What little foundation landscaping we had was either old or dead. A neighbor recommended Gary and we would not hesitate to pass on our recommendation. Gary responded promptly and the plants he suggested took into account our sun/shade exposure and the fact our property does not have an irrigation system. His employees, Louis and Ihor, began work within a week and completed the entire project in one day. Both were very knowledgeable of the plants chosen and consulted with us as the work progressed and gave us care instructions for the new plantings. Gary followed up with us to insure we were satisfied. We've read the negative comments appearing on Yelp and can't believe we are writing about this same company! I am a consumer who tends to trust too much (i.e. loyalty to a fault). To my own demise, I really didn't obtain any other quotes other than Gary's - definitely my bad. My father is probably chastising me from heaven!! Work was mediocre at best. So much confusion in regards to materials (how much was needed vs. actual order)! We had requested 2 of the 3 projects (new sod NOT being 1 of them) to be performed and guess what happens? On the 1st day of work, we were informed that new sod was on its way!! We don't regret the decision; however, this is an example of how the communication went. Last but not least, I receive an email from Gary last week regarding some political issue. Not appropriate! I do not recommend this company at all!!! The owner Gary is rude and the work is mediocre.

This could have been such a wonderful experience. Gary's design for my landscaping was beautiful, but the execution, communication, customer service, and follow through were abysmal. Unfortunately, I am not permitted enough characters to fully explain the experience, but suffice it to say that I paid him more than some people paid for their cars, and all I got was some weeding, a bunch of flowers that will never thrive because they were planted improperly, a $1280 irrigation repair bill, and a headache. It seems to be Gary's style to respond to these types of reviews by spewing vitriol, but the fact remains that he did us wrong. When I inquired about the estimate, it was noted they had my email incorrect. Once received, the initial estimate had my name misspelled and the wrong number of plantings. When I asked for the estimate to be corrected, it took another 3 attempts and still the estimate was not accurate. When I inquired about getting copies of license and insurance as advertised on their website, I received an email from the owner: "I have let my license and insurance expire intentionally. Here is the important reason : The costs for both keep rising and I get nothing from them but having to raise my cost to my homeowners. The license doesn't protect homeowners. Anyone can get the landscaping license without any credentials or experience. There is no effort made by the county to identify incompetent and just plain dishonest contractors from cheating folks. It is just a simple tax to raise revenue. The homeowner is in no way protected by that license or assured of a competent and honest and trustworthy contractor. This goes for the insurance as well. It does not insure the homeowner against damage or dishonesty by the contractor. It only insures me to pay for possible damages. We have never done any damage in the 6 years I have had this business. Your HOA will not understand this as none of them are knowledgeable about the real matters related to both. I was President of our HOA and I know all too well how being licensed and insured did not protect so many of our community homeowners from bad contractors and still doesn't." Their website advertises they are licensed and insured and in business over 20 years not 6. I decided not to work with the contractor and have received threatening emails and texts from the owner. He is complaining that they spent time meeting with me and sending me various estimates at my request. My requests were not for revised estimates, but for an accurate initial estimate. Not a pro. I asked him to make beds and to cut edges for those beds. Instead he dumped a pile of loam on my lawn and then put mulch on top of the loam. The workers left rubbish on my lawn, failed to actually plant all of the plants, and generally did a messy job. Additionally, after we made it clear we did not want any loam stored on our lawn (because of the difficulty of removing it without harming the lawn) the workers moved the left over loam from our driveway, on to the lawn.
