I knew double bluff has an off leash section, but the multiple signs were confusing, especially the ones that say only humans can enter through a certain point. It was nice to see showers and dog washing stations, but the lower ones weren't working, and the main showers only work if you keep pressing. The only bathrooms were portables. It's a long walk to the off leash section, so if you want more room to yourself, you have to go farther. The beach was shallow enough for a long ways. The seaweed closer to the parking lot side of the beach seems to be wasting much of the shoreline, unless it's always like that. There were multiple dry sheets of seaweed throughout the sandy parts, but they can be avoided since the beach front is so vast.

The west entrance has a short downhill path beginning with the whale sighting bell (if you see an orca, you ring it!) and around the middle of the trail, there is a staircase that goes back up to 1st ave. If an orca sighting is found to be nearby, this is where you want to stop to try to have a look. There were several times people have sighted orcas just 25 feet from this park!

We saw a bald eagle hunt something in the water and bring it to the beach, so it seems good for wildlife watching. The lighthouse is kind of underwhelming because of the size. There's multiple grassy fields and some picnic tables. Some people were flying kites when we were there because of the wind. There's also a dog bag station, which is nice to see at a state park. Regarding the fort, I didn't realize until later that there's an easy path up to the top without needing stairs and/or a steep route. Otherwise, I thought it was tricky going up if I could only use the thin metal ladders. Once at the top, there were multiple points that seemed iffy and unprotected from dropping down.

There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.

It's also quite peaceful and just a great place to chill out. The beach is pebbly but it's still beautiful. In fact it may be even more beautiful because it is pebbly. I don't know if it's still there but there was a structure made out of wood probably a few beach combers made and it was cool to take a peek inside there too. Anyway I love Puget Sound and have seen it from all kinds of different angles but I think this spot is one of my favorites if not my favorite at the top of the list. The lighthouse is cute, a nice white painted building with red roof. Not terribly tall or towery like some lighthouses but beautifully maintained regardless. Definitely a stop to make if you enjoy lighthouses and absorbing the water and nature of Puget Sound.

Decided to drive up to this lighthouse while visiting the nearby charming Scandinavian town of…read morePoulsbo. This is the oldest lighthouse on Puget Sound, built in 1879. It marks the hazardous Point No Point shoal and north entrance to Puget Sound. There is a nice size beach across from the parking lot. The lighthouse grounds were gorgeous this time of year with all the red hot poker plants in bloom along the rock wall, from the beach all the way down to the lighthouse. There were quite a few driftwood art pieces along the path up to the lighthouse, including a bench, ball, giraffe, dolphin, seal, whale and horse. Overall we enjoyed the time we spent here...so beautiful and picturesque. Would definitely recommend.
