First off, the entry line at gate D was chaos. One line became 3 lines, became 4 lines, etc. And there was no one there to regain order! We had to get real aggressive trying to maintain our position. We were about 6th in line but ended up being about 20th to reach the ticket booth. Once we got to the ticket booth, the elderly woman became confused, trying to operate the laptop used to issue tickets. We had to wait about 5 minutes until a young man arrived and helped her. Keep in mind, behind us, were hundreds of people waiting to purchase tickets. Chaos, at best. Once inside, we had a great time. It was "Senior Day". We stayed all day, deciding to stay until the 7:30 stage entertainment. To our surprise, we discovered it was a hip hop artist named CHINGY. Hip hop on senior day? Who's the genius who planned that one? My girlfriend, my mother, and I decided to give Chingy a try. For some reason, we assumed the show was included in the Fair entry price. Nope. The crew working at the gate told me that ticket prices ranged from 30 to 50 dollars! I couldn't help but laugh. Then, one of the crew approached, lowered his voice, and said, "You may wanna check with that booth over there, and see if you can get a better price." He was pointing to a radio station booth (Don't remember what station it was). So we walked over as the man running the booth walked towards us. He said, "I noticed that gentleman pointing towards me. And no, I don't have any free tickets." I told him we weren't necessarily looking for free tickets. He paused, then asked if it were just the 3 of us. I said yes. He them reached into his pocket and pulled out a large stack of tickets, peeled off 3 of them, and handed them to me, saying, "Enjoy the show." Each ticket said Reserved Seating, $45.00. So we entered the show grounds. We watched the entire 45-minute show, relieved that we hadn't paid for it. Not only was it short, but it was not good. Chingy rapped/sang for about 15 minutes, then invited 6 random people onstage for a dance competition. A half hour later, it was all over. I might add, most of the seats were empty. All in all, it was a fun day at the Fair. read more

I've gone to the fair for at least 10 years in a row Lane county fair what a great idea right well this year 2024 has become so ridiculously expensive it is depressing we paid the Door fee of $10 each to get in that's fine but once we got in, we found that Drinks were $16 each basket of fries $16 a plate of Hawaiian chicken noodles $16. everything is $15-$16 to eat there or to do there tickets are 13 tickets 15 to 20 tickets per ride do the math that's absolutely ridiculous Lane county you need to do something about this. This is unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable depressing our family paid $40 to get into the park And we were there we walked around and Absolute depression going from boot booth trying to see if there's something we could buy that was somewhat affordable not at all. Absolutely horribly disgusting as far as pricing sad sad event. read more

I've never been impressed with the fair. I'd call it two stars, my husband would call it 4. So the compromise is 3 stars. I'd be perfectly happy to never go again, but in the last couple years, he seems intent on dragging me to it every year. So, off I go. I'm not a fan of rides. I hate heights, and I get motion sick fairly easily. So that is usually something I try to avoid. The food is meh. It's sandwiches, fried things, and sugar. Typical fair food. I have to prepare to gain a minimum of 4 pounds in water retention after eating that crap every time, not to mention skipping the gym for at least a day to avoid throwing up because it's just rolling around in my stomach and begging to come out. The thing I do enjoy are the animals and looking at them. That is fun to me. Seeing all of them and ooohing over their cuteness. The craft/art section is kind of fun too. I love looking at the quilts and paintings that are done and showcased here. I'm a nerd like that, and I'm always looking for ideas and inspiration for my next project, and I find it in this area. Would I return? Yes, because my husband loves the fair. Is it my favorite thing? Nope. But I go for him, and I try to deal with the rides and food. Review 172 of 2017. read more

Apparently now you are FORCED to carry all your things around in clear plastic bags. You aren't even allowed to bring a backpack, purse, anything that isn't transparent. I REFUSE to carry our stuff around in my hands all day. Next year they'll probably force you to go naked. I'll stay home and increase my grip strength in a more enjoyable fashion. read more

This fair has a fairgrounds, carnival, and a museum. I went to the fair first, it was a fun fair. There were motorcycles, Professor Smart's Science Show, puppets, and a comedy duo. Alex Zerbe inside the building was hilarious. We went to the carnival next, there were vendors, and food vendors. Elephant ears are very popular this year. I even saw a mobile Subway. Cool!! Then we went to the museum, how cool! They had vintage games, and quite a few unique things for sale. I loved the road-eo teaching the kids about construction, earth movers, and all things ODOT. It was a great fair. I enjoyed High Valley's concert too. read more

The fair was such a disappointment this year (2016)! For the first time you have to pay for parking and they don't tell you until you are already in line to park and there is nowhere to turn around. Once inside the first thing you notice is how empty the fairgrounds are. Compared to years past there is about 1/3 of the attractions, food, and exhibits. Prices remained about the same for rides and food ($5/ride, $10 for a burger). They changed wristbands this year so you can only get one that lasts for the whole fair and it's $50. There is only about 10 bigger rides and the rest are kiddie rides. No moto cross, no performing animals, and they are charging to get a seat at the concerts. Don't think I'll be going next year unless things change! read more
