What a joke! We put an offer on a property that was a short sale and gave our good faith payment of…read more$500 to the realtor. Knowing short sales can take a while I checked the listing on MLS 3 weeks after putting in the offer, and it said the property was under agreement. Weird, we hadn't heard if our offer was accepted or not. I had my husband check our bank account, and our CHECK WAS CASHED! What?!?! I thought they couldn't do that without a signed agreement from both parties? Our broker tried numerous times to get in touch with the realtor who ignored her repeatedly. When she finally decided to call her back she said she never received a check from us and there were 4 other offers on the property. When our broker sent her a copy of the cashed check she said it was her manager that did it and there were other offers on the property so her manager must have put it under agreement. So, our broker contacted the manager who of course had no knowledge of any of this (organized place, huh)? The next day our broker gets an email from the manager saying she was sending our check back and there was confusion as to what she was told about our situation. To her knowledge there were no other offers on the property and she was told an agreement was signed by both parties which is why she cashed the check. Our broker also received an email from the agent who screwed everything up who blamed everything on 3-4 weeks of computer problems.....are you kidding me? This place is so dishonest and unorganized. I wouldn't let them handle something as important as purchasing a home if they can't even handle an offer letter and one check. Good luck if you have to deal with this office!
