July 18, 2026 - Montrose, CO…read more The dog-friendly outdoor patio first caught our eye, and then the name--Horsefly Brewing Company--along with its great reviews convinced us to stop for lunch. We're so glad we did! The patio is spacious and comfortable, with several seating areas that give it a relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive, and his recommendation of the Flatlander Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) was spot on. Since my husband and I often split meals, we ordered one sandwich to share. To our surprise, it arrived already divided onto two separate plates--a thoughtful touch that's becoming all too rare. That kind of service definitely earns extra points. The sandwich was delicious, with grilled chicken breast, guacamole, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo, served with perfectly cooked crispy fries. I ordered an iced tea but couldn't resist trying a sample of their seasonal Peach Ale. It was so good that I ended up ordering a small glass. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but this one was outstanding. I only wish they sold it in cans so I could have taken some home! Before we left, my husband picked up a couple of cans of his favorite beers and a Horsefly T-shirt. Great food, excellent service, tasty beer, and a welcoming dog-friendly patio made this a memorable stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Back to my review now that I am back home. As I stated above I booked this two months ago to celebrate my wedding anniversary. My husband ordered the Beef Wellington with a Caesar Salad, I ordered Steak with Broccolini and a custom salad (all romaine, not a spring mix). When they brought out the Caesar Salad it impressed my husband. He couldn't believe they added the anchovies on top, very nicely presented. He was served the Beef Wellington and he was amazed. He never had one, didn't really know what it was made up of. After his first bite he was so happy he ordered it. My food was great as well. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Honestly a few days before we had gone to a supermarket in that town and it was not welcoming, we almost canceled our reservations due to that. So happy we did not. The place was quaint and they sat me near a window that we can take a look at the mountain side. Although it was a rainy day, it was sunshine and happiness within those walls. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed our celebration, so much so my husband would have like to go to that are someday soon and visit with them once again. Loved it!! Thank you for treating us so well.

Onto to the important part. We got some delicious bread and butter to start with, then the tomato bisque came out (Chef's kiss), for my main dish I had the veggie lasagna. Everything was so flavorful and service was amazing. Thank you for a delicious experience.

This store is the best liquor store in Montrose by leaps and bounds. If you're going somewhere…read moreelse, especially for wine, you're going to the wrong place. First off, the friendly staff here is the best. They aren't your usual asking if you need help, but don't really want to give it sort of staff. They are legitimately friendly and willing to help. Second, their wine selection is massive. They have anything and everything you might want including a rather large Colorado wine section that I enjoy checking out once in a while. Third, they have a wine and beer club membership for free where you can get discounts so join it - it's free and worth it! My only minor gripe is that they don't have a huge beer selection. I'm used to Boulder beer selections where the microbrews cover at least 10 doors, so I won't hold this against them.

I just had a cancer stomach surgery few weeks ago, I'm unable to walk normally just yet. And when the clerk "Matt" accused me of being drunk a little before 8 pm. Then he was adamant that I was intoxicated. Im not sure if he's even over the age of 21 or trained properly for his role at small town liquor store. I actually had to show him my surgery scar, I'm not even sure if he's human. Gross .. yikes

August 12, 2026 - Ridgway, CO…read more We had been here once before, and fondly remembered our visit. So we decided to re-visit. We ordered the Cowboy Pizza - Garlic oil, mozzarella, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, gorgonzola and arugula ($19). I ordered a glass of wine, and my husband ordered an IPA. We sat out on the dog-friendly patio. We were lucky to get a table; the outside tables filled up quickly. When a couple arrived with their pup and found all the tables occupied, we invited them to join us. It turned out to be a nice way to meet fellow travelers. And the pizza? DELICIOUS! The crust was excellent, and I loved the combination of flavors and toppings on the Cowboy Pizza. Definitely must eat here if you happen to visit Ridgway.
