I agree with some comments here that if it had a lick of paint and they renewed one or two carpets it would bump up their ratings. However, it would presumably also put up the prices at what is a value offering. It was a perfectly good experience and would be happy to come back. If you want a basic but comfortable, slightly old fashioned hotel with no sense of a chain about it, it would be a decent choice.

Because it was the new year, we were treated to complimentary bottle of Prosecco and the children got treats and books. April is the manager at this location and she was brilliant. From all the breakfast choices, unlimited juices (orange, cranberry, grapefruit and apple) I was most excited about the automatic self serve coffee maker! This coffee maker was impressive and made espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, white coffees and lattes in one touch! This American definitely was not searching around town for a Starbucks because of this machine!

Service was struggling on the night but still only had a 15 min wait. For the beer drinker they had London Pride and another beer on draught. You can get Wi-Fi in the room but it is quite expensive and surely the penny will drop with the Premier Inn people that this is getting to be an essential. However, if you want to log on it will cost you a fiver or more for longer. Receptionist was very helpful and there is a pay as you go internet service in the lobby. Overall good value and certainly better than the places I normally stay in Sevenoaks.There is a good car park which is free and I have never had any trouble parking. Just the right amount of food, two pieces of crusty toast and a savory veggie patty which reminded me of harvest burgers in the 90s when I first became a vegetarian. Very tasty. They have a 24/7 bar (yaaaaaas) and an excellent wine list. Great dry white wines. My other breakfast here I ordered salmon and cream cheese toast (instead of a croissant) and the husband got one of the croissants. It was good. Top that off with a nice cold Prosecco and that's a nice Saturday morning holiday. :) the guy who waited on us July 12 in the morning gave us outstanding service. Both of the young women working at the reception desk - one when we checked in and another one when we checked out - were very friendly. Since there's no elevator and we were staying on the second floor - and we'd both had back problems recently - we needed to have someone carry our luggage up the stairs, and two very friendly people carried our luggage. The room was spotless. The negatives: The soap and shampoo were in "liquid soap"-type dispensers and it was *extremely* difficult to use them. Seriously, only a miniscule amount could be obtained with each attempt and it was really irritating to use those things. The hairdryer was inside *the desk drawer* and it was attached to the drawer, plus the fact that the switch needed to be held down *continually* while using the hair dryer. The switch was really miniscule and it was literally *painful* to hold it down for that amount of time. I have some arthritis in my thumb and it was excrutiating. The mattress was hard, although we were exhausted and therefore it didn't end up being a problem. The hotel has long been owned by one family and they've had multi-generations of family members work there, so that's a really nice aspect and it's undoubtedly why everyone was so friendly and helpful.
