That worked wonderfully for us on our recent visit where we were so disappointed to find the city practically a ghost town and all the spots we'd been so excited to visit closed because it was a Monday. My friend and her young daughters and I had a terrific time perusing the eclectic offerings, including tons of great vintage and legit labels. We were offered coffee, and the gal working was super welcoming. Prices are a touch on the high side, but there are some great sales (all pink and green tickets were 25% off on our visit, and they always have sales on Mondays, which makes it a doubly delightful day to visit). My friend's kids were over the moon at the fancy outfits they found for the Captain's Dinner on their upcoming cruise.

They had a big clearance section in back that we looked through - I saw a lot of cropped tees which I know are popular but definitely not for me. Classic styles can still be found at Marushka though. I went happily into this store to buy a birthday gift for a sweet 5 year old girl. I got excited…read moreover the selection of many of her favorite things. As I talked to the clerk about how cute things were and how hard it was to decide, she snubbed me and grabbed the items and started ringing them up. I told her I was still deciding and to help the next person. Once I decided, she rang up my items. I asked if she could gift wrap and she snapped that there was no gift wrapping during the sidewalk sale. I said ok, but could I have a piece of the ribbon they usually use? Once again snapped, " no, we aren't doing any of that!" Another clerk came in and the first one was busy with another customer. I asked second clerk if it was be possible to get a box so that I could wrap my gift myself. The first clerk yelled across the counter and said I already told you we aren't doing any of that. Maybe she was annoyed by me, but I nicely asked and I believe I was kind to her. I told her she could try to be nicer. Once again, she rudely snapped , "I was nice!" My happy mood when I walked in disolved immediately. Maybe a sign should've been posted that during the sidewalk sale they won't give boxes or a gift wrap and the gift wrap could be put away in the back. With today's online ordering trend, I would think that the store would want to be especially nice to its customers. I understand it's very hard to run a small business in this day and age. I will likely take my business elsewhere.

This store sets right across from City Hall in a former residence that has been repurposed as a business and may be easily missed! Many vendors sell their hand crafted items in this shop. In fact they also do classes on Saturdays in their "Maker Space". I was inspired to visit on this snowy day in November. I browsed for gifts and enjoyed a conversation with an owner. I love that this shop is bridging the gap between business districts. They are bringing the best of downtown to the "Seventh Street district", (some of my favorite shops and businesses...JW's, Tenden, Bekins, Guitar Haven, Krizan's Citgo) Opening this business, in my opinion, is a gutsy move during this pandemic. I tip my hat and wish them well. I will be back and encourage you to visit this shop, attend a Saturday class, and browse for gifts. Their website has class schedules and vendor applications.
