    That 1 Painter - Loudoun

He said the entire project, a fully furnished house, would be finished in one week. He told us we would not have to move out and that every door and surface would be covered. He also said our kitchen cabinets would be painted outside so we could safely store our boxed up kitchen items in the garage. Based on his promises and the company's online reviews, we moved forward. Once work started the story was very different. Brian, who led the actual painting crew, explained a longer timeline and a different process. In reality the job took much longer than one week and we did have to move out for several days. We also learned that we should not have stored our kitchen things in the garage because the cabinets were painted in that space, so we had to move everything a second time. There were also major miscommunications and mistakes. We gave permission for the crew to pull up carpet edges to paint the trim but instead they cut the carpet. With four pets and two kids that meant we had no choice but to immediately replace the carpet entirely. Their recommended carpet vendor then came in, scratched up freshly painted walls, and those areas had to be painted again. On top of that their paint supplier mixed our primary color wrong, which required repainting large sections of the house. While Brian and his crew worked hard and did a solid job with the painting, there was a huge disconnect between the promises Mitch made in sales and what the operations team could realistically deliver. The crew also had to take apart things like cabinets, closet systems, and window trim, but they did not put them back together properly. We had to go behind them and fix or reassemble much of it ourselves. One closet system even fell out of the wall a few months later. Most of the paint has held up, but there are more spots than there should be in high traffic areas such as doors, cabinets, and our trash drawer that already need touch ups less than a year later. When I reached out to see if they would stand by their work as many contractors do within a year, Mitch made it clear they would not. Overall I feel for Brian and his crew because they worked hard to meet unrealistic goals. However the gap between what was sold and what was actually delivered, combined with the lack of accountability afterward, left us very disappointed.

Chantilly Kitchen & Bath - Old bar - wasted floorspace and not very useful for storage.

Primary emphasis was a layout that could evolve over time and recapturing some floorspace. Start to finish was 3-4 weeks. This included tearing out popcorn ceiling, wiring in ~11 new recessed lights, new flooring, new kitchenette, small updates to a guest bathroom, painting all the things (including a chalkboard 1/3 wall) and a redesigned fascia for our fireplace. It also included a "secret room" for the kiddo that Quinn took on as a personal project, as we've been juggling complex medical issues for a few years. Needless to say that resulted in a lot of smiles and it has been getting a ton of use. The plywood in the secret room is 3/4" and we plan to add some rock climbing grips to it in the future. Pearl and Monica were easy to communicate with and any issues (ex: some painting needed to be revisited) were handled promptly. They were very flexible with pricing and really went out of their way to make this work for us. I'm deeply appreciative of the work they did for our child and the flexibility they demonstrated with some of my last-minute design tweaks. This is an easy recommend from me.

But once we scheduled the appointment with CKB, lots of other projects popped up with our old, new house: knocking pipes when the hot water is on, an old fireplace mantle with water damage behind it, a wall-mounted tv that the previous owners stuck right into flammable insulation. But it didn't matter! Quinn, Cherie, and Carlos completed our whole list within ONE WEEK and within our budget. The team painted everything from ceilings to baseboards and covered up the previous yellow and navy blue paint! They completely replaced the damaged drywall behind our brick fireplace and installed a new electrical outlet for the wall mounted tv, in addition to adding fireproof insulation! And they fixed our knocking pipes by cutting into our walls and spray foaming around the culprits. Totally professional and on time every day. It was great! Can't wait to have them back to renovate our old bathrooms.

His approach is thorough, professional and efficient. We had him build and install a wall-to-wall storage unit built from natural hickory that he found and milled specifically for our project. He provided a quote for the project in a timely manner and his timeline for building and installation was sooner than we expected, which was a wonderful surprise. We are thrilled with the final product and know that we have added value and comfort to our home. If we have any future projects, we will certainly reach out to Rob for assistance.

Hiring Frazier Custom Cabinetry was a great decision. We worked directly with the company owner,…read moreRob. Rob built and installed a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling entertainment system for our family room. He also put up crown molding in two of our rooms. The final product came out great and Rob was great to work with. (I've put pictures of the entertainment center shortly after installation and painting.) Initially we spoke to Rob over the phone and sent him some photos of ideas we liked. We followed that up with a meeting at his shop, during which he showed us around and took us through everything he could do, which was quite a bit! We finalized the design and he sent us a scaled drawing within a quick turn around. The drawing looked exactly like we envisioned. Rob came to the house to measure and a few short weeks later, Rob and his crew were at our home doing the installation. During the installation, the one thing that stuck out to me was that Rob was very involved. I've seen company owners disappear while the crew is doing that actual job. Not with this job! Rob strikes me as a bit of a perfectionist and he really pushed his crew to do a great job. It showed in the final product. The other thing that showed in the final product is that Rob used quality materials and craftsmanship. We spoke to other companies before hiring Frazier Custom Cabinetry and they all planned to use inferior MDF products. Rob uses old-school joining techniques instead of relying on more expedient, but flimsier, methods. We could see this in how the crown molding was attached and how he built things in his shop. We got higher quality materials put together with finer craftsmanship and didn't have to pay more than what the competitors were asking. In short, if you're looking to have custom cabinetry done, hire Rob. He's easy to work with. He does what he says he's going to do. And his product turns out great. I'm already looking around for the next thing I want Rob to do for us!

The team is well versed in kitchen design and does beautiful kitchen designs (just seems the pics). Years later, it was time to replace everything, and we wanted a kitchen with a better flow, more space, and better quality cabinets and appliances. Most contractors we contacted simply wanted to replace everything without improving it. Bath Plus Kitchen has actual architects on staff, listened to my list of wants and needs, and then incorporated them. I liked that they change a base price for this, so that I had the option of taking the plans to a different contractor or of using their in-house building crew. We went with their building crew, and we're really happy with how the kitchen turned out. It's so much more open and spacious than before. I have lots of space for working. I upgraded to a powerful stove with a hood, both of which work great. I'm really happy with the quality of the cabinets -- such an upgrade from any I've had before, probably ever. I'm enjoying the little extras that they planned into the kitchen that wouldn't have occurred to me, like dimmers on all of the lights, the quality hardware, touch-sensitive faucet, even the matching wood-panel vent covers and switch plate. The building crew did a very good job keeping the site clean and performing quality work all the way around. Nothing has felt wobbly, looked crooked, or seemed in the slightest bit off. A few negatives: Bath Plus Kitchen is BUSY! We started working on this project in November 2022. We finalized the plans, picked out appliances, and put down a large deposit in early February 2023. Work on our kitchen actually began the second week of July. That's a while to wait! We also had a few communication challenges, like a shifting start date, when to expect the crew to be at our house, and who was responsible for arranging delivery of a few items. It was nothing awful, but worth keeping on top of. Overall, the kitchen looks great and is great to cook in, and I'm excited to have friends over. I think we will enjoy it for many years to come.
