The whole place makes you feel like you're about to have a luxury experience. Then you ask for a fade. And suddenly you realize the bar is the only thing getting a smooth finish. I'm not even trying to be disrespectful, but if you're going there specifically for a haircut, PLEASE manage your expectations. If you want a drink, a manicure, a massage, or possibly a blowout, you might be in the right place. But if you want a CLEAN fade? ... RUN. I genuinely believe you'd have better luck giving yourself a haircut using your front facing camera and a pair of kitchen scissors. At one point I was looking in the mirror thinking, "Maybe this is just the first stage. Maybe they're cooking." Nope. They weren't cooking. They were microwaving. I'm not naming names because I'm not trying to ruin anybody's day, but let's just say this: if you're walking in there specifically asking for a fade, make sure whoever is holding the clippers has demonstrated that they know what a fade actually is. Because I didn't ask for a fade. I asked for a faith-based experience. I had to pray over this haircut. And the funniest part? You walk out looking at yourself like, "Maybe I'm just being dramatic." Then you get in your car. You turn on the interior light. You look again. And you realize... "OH. THEY REALLY DID THAT." So yeah, Hammer & Nails gets a solid rating for atmosphere. But for a simple fade? I'd recommend somewhere else. Honestly, you might have better luck asking a blind man with a lawn mower to give you a taper. At least then you'd know what you were getting into.

We brought our 10-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter for haircuts. One barber transformed my daughter's long bob into a pixie cut and did a good job. Another lady cut my son's hair. She wasn't great at following instructions, but the result was acceptable. Both children were charged the same $22 boys' haircut price. Today, we returned for a quick touch-up of my daughter's pixie cut before school picture day. Unfortunately, the original barber wasn't there, so the lady who previously cut my son's hair took over. What a disappointment! She struggled with a simple trim, and I had to repeatedly point out areas that needed fixing. Even then, the result wasn't right, yet she insisted otherwise. The entire haircut took less than ten minutes. She also failed to properly brush the loose hair off my daughter. When I tried to help, she took the brush out of my hand and abruptly told us to go pay. Then came the last straw. Expecting the same $22 charge as our previous visit, I handed over enough money for the haircut plus a tip. Instead, she called me back demanding more money because she'd charged my daughter the $30 WOMEN'S haircut price! Her explanation? My daughter was supposedly "old enough" for the women's rate. She's NINE! Her older brother is TEN and qualified for the boys' rate. More importantly, my daughter herself was charged $22 during our first visit! How does a complete transformation from a long bob to a pixie cut cost $22, while a poorly executed touch-up of that SAME hairstyle costs $30? If that's the shop's pricing policy, customers deserve to know BEFORE the haircut, not afterward. It's not about the extra $8. It's about inconsistent pricing, poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and disrespectful customer service. We returned because our first experience was satisfactory. Unfortunately, this second visit cost Kingsman Barbershop our family's future business. We won't be back, and I cannot recommend this place.

I recently discovered this new barber shop in Lansdowne Town Center. My former barber left the area and I really did not like his replacement in the old shop I used to go to. I figured I would take a chance with this new place as it is close to my work. I'm a classic high and tight or burr cut but my barber Mike seemed more than capable of other styles based on the previous customer's more modern hairstyle. We have recently moved to Aldie and after months of hesitation because of the COVID and being at a new address, I finally I took my kids for a haircut to this place as the only barber shop for miles. First of all they have written that they don't take any credit cards and you have to pay them cash. They barely spoke English or pretended that they don't speak English. Out of the 3 gentlemen working there, the elderly gentleman was finally available to give my kids a haircut after finishing his earlier customer. So I walked to him and tried to tell him how to cut my kids hair while he very rudely asked me to return back to the waiting area because he said ,implied, that he is the 'expert' and knows what he is doing. Then I swear he did not even clean the chair or any of the equipment with a simple brush which he had just used on someone's hair. When I complained and told them that they can not just take off their equipment off someone's hair and cut someone else's hair with them before cleaning or sanitizing them especially now that we are in the middle of a deadly pandemic and I am scared for my kids' and family's health and safety more than ever before. Obviously they did not like my comments and immediately started yelling and cursing and asked us to leave the shop. Of course they asked us to pay them first and then leave while giving my kids the worst haircut ever, obviously because they were upset about my comments. Surprisingly, the elderly gentleman who apparently barely spoke English, also gave himself a tip from my $100 bill while two of them almost got physical with me and even took off their masks in order to kick me out of the shop in front of my kids. I literally had to drive my kids all the way to Fairfax to our regular barber to fix their horrible haircut of my children for which they charged us the full price plus tip As I promised them I will report them both to the health department as well as the Better Business Bureau
