I have been a loyal client of Bobby at Black Butterfly since 2014. After leaving California for…read moreeight years and recently returning in May, I've had the chance to experience stylists from Chicago, Dallas, San Diego, Miami, and many other cities. Through all my travels, one thing became clear: our hair is our crowning glory and sets the tone for how we feel about ourselves. Bobby is truly a rare jewel in the world of hairstyling. Not only is he an expert in his craft, but he also genuinely cares about the health and well-being of our hair. His precision with scissors is extraordinarily detailed. He can cut hair both wet and dry, and anyone familiar with dry cutting knows it requires exceptional skill to execute correctly. What sets Bobby apart is his dedication to using high-quality products that truly work. Despite his remarkable talent, his prices remain incredibly fair. I've encountered stylists with a fraction of his skill charging exorbitant rates. Bobby's commitment to his clients and his pride in his work are evident in every cut and style. Even after eight years away, I can confidently say that Bobby's skills have only improved. He is the only person I trust with my hair, and I am profoundly grateful that he is still in business after the challenges of COVID-19. Bobby is the best at what he does, he is such a talented hair artist, If you want to feel confident and beautiful, Bobby is the stylist for you.

Bobbie Blackstone is a Hair God... I have had my hair cut at many different places. I have yelp'd about a few. They were all good yelps too. None of them come close to my experience with Bobbie. He is sincere and actually cares about how your hair turns out. He has attention to detail which a lot of barbers/ hair dressers do not. He has hands that are soft like an angels. His salon is very welcoming and centrally located on the grid. After you get your hurr did, you can trot downstairs for a drink at The Depot or walk across to LowBrau for wurst and bier. Back to Bobbie. I have never felt more comfortable in the hands of a barber. I felt like a movie star the entire time. I will ONLY get my hair cut by Bobbie from now on. and that's real. Tim is truly the best hair stylist I have ever encountered. I have been getting smoothing…read moretreatments, color treatments and hair cuts from him for 8 years now. I am someone who works out nearly every day, which means I wash my hair pretty much every day. I also don't own a blow dryer. Tim's smoothing treatment allows me to have the absolute smoothest, yet insanely voluminous gorgeous hair for months with NO EFFORT. I can't tell you how many times I get complimented on its shine and beauty even when I'm at the gym lol. He also doesn't use any of the formaldehyde treatments, which I have had before and I MUCH prefer the results of Tim's smoothing treatment over a Brazilian blowout, any day, no question. My hair always feels healthier leaving his salon then when I walked in, which is rare. Tim is beyond thorough when he works with your hair, something that is really important to me if I'm paying for a smoothing treatment, because if this is rushed, or not executed properly you are just wasting money. Tim knows the chemistry of all the products he uses for these treatments and he understands how they interact with the type of hair you have on an insane level which helps him guide you to the best possible choices when choosing color or when combining treatments in the same visit. Tim never double/overbooks, and always spaces appointments out so he isn't rushed which again, results in the best possible outcome for the client. Tim is also one of the kindest, funniest individuals to know. If you are going to spend multiple hours getting your hair done with a stylist, you certainly want it to be Tim! Tim use to have an amazing salon in San Francisco (where I live) I love his new salon in Sac, the decor, vibe and experience it provides while getting your hair done is very luxurious. I have no choice but to continue getting my hair done with him, because no one provides the quality and experience he does (I've searched high and low in SF to no success). So yes, I make the drive from San Francisco to Sacramento, but it is worth every penny and moment in traffic to have great hair! If you want a high-end hair experience with impressive and quality results that last, Tim is your person!
