January 2025 - My mom and I treated ourselves to 80-minute Lomi Lomi massages at Laniwai during our last trip to Aulani. From the moment we walked in, it was a relaxing, lovely experience. We didn't have much time to enjoy the gardens before our services as we upgraded to longer massages at the last minute, but the staff informed us we could stay after to enjoy the pools, rain showers, cold plunge and hot tub, sauna, and steam room afterwards. My massage itself was wonderful and I appreciated the choice to pick my music and lotion scent - I only wish Disney music was a choice as well! My massage therapist also asked me about pressure several times throughout. The 80 minutes went by very quickly! I enjoyed the gardens and steam room after my massage, and enjoyed some of the infused waters and light snacks too! I highly recommend making time to do this if staying at Aulani or if you are in the area. I'll be back next time I visit.

The extra part of the spa is that you get to use the hot jacuzzi and plunge pool next to it to stimulate your circulation. They tell you to show up an hour before your appointment to experience the outdoor facilities. The only thing was, I could smell fried food in the garden, so they should vent the food from the restaurant somewhere else. There are also rocks that you could walk on for a stimulating foot massage. I booked the Lomi lomi signature massage: Awesome massage, long strokes with hot stone. You can choose from several scents: Lavender, pineapple, and some other ones I don't recall. I chose the pineapple of course because Hawaii. I loved the scent so much I bought a bottle of lotion, which is the Maui pineapple brand they sell everywhere in the resorts. So relaxing, so luxurious.

My family and I vacation at Aulani every summer and when I'm here, I treat myself to a Lomi Lomi Massage. The past couple of times, I've gotten an 80 minute massage versus a 50 minute one and it's worth every cent!!! My masseuse was Atsuko and she was AWESOME!!! She worked out every knot in my body from head to toe. She also made sure the pressure was just right and checked in on me throughout the massage. Be sure to arrive an hour ahead of your scheduled appointment so you're able to enjoy the extra amenities the spa has to offer. After I checked in, a Cast Member came to greet me and gave me water and then had me pick a stone. On my way back to the dressing room, she had me close my eyes, make a wish and toss my stone into the pool of water in the center of the spa. Then she walked me back to the dressing room. She then showed me around and I got changed and situated in a relaxation room. There are three of them: one for women, men and a co-ed one. That's where Atsuko greeted me and walked me back to the massage room. The 80 minutes flew by. Don't hesitate to treat yourself at this spa! I highly recommend a massage here!

Everything was worth it!!!! 4 pools including jacuzzi , 6 different hydrotherapy showers, several massage chairs, sauna and eucalyptus steam room. The steam room alone was cleansing inside and out! Locker rooms with showers, restrooms, and private changing rooms. Toiletries are available. Snacks and water stations provided. Robes, slippers and towels. Swimsuits required. I highly recommend using your robe only when it's time for your service.

First time staying at Aulani to celebrate hubby's birthday and Babymoon. I've decided to get 80mins prenatal message. I made appointment about 2 weeks prior of arrival and glad I was able to get afternoon session. Wish I would take more pictures but I was so amazed with the customer services provided by everyone at the spa and the ambience of this place. Everything so clean, smell amazing with Hawaiian aroma and the set up of the rooms from preparation of changing clothes, bathrooms and showers also waiting room area with fancy orthopedic chairs while we waited for our massage therapy called us in. Simply amazing! I fell asleep throughout the massage and my tech was very professional. Definitely recommend this place. It's not cheap but you get that wonderful experience for every cents you spent!

The customer service here is excellent. All the staff is friendly and cheerful. Exactly what you would expect from a Disney establishment. My sister and I got gel manicures. The girls were great. Courteous and thorough. My nails look great. They include tax and tip in the charge so total was about $187. Pretty steep... but it's a resort in Hawaii!

She was fantastic, and I will definitely request her again the next time I visit. I will be back to see her! The only thing that kept me from giving a full five stars was that the price quoted to me on the phone was different from the price when we arrived. It wasn't a huge difference, but I don't love surprises when it comes to pricing. Greater honesty around that would have made the experience perfect. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we all really enjoyed our time there.

My treatment was in one of the outdoor relaxation tents. You can hear some pool noise, but it doesn't take away from the experience. As for the charges, you can pay with a card or put it to your room. We put the charges to our room, but the only caveat with that is you can't leave a tip on the receipt because there isn't a gratuity line where you can add it. I made a reservation via email and everything went pretty smoothly. On their website it doesn't state that they do couples massages so that's one of the questions I emailed and they said that they do! The spa is located near one of the pools and it's in the same building as the hotel gym. When you first sign in you have to fill out a form and they ask questions like where you want to focus and such. Not going to lie, it was a little awkward filling out the paperwork while there are many people at the gym lol but that might just be my opinion. We really don't know what to expect, but the workers there were really nice and they made us feel really relaxed! We chose to be indoors and it was nice and cold in the AC! The only thing I got surprised by was the price. I mean, I understand that it was at a hotel, so I understand. The masseuses did a fantastic job and it was a great first massage experience! If you're staying at the hotel and want a nice treat yourself moment, I would definitely recommend Spa by the Sea!

Both of our massages were fantastic and afterwards we showered then went to the rooftop pool connected to the spa. Afterwards, we tried out their lotions and they have complimentary razors, hair brushes and tooth brushes. I was completely relaxed and never wanted the feeling to end. The spa lap pool was great too as many spas don't have a good size pool, if at all. This was a smaller lap pool but still a huge plus. Cons: The spa amenities (women's jacuzzi, sauna, locker room) were still quite dated. I had hoped the recent updates would have updated the amenities to the four seasons caliber but sadly, no. The women's jacuzzi area is dark with only the natural lighting from the ceiling skylights which were quite dirty. The sauna was old and not spa clean, which is also a disappointment. The showers were also showing their age with chipped tiles, rust and general deferred maintenance which was surprising. The spa pool had 5 chaise lounges so I'm not sure how they accommodate spa guests by the pool on busier days. There's no attendant on the spa pool floor, towels were piled on the floor and the bathroom was unkempt. Overall, I'd choose the Aulani spa next door, which was surprisingly superior and tranquil. The only thing lacking at the Aulani spa was a spa pool.

On the day of my rescheduled appointment, I presented my Groupon voucher to pay. This is where things became uncomfortable. The massage therapist appeared visibly upset and walked away, and the owner returned to inform me that not all therapists accept Groupon clients. I was told I should have mentioned the Groupon when booking. While I understand policies are important, this was not communicated clearly beforehand, and the way it was delivered felt abrupt and somewhat scolding. As for the massage itself, it was okay but not exceptional. There was a noticeable language barrier, and I was not asked what type of massage I preferred or what areas needed focus. At times, the pressure felt inconsistent -- almost as if there wasn't a clear plan of muscle work being done. Overall, I think clearer communication would greatly improve the client experience, especially regarding Groupon policies. The atmosphere at the end felt tense and uncomfortable, which left me with not-so-great vibes. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't somewhere I'd choose to return to.
