Good food! I cannot find better macaroni salad than at a Hawaiian restaurant. It looks like everything is made from scratch.

Lani Moku was one of the few restaurants open after our hellish ice storms. Teriyaki beef, seasoned veggies and Asian slaw were all pretty good. But the chicken katsu must have been in the fryer too long, so only about a third of it was edible. Will definitely mention that if we go there again. read more

I'm super confused by all the terrible reviews for Lani Moku. My sisters and I visited last night and had tasty meals! One of us had the garlic shrimp salad, another had kalua pork with Mac salad and fried noodles, and the other had teriyaki chicken with friend noodles and a salad. The pork was tender and salty, the chicken was sweet and juicy, and the shrimp were fried crispy. The lettuce on the salads was fresh, the fried noodles were savory, and the mac salad was on the money. The portions were all good, reasonable sizes, too. Public House was packed so the wait might have been a bit longer than normal, but probably not more than 25ish minutes. I would certainly return. read more

If you haven't had simple Hawaiian street food, start here. I cannot describe how delicious the shrimp tacos were. The plate was full and I walked out thrilled by the flavor. The crispy, yet not greasily fried shrimp were delicious and paired with the perfect mixings and spicy sauce. For a moment I felt like I was back on the beach in Hawaii. This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I never received my food after I waited an hour. When I went up to cancel my order and request a refund the manager (female) asked me what my name was. I told her my first name, and she said, "that's a pretty common fucking first name what's your last name?" I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I ordered the Garlic chicken with noodles and a side of Mac. Also a spam musubi. Literally, every item was stale like it had been sitting out for awhile. The chicken was chewy with very little flavor, the noodles didn't have ANY veggies, and the Mac salad tasted like nothing. Stopped in to have lunch with my Son today. I had what I usually order at the Beer Garden location which is the garlic chicken, and white rice, and no green onions since I can't have them. He had the teriyaki chicken. My Son liked his teriyaki chicken, but my food was mediocre, and the Mac salad had way too much mayonnaise in it. My other complaint would be is that my Son asked for no green onions for me, and when it came to the table it had them on the chicken. Okay simple mistake right? The server took the food back, I told her I couldn't have them. Well when the food was brought back I had a funny feeling all they did was just pick the onions off, because one of the pieces of chicken looked like it had a piece of food, or scallion stuck to it! All I can taste right now after eating my meal is onion, and now, I have a bad migraine! Which is exactly the reason I can't have onions!! Thank you for your consideration! Maybe next time instead of just being F'ing lazy, and picking them off of someone's food, you will re make the order that was sent back when they say they can't have something!! Stopped into the Public House and chose to eat at Lani Moku Grill. So glad we did. I love Hawaiian style food. I ordered the Garlic chicken with the mac salad and noodles. The flavor was outstanding. They have their own signature garlic sauce and then I added some teriyaki sauce to it for a little bit of extra pizazz! Yum. The noodles are fresh and have some veggies in them. The chicken was cooked to perfection and like I would cook it at home with great garlic flavor. (I'm a garlic lover, so I want to taste the garlic). Prices were great and you get a nice helping of food. The customer service was outstanding, Natalie took our order and delivered our food to our table. Very friendly, smiling and outgoing. Made our experience even better. The Public House is an old converted church with many restaurants inside and open seating. Very neat and chic idea. Was cool! Talk about an amazing wait time, if you time it out we waited over 30 minutes for each taco (a grand total of an hour and a half/90 minutes) for these tacos and still never got them. We decided to try Public House tonight. There were 4 of in our party and we decided to try different vendors. 2 of us ordered Pig and Turnip, 1 the South American Vendor, and one from Lani Moku. All of us received our food in about 30 minutes, except the one from Lani Moku....she sat patiently as we all are our meals. New parties arrived at surrounding tables and received their meals, from Lani Moku (they arrived 30 minutes after us and received their meals). My friends husband got up to inquire about her meal an hour after ordering (3 tacos), they said 5 minutes. Well, she waited another 20-30 minutes (about an hour and half after ordering) to go ask herself. He was flustered, argumentative, and just plain rude. He did not provide her order and she asked for a refund. This is after she pointed out that others who arrived 30-60 minutes after us had already received their orders. Thought pork tacos from Lani Moku Grill sounded delicious. 90 minutes later when all 3 other people at my table had completely finished their drinks, apps and food and I STILL didn't have my 3 tacos my husband went to check on my order and was told sorry 5 minutes. 30 minutes later when I went to check myself, the young man in the kitchen was so rude, telling me what a hard day he had and how they had 50 orders ahead of me (it was a Tuesday night and there weren't even 50 people in the whole place), so patronizing! I canceled my order and he raised his voice at me telling me that their order system was not working properly and getting defensive - what happened to the customer is always right??
