Usually have to wait until summer visits from Iowa to get my Lang's fix, so I was ecstatic to learn this was opening weekend 2026. Service was exceptional as always, and the two scoops of Oreo Coffee and Cake Batter were delicious! It was a little cool, but not enough to dampen the spirit for ice cream today. We've been visiting Lang's Ice Cream for 10 years so far. They make the best soft-serve ice cream I have ever had. The closest to Lang's was a place in Ohio called Handel's Ice cream. The customer service is fast and friendly and I love the tree lined view at the back of the parking lot. It's a gorgeous place to sit in the shade under a tree and devour the ice cream. The food is delicious and made fresh to order. In November they reopen to sell Christmas trees and wreathes. They have special seasonal flavors like peppermint and egg-nog soft-serve. Those are two of my absolute favorites. Today we stopped by for ice cream and enjoyed the soft-serve strawberry. The traditional ice cream is also very good but we are fans of soft-serve style. Lang's is a seasonal outside drive-in, located just south of the Route 106 intersection formerly owned and operated by Johnny Prescott Oil. The new owners keep this drive-in open beyond Labor Day. They serve up Blake's Ice Cream and soft serve treats, slushes plus burgers, hot dogs, rolls, fries, rings, chicken nuggets, and cold drinks (Pepsi products). The prices (in 2009) for ice cream (hard/soft): Kid ($2.35/$2.70), Regular ($2.85/$3.45), Large ($3.20/$3.95), Waffle Cone $1 extra. On my way to work in the AM, I see the outside tables being hosed and cleaned. I've been stopping here on the way home from work, mostly on warm days. I'll get ice cream treats including a brownie sundae ($4.95), strawberry shortcake ($4.75), or a large Reeses Pieces flurry ($4.75). For food, they make a good Texasburger and they offer the Mar Dog Special: 2 Hot Dogs, fries or rings, and med drink for $6.95 plus tax. A Lobster Roll Meal is also offered for $12.95 plus tax which includes fries or onion rings and a drink. Last week, they ran out of lobster rolls after I tried ordering, so I ordered a Tuna Roll ($3.95) and small fries ($1.50) instead. They did give me a free soda with my second choice order, unexpected. Overall, this is a good little place stop for ice cream and food. read more

I love lang's! Best ice cream in the area. Great flavors, love the rotating soft serve selection. Pink peppermint pumpkin are must-try flavors! Ambiance is wonderful- from the sign to the seating with a wonderful view you can't beat it. read more

Your sign says you close at 9pm. About a week ago we arrived a little before 8:45pm, we were told it closed at 8:30. We show up just now, 8:10pm and we are told it closed at 8. Pick a time to close and have it posted somewhere. This is ridiculous. I got the feeling that the people in the shop don't want to bother with serving people. read more

Lang's does not stay true to their hours of operation. They had a sign up at their location and on Facebook stating they close at 8pm for their fall hours and close for the season today Oct 10th. We got there at 7:15pm Oct 10th to see a sign saying "See you in the spring". Please be more accurate with your hours next season. read more

Anyone who doesn't love this place is wrong. Great service, amazing ice cream, and some of the best onion rings I've ever had. Stopped by Langs on our way home. We've seen this wonderful little place many times but have never actually tried it. It is the cleanest, tastiest ice cream place that we have had the pleasure to enjoy. I recommend taking the children. My children first tried a taste of 2 different flavors. Each flavor was enjoyed and helped in the flavor choosing process. The pricing was less than what we've paid elsewhere and Langs will be on our list again before the end of summer. read more

We had Fools Gold and Dirty water - delicious ice cream. Service was fast. The shop also sells burgers and other summer fare. Lots of seating available in both the sun and shade. We will definitely be returning next time we are in New Hampshire. read more

I had always found this place a bit on the expensive side. But the attitude of the female owner has stuck with me for a long time. And I find it worth the trip to head to The shop on Fisherville rd. Years ago I stopped to ask directions. She didn't know the road so gave me the phone. No lie, Less than two minutes later she snatched the phone from me and hung up. If she was going to offer at least give enough time for directions. She seems to not have realized I was a customer. As well as anyone else that witnessed this. As well as a neighbor in need. I refuse to give them my business now, with 4 kids I spend a lot. Would rather have a quality tasty treat anyhow and will continue to direct family and friends to Fisherville Rd Whippee Twist. read more
