Staff are normally rude and never know what the hell they are talking about. We bought a laptop that had a faulty DVD drive; they just wouldn't exchange it as if we were lying! There is a huge PC World near Brent Cross. Biggest in Europe they say, and I love going around seeing what is new. Sorry to the guys at PC World but I will always by online as its cheaper! The first guy said he was helping someone else, but would help me when he was done. I never saw that guy again. The second guy I saw walking in my direction turned to help someone else who was wearing a suit. A third guy walked past me and I asked if I could get some assistance. He said yes but was on his way to help someone else. I then sat on the counter next to the laptops, while typing this review, assuming since I was sitting on the display stand someone would come to ask me to move or offer help. Eventually the girl who was working the register offered assistance. Turns out she was in training, which must be why she was being helpful. Hasn't picked up the missing customer service skills of the others. Since she was new she needed assistance to see if they had the one I wanted in stock. So she flagged down one the third guy who was supposed to come back earlier. I told them what I wanted and they didn't have the one I wanted in stock. Or the one on the display stand next to it. So I waited forever for nothing. And this is why brick and mother stores are going out of business and people use Amazon.

But there are bargains to be had in software about to be upgraded or ex-display hardware. This store also runs a repair shop which has helped me before now. I've also found staff here to be good at giving advice, for example instructions on how to install new parts myself. One time I may have been sold the wrong part, but when it failed they refunded me no problem, even though I was slightly over the guarantee by that time. So, not always the cheapest, but dependable.

The staff was extremely helpful and was able to point me in the right direction for a data SIM card plus a top up on a dumb phone I'm borrowing.
