First time at this shop. I found Jeff and his staff friendly and knowledgeable. My Saturn Vue was towed in. Jeff knew exactly what was wrong, he thought he would not be able to get to it until the next day but he was able to replace the starter the same day and it was a good price for the quality of service priced. I have gone to this auto repair shop for over fifteen years. I always recommended them to people but will not any more. The last few times I have used them they now charge a minimum of two hours to fix something. Also they do not accurately diagnose the problem abd cost us a thousand dollars for something that was not the problem! They broke another part two of the times we went and did nit offer to fix them. Their hourly price went way up on top of it all. I am disappointed. read more

I was referred here from a family member as they have used Larry's Auto Repair numerous times, they spoke highly of them. My truck was having issues and I took it in to get it checked, friendly customer service and was told they would call me as soon as they found out what was wrong. I received a call the same day, and spoke with Jeff. He explained to me exactly what the problem was and what to do to fix it. My truck had two issues, the Ignition coil on the #4 cylinder was basically dead, and he also informed me the spark plugs should be replaced. It wasn't necessary to get my truck running but highly recommended. I chose to give the go ahead to fix the coil and change out the spark plugs. After going in and removing the plugs it was found that one was almost out, which had been causing my truck to have a ticking noise. I previously had other people take a look and everyone kept saying it was my lifters. Nope...just a lose plug. Everything was fixed within two days and my truck runs smoother than before, and NO ticking anymore. Honest reliable work, definitely recommend. read more

Have to update my review cuz, well, we had to buy a new transmission for the hubs 98' Ford F150 with over 168K miles on it! Needed a brake job too. Cheapest place in town? No. Honest and hard working owner that keeps his nose in every job that goes out of his shop? Yes! Tells you what you really need and doesn't try to up-sell? Yes! Gives you a ride home if you need it? Yes! Tells you if he's too bizi to do it today? Yes! I picked up the hubs truck upon completion of the work since he was out of town. Neighbor gave me a ride to Larry's. Sidebar: the fire engine red El Camino he drives? Larry did the engine-it purs! Got down to the joint and was talking to Larry and his desk guy about my 02' Camry-you see it's at 100K and hasn't had any service to date. Larry gave me some valuable information as I waited to pay the hubs bill. Seems Toyota's have this thing called a timing belt. At 100K you absolutely need to check it....I did not know! (looks like mfg recommends checking it every 60K-wow, I've dodged the bullet) So, any warning the belt's going bye bye-No, no warning and the car will just STOP RUNNING- What? And as it is flying off, it may ruin the valves! Ikes-time to take the Camry in. Thanks Larry for saving me some bucks! read more

They have done good work for me over the past 16 years. Once ,they felt that the heater was fixed but it needed to be replaced so they adjusted the price. They don't have to make work, they have plenty of work and sometimes they are booked. Can't argue with a lot full of cars to work on. Good at explaining thiings, good prices. read more

I called this place to get my car fixed for smog under the CAP program in California and the first thing the guy asked me was if it was under CAP and then he proceeded to state that I won't be able to get my car into the shop to get fixed until April. That's bullshit! So then I asked well what if I needed to get my car fixed for something else and I guess he had to stick with his story and say they were all booked till April. I mean what auto repair shop is booked in advanced for 3 months? These guys just don't want to contribute and participate under the CAP program and even though they are listed as a gold shield repair shop for smog they will not fix your car. I have been using Larry's Auto repair for many years now, starting around 2005 with my 1974 Chevy Malibu. I initially went there because I routinely noticed vintage cars being worked on at their shop and figured that they like to work on older cars. I was right; Larry and his crew got it running again for me at a reasonable cost and I was very satisfied. Since then they have regularly serviced and repaired my 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora and being an older car, it has issues. Larry's was always upfront with me about what was involved fixing it and the final bill was always below the estimate. Lately they have been servicing my 2003 Oldsmobile Aurora as well. They listened to me when I described the issues with my car rather than talking over me and trying to suggest the most expensive fix like a lot of shops will do these days. I'm home! meaning my 61 Lincoln didn't stall. I have been to no fewer than four mechanics that supposedly work on old, non-computerized cars (don't want to mention names, but one was in north stockton, one on country club, one was italian, and one had the midas touch). I spent a couple-thousand dollars trying to correct a stalling/vapor lock issue with my antique. Larry and his crew took the time to trace the problem back to something the other "pros" could not. I wish i would have gone to him first. If your car had a caruretor, take it to Larry's; he and his crew are the best! read more

My brother-in-law recommended this place to me when I told him Hyundai charges too much (and I wasn't sure that I could trust what they were doing). This place is great. I took my son's 77 Ford Ranchero to 3 shops to find out why it was dying all the time. The truck was always fine when it left the auto shop, but a day or two later, it wouldn't work again. Of course no one guaranteed their work. It was always "oh well". Larry's found the problem....live wires going nowhere were draining the battery. Sounds simple. (Then again I know nothing about cars.) How come no one else could find that? They are honest and don't try to sell you expensive parts and unnecessary auto procedures. They give me options. In fact, I bring my 09 Sonata there now too. It broke down last weekend and was towed there today! Great place! read more

My little car means the world to me right now for it is the only thing i have to drive and it was time for the smog test will it didn't pass smog so i put in for the bar program and by the time it was ready for my car to go get the smog done the bar program had ran out of money so Larry's put in for the new program out there that the state of ca won from the oil company and got it OK to fix my car and they even pay more to fix it than bar's does 800.00 or so they had my car for a couple of weeks it was and inconvenience but Larry went above and beyond to fix my car for me i am so grateful the him and all the mechanics that worked on my little Mazda for me they did a heck of a good on it and it runs like brand new i would recommend them to any one that need car repairs done no matter what they are they are very hard working and i don't want to forget Darren i think that is how you spell it he is the one behind the desk doing all the paper work that gets your car taken care of right so i say ha ray to all of them and thank you from my heart for fixing my car for me thank you Ms.Ledford read more
