For my son's 10th birthday we decided to host a paintball party. When I called to make the…read morereservation and ask questions about how it all worked, they assured me that my son and his group would play only with kids his age, NOT adults. However, when we arrived and I questioned seeing kids and adults playing together, the man working behind the register stated that "The adults are more scared of the kids since they are smaller and can move quicker" and that it wasn't an issue. As our group played, they did kids and adults games and some kid only games. During the last match of kids and adults, one of the girls in our group was shot within close range (less than 6 feet) eight times in the stomach by an adult. She was crying and in pain and the welts were bleeding. The ref came over to apologize twice and say it shouldn't have happened. He said he would speak to the adult, which he did. That adult should have received a warning that if he shoots someone at that close of range again, he'd be dejected from the game. This was a grown adult man who should know better than to shoot a 13-year old girl in the stomach 8 times at close range. Please consider informing your staff who are taking reservations that games are a mix of kids and adults so parents are correctly informed. Also, when staff is explaining the rules to participants, consider telling participants that actions, like this, will not be tolerated and can result in being asked to leave.

There are plenty of course options to choose from and plenty of TVs to keep you occupied in between shots. Should you be thirsty you can grab a pitcher or two of fairly ho-hum beer and frozen pizza is available should you be unable to wait for better sustenance elsewhere. Whether you're just looking to dust up the game over winter, or looking to join an indoor league, the Bunker should scratch your itch to get out on the links whenever the weather or your schedule aren't willing to accommodate.

Even so, the BF enjoys golf, and I enjoy playing with him. I had never heard of The Bunker until I saw a deal on Crowd Cut this Winter for 50% off. So, I figured it might be something cool to do when we were suffering from the winter blues and wanting to spend some quality time with each other. The deal was a round of 18 holes, a pitcher of beer, and a pizza for two for $45. I thought it seemed like a pretty good deal...that was until I heard the words "frozen pizza". That's right, ladies and gents...they serve frozen pizza. We scheduled a 6:30pm tee time for a rainy Friday night a couple weeks ago, and when we got there we had the place completely to ourselves! I guess I didn't really know what to expect, but a cold, dark, unoccupied space wasn't it. A few other twosomes showed up before the night was over, but it was still really dead around there. The guy that was running the place was friendly and helpful--the one bright spot in an otherwise dreary experience. He set up the simulator for us, brought us our pitcher of beer, and then asked us what kind of pizza we wanted--that was when the "frozen" bomb was dropped. We had a little trouble figuring out how to putt, so we asked for his assistance a short while later and he set the simulator to practice mode so he could demonstrate. After that, I was well on my way to sucking on a virtual golf course as well as the real variety--to be fair, the courses are apparently pretty tough on everyone...but that doesn't mean I suck any less! The pizza was ok--certainly not what I was originally expecting, and probably not even as good as your average Tombstone. We pounded back our Mich Goldens and powered our way through the 18 holes like champs. If they'd had a little better options for food and/or beer, we likely would've ordered something else and enjoyed ourselves a little more. But quite frankly, as much fun as I have spending an evening with my BF, we were looking forward to the end of the round! Bottom line: we won't be visiting The Bunker again unless their menu or my game improves significantly!

This is a cheap, no frills place to get a work out if you live in the Southwest suburbs. No…read morecontract, no membership, no annual fee, no pre-registration. You can show up and work out for only $2.50 a visit (technically, it's $3 for non-residents, but they didn't check). There is a gym, fitness room, aerobics/dance room, and meeting rooms. The City of Chanhassen offers personal training and fitness classes too. The locker rooms and showers are basic, but new and clean. It's a small facility, tucked into the east side of Bluff Creek Elementary School, so it's not glamorous. No rows of flat screen tvs or monitors and MP3 connections on every treadmill. All the cardio and weight training equipment is located in one room, but the machines are new and well maintained. It seems pretty quiet in the evenings, so their having only 3 treadmills shouldn't be a problem. There are also several ellipticals and stationary bikes, a rowing machine and what looked like a very complete weight lifting circuit. Sure, the Eden Prairie Community Center, the YMCA or the numerous private fitness clubs are larger and have more amenities. But they're also crowded, pricey and usually want a commitment of variable duration. For $2.50 (or even $3) a visit, this is the best deal I've found.

We have gone here for some cross country skiing last winter with a bunch of assorted family members! It was a blast. We were also here to take senior pictures for our son a few years back. This park isn't too large that you would get lost. The trails are not paved but most of them are mowed and clear. This used to be an old family farm and many of the buildings and the old house still exist. They have several small lakes to enjoy walking around in the summer. They have ski trails and snowshoe trails in the winter. We always enjoy this park when we come here. We have family that live in nearby Henderson which is just down the road past the Ney Nature Center, heading west on Hwy 19. There are places to eat and shop in town. If you are running low on fuel, they also have a few gas stations. We are planning to return this winter to ski some more! Maybe i will see you there! Enjoy the photos!
