We moved into a home with 3 gas fireplaces so on occasion we need service. A contractor working on our home turned off the gas in our den fireplace. I knew how to restart my other two fireplaces, but the den unit was electronic. The service fee was $295 which seemed outrageous but let me continue. The tech, Geraldo (Jerry) came in. He wore booties from the front door to my interior. He laid out a quilted drop cloth and began the process of starting my fireplace. After getting the fireplace running, he shut it down and carefully removed the glass panel, disassembled the decorative logs, vacuumed with a filtered shop vac, then windexed the glass before reassembling the unit. At every turn, Jerry was precise and took incredible pride in his work. I had questions about operating the remote which he expertly explained. I asked how much training he received and he explained it was extensive. I absolutely marveled at how good the service call was. I hope the company realizes how good Jerry is and wish all my service experiences in life were similar.

I called this morning at 9:30 AM and left a message that I was interested in a gas fireplace insert. Since I did not hear back for a couple of hours (which itself was a bad sign), I decided to visit the showroom. My mistake. When I arrived, the door was locked so I rang the doorbell which looked to have an intercom and a buzzer which would allow the door to be unlocked from inside or have someone say they were coming to let me in. I waited for a couple of minutes but I did not get a response. I rang again and again didn't get a response. I tried to open the door thinking the buzzer might be broken but that the door might have been unlocked. I looked at the signs and confirmed that the showroom was supposed to be open. At this point, I was thinking that I drove 20 minutes to the showroom only to find it was closed. After waiting for another couple of minutes, I tried ringing a third time. I thought I might have heard the intercom or the buzzer so I tried to open the door. All of a sudden, the door flew open and I was confronted by what can only be described as a deranged man with a face contorted by anger. He got up in my face yelling at me to "stop shaking my door." Before I could even get out a single word explaining to him that I had been waiting for 5 minutes and was a customer just trying to visit his showroom, he screamed at me to "get the f/k outta here." I actually thought he might get violent. The entire episode lasted for less than a minute. He actually did me a favor by yelling me at to leave. If you are reading this, you too should listen to him and never enter the store. After reading some of the online reviews, I'm assuming this person is Victor, who has been variously described as unreasonable, obnoxious, condescending and rude. I can only add that the person that confronted me was an angry, miserable person with psychological issues. I can't imagine the headaches someone would have if they did purchase anything from this Company and had to deal with this person.

We came across Bond Construction after a number of interactions with other contractors left us…read morefeeling frustrated. Ed showed up the day I reached out and came to the site to answer questions and prepare a quote. It was clear from the start that Bond Construction would be a perfect fit for this project. Ed was able to quickly navigate the arduous co-op approval process and provided guidance along the way. The project consisted of a fairly extensive renovation of a 2 bedroom co-op apartment in lower Manhattan. Bond Construction completed the following: new flooring throughout the entire apartment, patch/paint plaster walls and ceilings, skim coat where necessary, updated electrical work (fuse box to circuit breaker), open up a pass through between living room and kitchen, a complete kitchen gut and renovation, install all appliances, install cabinetry, install new baseboard and crown moldings, build two large decorative beams with recessed LED lighting in living room, remove pedestal sink and install new bathroom vanity. There are lots of other details I have left out but needless to say Ed and his team did an incredible job with this project. Ed was communicative throughout the renovation and his team was extremely resourceful, as they were able to come up with creative and effective solutions to any issues or unforeseen challenges that arose during the renovation. Everyone that worked on site was friendly, respectful of our building's rules, and our neighbors. Most importantly, the project was done ON TIME and ON BUDGET! We had been told that this was because the chimney was partially blocked. When I called, Anthony said he could be there in about 2 hours. He was right on time. He and Richard were professional, straight-forward and efficient. He determined that the chimney did not need cleaning but there was a potential issue we should be aware of with the metal pipe not running all the way to the roof. And he charged nothing (NOTHING!!) for the inspection! Can you believe it? Who does that? TC Builders, that's who.
