor), Walter and Manuel they did majority of the detailed work. The framing, electrical, gas, hooking up all the equipment, anything major going into the pool these two accomplished and did above the bar outstanding work. The concrete/excavation crew was done by Simon's concrete and when they showed up big things happened. We went from grass in our yard to a dirt hole the size of our pool with the initial framing in 8 hours, 20 yards of concrete in a 8 hours, a team of 6 people that worked some hard labor and exceeded at it. The only negative was they left my yard a mess with the excess concrete dumped in the corner. I addressed this with mark and it was taken care of immediately. As of today we are one week into the pool being finished, 3 pool parties completed, and we are completely happy with the outcome of the pool and with the selection of Barr Pools. I have referred 3 people to them and would highly recommend them if you are considering building a pool. I will do an end of season update of this review in October. If you have any questions or comments shoot me an email and I will be happy to talk more in depth with you. Cheers! Josh

Page did my home in Brigham in 1990, my home in Layton in 2010, and my home in Fruit Heights in…read more2020. I had always really liked them. But, on my kitchen ceiling, in my new home, a tape seam separated. Page came and looked at it, and quickly wanted to blame it on a roof leak. I verified that wasn't the case by getting into the attic and checking everywhere, especially above the bad seam and on the sheetrock itself. I've never seen a seam do what this did, but according to Pages, it does happen. I accept it happens, but I think the cause is poor application of mud on the tape prior to closing the joint. And, I thought they'd come and just fix it. But, they wanted to charge me $300 for doing this. This really disappointed me, and so I've written this review. I'm also leaving the tape job like it is for now, and when people ask, I tell them the story. It's a conversation starter, and not a good one for Page.

We had an excellent experience with Utah Basements this past year. They completed our unfinished…read morebasement with 2 bedrooms, large living area, exercise room, utility room, linen closet, under the stairs closet, and full bath. They were able to schedule us immediately once we received all the bids, and the project took roughly 9 weeks from start to final walkthrough. Utah Basements was the second highest bid received, partly because they did not do the flooring (which we got through RC Willey). Communicating with Todd was very convenient, and he responded quickly to text, email, and messages through the UBKB online client portal, where we formally documented design changes. Victor was on site most days and was extremely professional and very friendly. He answered all of our questions, gave helpful suggestions, and always contacted us when there was an issue or he needed direction. Once materials were in, the crew made fantastic progress framing, plumbing, and electrical. The rest of the process went very smoothly, with the minor exception that a bunch of paint touch ups were needed, but those were taken care of immediately. Overall we had a top-notch experience with Todd, Victor and UBKB, couldn't be happier with the final product, and would definitely recommend them if you need a basement finished!

I wanted to update my original review to reflect the full experience…read more When we first hired this company to replace our roof, we did run into some communication challenges and delays that were frustrating at the time. There was a staffing change during our project, and unfortunately we were given incorrect contact information during the transition. Because of that, the company wasn't aware we were still trying to resolve a remaining issue. Once they saw there was an issue they reconnected, they responded and worked with us to address the concerns, including making sure everything met city permit requirements. I really appreciate that they ultimately stood behind their work and followed through. While the process took longer than we expected, I'm glad we were able to get everything resolved. Overall, I appreciate their willingness to come back and make things right.
