We know that their health and well-being are the top priority at MAH. Dr. Rice takes as much time as we need to examine our pups, answer our questions, and provide thorough and easy-to-understand assessments, guidance, and suggestions to us. The clinical and support staff here are just as great...and believe me, we put them through their paces. They're not the closest. Their not the fanciest. But they are the best!

However, the Yelp reviews here do not have the same reflection as what you may see on Google, I want to share some of my personal experience. This clinic is next to the Oakwood Cemetery, depending on which way you come from, the entry might not be that obvious. There are plenty of parking spots outside, and the building is a good size. The facility is clean, and the waiting area is decently spacious, but the lighting is kind of dim, it might not set the mood right if you are bringing in your sick companion. However, one thing I have observed is that they are short on staff, sometimes you will see no staff at the front desk. And often the staff are running back and forth in the hallway trying to accommodate different customers. They do have nice size, clean and organized examination rooms. Yet, I wish the staff here are a bit more passionate about seeing pets.

The vets said 3 months ago, he was bit by a tick. The same spot where they treated him for an infection. They never tested his blood for Lyme disease. We could have started treating it then.. When Dr. Harris quickly diagnosed Lilly as being critical as shown by bloodwork, she referred her to Latham Upstate Veterinary services for emergency admittance and overnight care. Dr. Harris sent her labs and Xrays there before we arrived. Lilly did not survive but I have some comfort in knowing that everything possible was done for her. I credit Dr Harris for recognizing how ill Lilly was when another vet had not. I even received a condolence call from Dr. Harris after Lilly passed. This is an edited review after calling this morning to try to figure out why I was suddenly charged…read morealmost $500 unexpectedly. The kennel had forgotten to charge a previous 2 night stay. They told me at one point that they don't keep a card on file, but I had given them my debit card to charge that stay and they forgot to do it. So when they remembered, rather than calling me and letting me know they were going to charge my debit card, they just charged it out and sent an invoice that said December 30. I changed my debit card number yesterday and will never give it out again this way to a business. When I called to find out what was going on, there was absolutely no accountability for the financial impact of forgetting to charge my card and then doing it without at least notifying me first. This was the culmination of several issues with the clinic. I won't go back.
